Chapter 31

{Ochako Uraraka p.o.v}
"Oh hi, Uraraka!"
Deku's mom smiles at me as she answers their front door.
"Hi, Ms. Midoriya. Is Dek- Izuku here?"
"Oh yes, he's in his room. He's all better now also, so you don't have to worry about his broken body now, if that's why you're here."
"That's good. I haven't seen him in a few weeks since I wanted him to have some space, we've just been texting instead lately. But I figured I'd stop by."
"You're a nice girl, as always."
She lets me in and smiles, "I haven't seen you in a while, so it's nice to see you drop by. I also wanted to talk to you."
"Oh really?" We sit at their dining table and I sit across from her with my hands on my lap, "Is something the matter, Ms. Midoriya?"
"Oh no, not at all. I just thought we'd have a quick girl talk. But first, would you like some tea or water?"
"Um, tea please." She makes the tea for me and for herself as well, then sits the tea in front of me and sits back down, "What kind of girl talk?"
"About Izuku. Don't worry, nothing bad."
I nod, "Alright."
"Y'all are really great friends, right?"
"Yes, ma'am. I've known him since we started U.A., he's really fun and his quirk is cool."
"Well, he is a bit nerdy as well. Haha."
I laugh a little, that's definitely right.
It's cute though when he writes in his journal and all serious about it too.
Did I say cute!?
"I just wanted to ask you something."
"What is it?"
"Do you like him?"
I freeze and turn red, "E-Excuse me, what was that?"
"My son, do you like him?"
I nervous laugh and scratch the back of my head, "I'd be lying if I said I didn't like who he is."
"You know what I mean. We're both girls so it's okay to speak of this."
"I-I don't know," I stutter and take a sip of tea, "I've thought about it, but I don't want to weird him out and drive him away."
"Oh don't worry, Izuku isn't like that. He'll stick around. But if you really really like him, then you need to do something about it."
"Yeah, I've been told that before."
"Well, if you've been told several times, then that's a definite sign that you should."
"But, I'm so shy and embarrassed."
"I was nervous too when I told my husband. We were at an ice cream shop and he had ice cream above his lip, so I kissed him."
"How did you think like that?"
"I just told myself that I need to get it out, sometimes actions are better than saying it out loud. If you're too nervous to say it, then show it instead. It's the same."
I nod and look down at my empty cup.
"That's all I wanted." She smiles and takes our cups to wash them.
"Oh please, let me." I take the cups and wash them.
"Thank you, Uraraka."
"You can call me Ochako, if you want."
We hear footsteps, only to see Deku appear around the corner. He's in his underwear and shirtless, like he just woke up. We both turn red once he realizes I'm there.
"I-I'M SORRY!" I turn away, my face is a tomato so I'm fanning myself with my hands.
"Izuku, what have I said about running around the house in your underwear? That's inappropriate if a guest comes over. Especially a girl."
"SORRY OCHAKO!" He runs back to his room and slamming his door. I turn back around and his mom looks at me and giggles at my reactions.
"Boys will be boys."
I finished washing the cups and I sit on the couch, still in embarrassment.
He looked so cute in his underwear....WHAT!?!?!
"Hey." He looks at me fully dressed this time and still embarrassed as well, "Sorry, I just woke up and didn't think about anything else since I was still tired."
"I-It's okay, haha."
"So, did you need something? My mom said you wanted to visit."
"Oh, I just wanted to see if you were better now, I haven't seen you in person in a while."
He snaps his fingers and smiles, "I have an idea!"
"Huh?"
"We can finally go on that date!"
"D-Date!?"
"Yeah, did you forget already?"
"No but-"
"Perfect!"
He grabs my hand and run to the door together. "We'll be back later, Mom!"
"Okay, have fun! And be back before dark."
"We will."
We leave and he is still holding my hand and running.
"Deku, can we slow down? I don't run as fast as you!"
He stops and we're both out of breath.
"Sorry."
"You're energetic today."
"Well yeah, I'm all better so I want to finally move around when I'm healed."
"I guess that makes sense. But what are we gonna do?"
"Well we can eat somewhere, if you haven't eaten already."
My stomach growls and he laughs, "Yeah, let's go to the ice cream shop. They have regular food too so we can eat lunch first and then ice cream can be our dessert."
"I-Ice cream..."
"What's wrong? Are you lactose intolerant?"
"No I'm fine. Let's go." I smile nervously. We get there and eat orange chicken and rice.
"This is the best orange chicken I've ever had, Deku!"
"Haha, I agree. I've eaten here before so I just HAD to take you. You deserve the best anyway."
I choke on my rice and take a drink.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, it just went down the wrong pipe."
"Oh, be more careful."
After that, we get ice cream. My flavor is birthday cake and his is cookies and cream.
"I've never had birthday cake flavored ice cream before, can I try it Ochako?"
"I've never had cookies and cream flavored ice cream either, so let's try each others."
We switch ice cream and take a bite, then switch back.
"Wow, cookies and cream is delicious!"
"Birthday cake is amazing!"
I look at him and he has ice cream on his lip. I gulp and motion with my finger that it's there, he licks it and smiles.
"Thanks. You have some on your nose though."
"I do!?" I feel my nose and he grabs my ice cream to smear on my nose. I gasp and he starts laughing really hard. I smirk and smear his on his nose.
"Oh really?" We attack at the same time and both of our ice cream cones break in our hands and starts dripping down our arms.
"You're quite messy, Ochako."
"I could say the same about you."
After cleaning the mess and eating, we head to the park to walk around.
"Look, Ochako!" He runs to the monkey bars.
"What are you doing?"
He climbs on it and hangs upside down.
"I haven't played on these ever since I was a kid. But come on, hang with me."
"Uh, alright." I climb up and hang upside down with him, "How do we get down?"
"Climbing back down of course."
"And how long do we hang here? I don't want the blood to rush to my head."
"Eh just a little bit, we'll be fine."
About 5 minutes later, I start getting exhausted, "Um, Deku. My legs can't hold on anymore."
"We can get down now."
I reach up to grab the pole but I slip and fall on the ground.
"Ochako!"
He jumps down and kneels in front of me, "Are you okay!?"
"The wood chips hurt, but I didn't hurt anything too bad like you."
He smirks a little, "Haha very funny." He helps me up and I wipe the chips off of me.
"What do you wanna do Ochako?"
I put my finger on my chin to think while looking around, "Well I haven't been on a swing since I was a kid."
"Perfect! I can push you."
"Push me? But I'm not 3."
"You don't have to be, it'll be fun."
I shrug and sit on a swing. He stands behind me and I push my legs forward to move then he pushes me.
"Just don't blast me to the moon, okay?"
He laughs, "You got it."
After a while he's still pushing me and I'm laughing here and there and smiling. But all of a sudden he touches my butt on accident while pushing me and I freak out.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!" He steps away and I stop swinging.
"It's okay, I know."
"Now what do you wanna do?"
"Your turn to choose."
He looks at his watch, "Do you have to go soon?"
"No, no, there's an eclipse this evening and I would like us both to see it. It will be cool."
"We don't have an eclipse filter."
"That's why we go...to the store!" grabbing my hand again, we run to the store and I'm out of breath by the time we get there.
"You have got to stop running."
"Oops, sorry. I forgot."
We walk around the store and finally find the eclipse eye filters. We buy two and leave.
"It should start soon, so let's go to the beach to see it better."
"Isn't it better up high?"
He thinks about it, "You're right. Let's climb that hill."
Pointing at it, I look and see a giant hill.
"That hill is huge! It's going to take an hour at least and be even more exhausting!"
"No worries, I have a plan."
We get to the hill and he crouches in front of me.
"Uh, Deku? What are you doing?"
"Get on."
"You want me to get on your back?"
"Yeah, you're exhausted right? You're small too so it won't be hard."
I climb on and wrap my arms around his neck and he holds my legs.
"Won't this take long-" I'm interrupting by a sudden whiplash when we starts running super fast, like Sonic The Hedgehog or something.
"DEKUUUU!!!!!"
When we reach the top of the hill, he stops and puts me down.
"Sorry that it took you by surprise, I just didn't wanna take too long."
"It's okay. We'll be on time now."
We sit on the grass with our legs dangling off the edge of the hill.
"It's almost there, see?"
I look through the filter and see the sun starting to get covered in black.
"It should be in just a few minutes now."
Nodding, I look at him and he looks back at me, "What?"
"Nothing, it's just...I do have something I want to talk about. When Hatsume told you that I had something to tell you, it was true."
"What is it?"
I look down at my hands, "We've been really good friends, and I'm glad that I've been your friend. You're so fun, cool, funny, and brave. You're an amazing person that cares about everyone and everything. You're there for your friends and All Might."
I look at him nervously, "But the thing is..." I stand up with my hands in fists, my face a tomato again, my eyes closed, and my face pointing at the ground.
Maybe it'll be better if I just spit it out instead.
"I LIKE YOU DEKU!"
Although my eyes are closed, I can tell that he's staring up at me, trying to process it I guess. The wind blows on my face but I still feel my cheeks burning.
Why isn't he saying anything!? Did I weird him out? No, no, no, I hope not. Great, Ochako, just great. Good job, you idiot!
But the next thing I feel, is hands on my cheeks and lips pressed on mine. I open my eyes to see whether I'm dreaming or not. I see Deku's eyes closed and his hands cupping my face as he's kissing me.
What's happening???
I close my eyes and kiss back anyway.
After a few seconds, he pulls away and we both open our eyes. I look into his and he smiles a little while holding my hands.
"I like you too. You're such a princess, Ochako. You're cute, funny, and beautiful. It's adorable when you turn red and get nervous, and your laugh is amazing. Your determination and courage is amazing and inspiring, you stand up for yourself and others, that makes you a great person."
I smile and he kisses my head.
"I was too nervous to tell you, the guys kept telling me to. But I guess your friends said the same thing."
"Yeah, haha. They're embarrassing."
I look over and see the eclipse.
"Deku!"
We get our filters and sit down to watch the eclipse that makes everything dark.
"Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?"
He looks at me, "Yes."
I blush and lay my head on his shoulder and he puts his arm around my shoulders. As soon as it's over, we leave and he walks me home.
"I had fun today, Deku. Thanks for hanging out with me."
"Likewise. Oh, and thanks for helping my mom with the dishes. It was nice of you."
"And maybe you should go about in your underwear more often."
We both laugh and watch him leave. I turn to open the door and get spun around aggressively.
"Kirishima!?"
"I've been looking for you all day!"
"Why!?"
"To ask you something!"
"Right now!?"
"Who won the fight!?"
"Fight!?"
"Midoriya or Katsuki!"
"Why do you care!?"
"TELL ME URARAKA! NOW!"
"DEKU WON!"
He lets go, looking mad and disappointed at the same time. I turn and run inside and lock the door.
This is gonna be bad.
