Chapter 4 - practice makes perfect

 We got to fire rock an landed there so that we could have a look at the beautiful view. But then I saw something incredible. I saw some little doves dancing together in the wind. I sang a little tune and the doves landed on my finger. They snuggled up to each other and kissed before I lifted my finger and they were off.

“I wish that we could do something like that one day shira”.

“Me too dawn”. I rested on her for a bit before humming a little tune I knew. But then I heard something rush. I then felt the wind on my skin an decided that we should get back. I jumped on shira an she was off. But then I thought of a cool trick I learnt from the books in the library.

I slowly got off the saddle while shira was flying an stood on it.

“Shira remember when I read to you about that book with the air tricks”.

“Yea”.

“Well let’s see if we can do one”. I jumped off the saddle and did a forward flip. I started to descend down an saw shira coming down with me. I felt the wind brush up against my hair. But then I saw the river and thought that I didn’t want to get wet. I quickly turned around an sat on the saddle an pulled the reins up an shira and I pulled up.

We then went on a straight course while I just rested on the saddle laughing about what I had just done. But then I heard someone behind us. I quickly sat up an saw a massive black dragon following us. It shot a black fire ball at me and I ducked.

“Shira we’ve got company”. The dragon fired another one and this time it hit me. I fell back but I was ok for now. I saw it fire again and this time we started going into a spiral an heading down.

“Oh shira pull up”. She did so an we pulled up. We were meter away from the ground but when we pulled up. I then saw the dragon fly away.

“What the heck was that”.

“It’s a dark dragon. There is only one of their kind and its rider is”.

“Darkest”.

“Yep”.

“We have to go back and warn the others”. We started to fly back as fast as we could. But then I saw the dragon again.

“Oh god its back”.

“We need to lose it. But how”. I stopped to think for a second before I pressed down on shira and saw the sparks coming out.

“Shira how fast can you fly.”

“About as fast as a jet why”.

“Because were about to go turbo fast. Hang on”. She flicked her wings up an I started to place a bunch of air in there. But when she shot them down we shot through the air an back to the palace. We landed on the ground but I was so stunned by the force I wasn’t concentrating.

I shook my head a few times an got my vision back to normal. I jumped off shira an walked her over to her sleeping space before I walked back to my office an sat down. But when I was about to pick up my next piece of paper to read I saw there wasn’t a pile next to me. I looked around my office an there were no more documents.

So instead I walked over to the sleepover room an tried to open the door but It was locked. I knocked on it and Ashley came out.

“Hey ash. I was just wondering if I could come inside”.

“Um actually dawn I have an important task to do inside and I need to be alone. You can sleep in your room for now though”.

“Oh um ok”. She closed the door and I just felt a bit sad. Why did she kick me out? Anyways I just walked down to my room and was about to open the door when dusk came out an locked the door.

“Um hey dusk. I was wondering if I could get into our room”.

“Oh um sorry dawn but there is something in there that I need to fix up first.” He smiled and kissed my forehead before leaving me in the hallway. I felt a bit heartbroken now. Why did dusk kick me out of my room now? There was only one other place I could go. Shira. I walked down the stairs and towards shira’s sleeping space when I got there though there was no shira an only a note.

I picked it up and saw it had shira’s print on it. That meant that she was busy. Why is everyone so busy today? So instead I walked over to my office and closed the door. I sighed because I didn’t know what everyone was doing today.

But then I heard little running feet and saw Kalina as cute as ever running towards me. I opened my arms an she jumped up and I caught her.

“Hey girl. Looks like it’s just you and me today.” But then I heard my phone ring. I placed Kalina in my other arm an picked up the phone.

“Hello”.

“Dawn how lovely to hear from you again”. I stumbled back an fell to my chair. The person on the phone was someone I hadn’t heard from in a year. It was Zac. I breathed in before I spoke.

“What do you want Zac”.

“What can’t I call an say hello to you after I haven’t seen you in so long. Oh an I must say you look beautiful today.” He was near my window. I looked over to it an walked over. When I did I saw a black car parked outside.

“Thanks an you do too. Now leave here now or ill call the guards”.

“Now why would you do that? I just came to as for something I want”.

“What is that”.

“Your immortality”.

“Listen to me you son of a bitch. You’re never getting your hands on me or my immortality understand now you better get out of here in the next 10 seconds or you’ll be spending your nights in a cell from now on”. I hung up an saw Zac drive away in the black car. I closed my curtains and the door before I got changed into my night gown I had in my shoulder bag an started to set up the couch for a bed.

I grabbed my blanket an pulled It over me an rested my head on the pillow. I grabbed Kalina an she rested on me. I smiled at her an kissed her softly before I close my eyes an fell asleep
