SECRETS

KRUEL's P.O.V

Azazel finally got some sleep after her attack. As promised, I didn't leave her side. I mean.... how could I?

Just the thought of leaving her made my chest twist in the most unbearable way ever. I was afraid for her.

I, Alpha Kruel, was afraid.

Can you believe that?

I was scared to death that she wouldn't open her eyes again. Scared that the pain she felt wouldn't go away. I usually stuck to concern for people but I was never afraid. Not even for Zarya.

What happened to Azazel yesterday had me staying up all night just watching over her. She was such a beauty in her sleep that I couldn't stop myself from moving a few strands of hair away from her face. My other hand remained in hers because I feared that the pain would come back and I genuinely liked the feeling of her hand in mine. I didn't sleep beside her on the bed because I knew she wouldn't hesitate to incarcerate me.

When I felt her stir in her sleep, I tried to retrieve my hand from hers but she tightened her grip and unconsciously pulled it to her chest as if it were a tiny teddy bear. It was quite adorable and a little uncomfortable because my hand laid right on her clothed chest.

She was definitely right when she said she wasn't as small as I thought she was.

The peace she seemed to have been in disappeared as a scowl took over her features and low whimpers followed after. She was having a nightmare and I thought about waking her up but the inaudible words that escaped her lips prevented me from doing so because I thought I heard her wrong.

She said it again and I froze.

"No, not my mate. You can't hurt him, Pandora."

Pandora?

It sounded so familiar.

Then it clicked.

But she couldn't be the same one I knew, right?

"No stop! Leave him alone." That was the last thing she said before she jolted up in the bed. I quickly retrieved my hand from hers as I watched her frantically look around the room until her eyes met mine.

"You okay?" I ask standing from my seat, eyeing her cautiously.

She just nodded her head 'yes' before running her hands over her face and into her hair.

"I'm going to make you something to eat. I'll be right back." With that, I left and went downstairs.

My mind kept drifting off to Pandora.

The one that I knew made my family's life miserable.

She was a witch that lived within the pack with her daughter. She was so convinced that her daughter and I were mates but that only happened in very unlikely cases. There was a tiny possibility that we were mates but when I became of age to sniff out my mate, it wasn't her.

Pandora wasn't happy about it so she left the pack with her daughter and started hurting my family.

One by one.

My dad was the first.

He fell extremely ill one day and it was a shock to everyone because werewolves don't fall sick. We figured it was black magic so we took him to a nearby witch coven where a white witch friend of mine helped us break the spell.

Then it was Zarya.

She fell into a deep sleep and no amount of white witch power could wake her up. We were both eighteen at the time. She had just found out that Christian was her mate and on instinct, we thought her strange abilities interfered with the mate bond therefore causing a defect in her.
