EVEN IF IT BREAKS YOU
KRUEL's P.O.V
The green eyed lady whose name I still didn't know led me to a flower garden that was really attractive to the eyes.
It was nothing like I'd ever seen before.
But I wasn't here to look at pretty flowers.
She took a blue flower from her garden and showed it to me.
"What do you call this flower?" She asked and I eyed her weirdly. Were we really going to discuss flowers?
Nevertheless, I responded. "It's a camellia." I knew it because so many surrounded my mother when we found her dead body in the forest.
"That's my name." She smiled brightly at me before placing the plant back with the rest. The roots of the camellia found their way back into the earth with the help of her magic.
"Do you have a liking for nature?" She asked as we sat on a bench.
"You seem to know all the answers to every question you ask, Camellia." I tested her name out and it felt oddly familiar on my tongue, "I'm inclined to just shut up and let you answer them on your own."
"I didn't bring you out here to start a verbal war, Kruel." She sighed, "It's a place of peace so I'd appreciate it if we respected that little fact."
Taking a deep breath, I remained silent and focused on the flowers. It was a great collection and the different kinds of flowers blended well with each other.
"You knew my mother." She started, "You've hated her for years now and you'd do anything to find her and end her."
And then realization hit me like a fúcking brick.
That's why she knew so much about me. Her mother was...
"Pandora. That was her name." She looked at me with sadness in her eyes and I had to fight every bone in my body from moving away from her. "I know that it must be hard-"
"Hard?" I couldn't believe that hard was the pathetic word she used to describe how I felt. "Your mother murdered mine and drove my father to madness." I gritted out. "Hard doesn't quite fit the entire scenario, Camellia." I spat.
"And I couldn't agree more. You aren't the only one that wants her dead."
‘Wants? Kruel, I think the psychopath is still alive.’ Eren, as shocked as I was, voiced out.
"I grew this garden when I was seventeen." She swiftly changed the subject, "After leaving the only place that I called home, this garden was the next best thing. The flowers were my only form of comfort because mother dearest was getting tired of taking care of me and she was rarely home so I didn't really have a choice."
Hurt.
That's all I could detect from her venomous tone.
She was hurt that her own mother neglected her.
The sad smile on her face made it more and more evident that her mother tried to break her by driving her to her insanity.
A little like Azazel's childhood with her insane father and the nine witches that tried to drive her curse out of her.
"I couldn't take it anymore. All her torture drove me to the brink of madness. But I found a way to temporarily stop her from using me as a vessel and when she found out..." I looked at her to see her eyes shut closed. "Well, let's just say she wasn't happy about it."
