Chapter 10

#33828's POV

I was woken up by the smell of soup. I opened my eyes and saw Fiona sitting in a chair by my bed. She was holding a tray with a small bowl of soup on it.

"Mornin'," she said. "It's already the 26th of August, can you believe it?"
"I know, right?"I said, as Fiona handed me the tray. I was so happy to have hot food.

"So, how did you get to the base?" I asked Fiona, after finishing my soup.
"As I said, a cab!"Fiona said sarcastically.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "no, like, how did you find it and get in?"
"Well, did you know that I can hack stuff?" Fiona smirked.
I stared at her in shock. "NO, I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!"
Fiona smiled. "Well, I hacked into your Google account and found the coordinates, then adjusted my fingerprint with a knife so it was the same as yours..."
"Wait, you HACKED into MY Google account?" I clarified.
"I only used it for maps, I promise," Fiona apologized.
"Okay, I forgive you. Just, is your finger okay? You might want to get that checked out by one of the first aid Walkers," I forgave her. She's my best friend.
"Yeah, Imma do that now..." Fiona showed me her finger. It was bleeding and slightly swollen. Fiona then went off to get a first aid Walker.

A couple minutes later, Fiona came back to my bedside in, guess what? A white hoodie.
"I didn't think it was that bad, did you?" She said, flipping her dark brown wavy hair to the right.
"Yes, Fiona. Yes I did." I told her.
"They want me to come here once every hour to treat my finger for a week before I'll no longer be a patient. Uggggh," Fiona whined.

"Then again," I sighed and frowned. "I have it worse. I have damaged lungs and can't breathe without a machine, so I have to stay here for 2 more days, or longer, until my lungs heal enough to breathe with, and then when I can finally leave the medical room, I have to wear a white hoodie everywhere I go, and Alan wants me to wear this everywhere I go for the rest of my life, and-" One of the machines started beeping really fast, and I went silent. I held up the mask Alan had given me. Fiona wrapped me in a hug, and grabbed my free hand, putting it on her chest. I felt her heartbeat, and it calmed me slightly.

"Just.. breathe, okay? Stay calm," Fiona looked me in the eyes. I raised an eyebrow. "Umm, well, calm yourself, focus on that part," Fiona laughed nervously.

I started to calm down, and eventually, my heart slowed to a normal pace.

"Thank you, Fiona, but, you have it so much better than I do..." I stuttered.

"Well, you should consider yourself lucky," Fiona said in a duh tone.

"How?" I asked. How could I be lucky? You see, I'm stuck in a hospital bed for a couple more days and I'm gonna be a patient for a couple more wee-

"Well, I don't know," she said sarcastically, interrupting my thoughts. "Maybe because you were saved from the police by that watch thingy Alan had sent you when you registered as a Walker, and then he saved you and the other Walkers from the SWAT team, and the Alan Walker, your idol, saved you, personally, from a toxic gas, and gave you a new mask, which seems so much nicer than your old one. How aren't you lucky?"

Fiona held up my old mask. It was just a piece of black fabric from an old t-shirt that I had cut and tied to fit my head. I blushed slightly.

"Wow, I really am lucky!" I exclaimed as I thought about the situation I was in. My idol, Alan Walker, just saved my life. Next time he comes in, we need to take a selfie. Which then reminded me: "Wait, I need to take a selfie."

"Umm okay..." Fiona shrugged.

I reached down to grab my hoodie. I remembered that I had put my phone in its pocket. Hopefully it's still there. I was just able to grab the hoodie with two fingers and pull it towards me. I stuck my hand in the left pocket and felt something cold.. my phone and the charge cable!

I pressed the home button, and the screen illuminated. I shielded my eyes from the screen brightness, and then turned the brightness down. 12:16pm. It's already noon? I shook my head in disbelief. I showed it to Fiona. She nodded. Wow. Time flies when you sleep.

I swiped left, and flipped to the selfie camera. I was slightly surprised to see that there were wires and tubes all around my face: by my mouth and nose especially. I took some selfies, and unlocked my phone. I opened Discord and messaged the Walkers' official unofficial group chat, W4LK3R F4M1LY, saying that I'm alive. Tons of Walkers messaged back promptly. I told them they could come visit me in the medical room.

A couple minutes of me and Fiona chatting later, and Alan and another Walker came in. This was my chance for a selfie.

Lol.

Anyway,

The Walker looked me in the eyes, and started running towards me. Alan followed behind, but not running. Just walking. The Walker stopped and turned to look at Alan. She pointed in my direction, and asked Alan something.
"Yeah, that's her," Alan smiled.
The Walker and Alan walked(😂)over to my bed.

"Hey, #33828! It's me, #23653!" The Walker exclaimed.
