3rd POV

Meanwhile...

Anaielle, Fiona and Ava were in the main hall together, sitting against the wall, watching the other Walkers socialize with each other.

"So, what do you guys think?" Ava asked Anaielle and Fiona.

"Think about what?" Fiona tilted her head in confusion.

"Life, the universe and everything," Ava said, not realizing that she quoted The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

"Well, the answer is 42," Anaielle laughed.

"Ha ha, very funny, Anaielle," Ava rolled her eyes. "But I meant, like, what do you think about life right now? Living here with other Walkers in this underground base, knowing that you are one of the few people left on the planet after the world was destroyed?"

"Well, I have to admit, I feel sorta lonely," Anaielle sighed. "I feel horrible for poor Daph, that she has the lung problems..."

"We all do, panda," Fiona wrapped an arm around Anaielle.

"I also really miss my family and friends," Anaielle continued.

"Well, at least we have each other, right?" Ava wrapped her arm around Anaielle from the other side.

Ava and Fiona locked eyes.

They've never met.

Awkward.

"I don't think we've met, hi, I'm Fiona, one of Daph's other friends," Fiona introduced herself to Ava.

"Hey, I'm Ava, one of Daph's other friends," Ava introduced herself to Fiona.

"In my opinion," Fiona said. "So far, I kinda like the situation we're in. I mean, I don't like snow and cold and the fact that the world was destroyed and we're the last things left on it. But I'm sorta glad, in a way. The world is in the hands of the Walkers now. I have faith in us that we can reverse the damage that was done to our planet. There's no Planet B, so we got a free 'restart game' ticket."

"That was the deepest thing I've ever heard you say, Miss Fiona Fletcher," Anaielle said in a surprised tone.

"I tried," she smirked.

"I agree with both of you, but I also think that it's kinda nerve-racking in a way. So many people I've never met are now people I have to get used to seeing around. But then again, it's an excuse to meet new people. Sort of like when I moved to British Columbia. But a bit different," Ava stared up at the ceiling and fiddled with her glasses.

"So, Ava, I didn't know you had glasses," Anaielle said, a little confused.

Ava took off her glasses and handed them to Anaielle. "Here, try them on, I have a couple spare pairs in my bag."

Anaielle gave Ava a skeptical look, and tried them on. She noticed that they weren't prescription glasses. She looked at Ava with the glasses on, and a number hovered over her head. #41673. Ava's Walker ID.

"They're called Walker glasses. They allow you to see whether or not someone is a real Walker or not by showing their Walker ID above their head," Ava described exactly how the glasses work.

Anaielle took them off. "Wow, these are really cool!"

Ava smiled. "You can keep'em, they suit you, and I have a bunch of spares."

"Thanks Ava!" Anaielle put the glasses on again.

"No prob," she winked and pulled two more pairs of glasses out of her bag. She handed a set to Fiona and put on the other pair. "Let's go make some friends."

The three stood up and went over to the crowd of Walkers to join in on their conversation.

One of the Walkers, which the Walker glasses identify as Walker #42273, noticed Ava, Anaielle and Fiona join them.

"Hey, have either of you three seen Alan?" They asked.

"No, not since yesterday afternoon," Anaielle shook her head.

"Nope, sorry," Ava said.

"Neither have we," another Walker, Walker #31690, said. "He just sorta disappeared on the 14th and we haven't seen him since..."

"Maybe he's off cheating on Viivi some more with that girl..." Walker #36386 said. "Wait... where's Viivi?"

"Maybe she's with Alan? Maybe they got back together?" Fiona suggested.

"I have a weird feeling that he's with our sister, Daph," said Walker #23653. 6 other Walkers nodded in agreement.

"Hey, I like your glasses," Walker #42273 said to Fiona, Anaielle and Ava. "Where'd you get them?"

Fiona looked at Anaielle. Anaielle looked at Ava.

"I made them. I worked for a tech giant," Ava replied.

"Which one?" Fiona asked.

"Apple," Ava answered.

"Cool! I worked for Apple's software department for a couple months, but I quit," Fiona responded.

"Nice," Ava remarked.
