Chapter 20

Fiona(Imma just call her Fio now to annoy her, lol)'s POV:

I got a text from an unknown number as I was packing up my laptop and stuff.

'Hey Fio, it's Alan-o.' the message said. Oh. Okay. I put his number in my contacts as Alan-o, Daph's brother, and continued to pack up my stuff.

While packing up my stuff, my laptop turned on randomly. I looked over at it. No notifications. No alarms, timers, or stopwatches. I didn't just start or stop charging it. Weird. Then I noticed my wallpaper. My wallpaper automatically changed to a picture of Potato(a perfect new name for Fio's oldest brother), Smig, and I, when we were little. I held back my tears. I knew I probably wasn't gonna see them again.

I closed my laptop and put it in my backpack. I continued to pack my other stuff.

Ten minutes later, I was all packed up. I couldn't help wondering if Alan has found out about me stealing all of the Red Bull from the minifridge in his supposed-to-be-secret lounge under the giant potato statue...

If he hasn't...

I'm keeping that secret to my GRAVE.

Anywho, I picked up my bags and left Alan's supposed-to-be-secret-but-not-so-secret-if-you're-a-hacker lounge under the potato statue, and jogged to the sleeping quarters, and up the stairs to the cafeteria, where I saw Alan-o waiting at a table, holding a potato..?

"Is that... a..." I raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, it's my potato-son-pet. Chayton II. Don't look at me like that, Daph has one too, the Almighty potato," Alan interrupted me. "You should get yourself one, #23653 says that they're good luck!"

"Yeah... She threw him at me once or twice, and videoed it and put it on Facebook..." I reflected as I went to the storage room, where the Walkers keep the potatoes, and picked out a round one with a couple spots on it. I found a sharpie on the ground and wrote my name on the potato. I dropped the marker and left the storage room with my potato. I sat down with Alan at the table.

Then, I saw Daph come up the stairs, with her gray backpack loaded and her potato in her hands. She smiled, trying to cover up how her face was filled with nervousness. "Hey, Alan and Fio!"

"Heyo, Dapho," I smiled weakly.

Alan got a weird look on his face. "Hold on..."

"Yeah..." Daph said, tilting her head.

"Where is your mask, Miss Dapho AKA Walker Number Three Three Eight Two Eight?" Alan said, half-shouting.

"Uh..." Daph took off her backpack and unclipped her mask from one of the keyrings on the bag. "It's here, in my hand..."

"Put it on," Alan smiled creepily.

"Okay..." She put on the mask, and slung her backpack over her shoulder.

Alan smiled, a bit more normal this time. "Thank you," he said.

"You're welcome..." Daph said nervously.

"So, does everyone have all their stuff packed up and with them?" Alan asked. We nodded in sync.
"You two are weird..." He looked at the two of us.
"We know!" We said in sync.
"Please stop... you're scaring me now..." Alan said, slightly surprised.
"Okay, we'll stop," I said apologetically.

"So, are we ready to leave this place?" Alan asked us. I nodded.

"I'm as ready as I'll ever be..." Daph shrugged.
