3rd POV
Meanwhile,
The first aid Walkers were busy doing their own thing when a young Walker and a slightly older Walker rush in.
The younger Walker, who goes by her name, Rachel, has long wavy brown hair, hazel eyes and pale skin. She is only fourteen and about 4'11" (or however you write it). She was wearing a pair of worn out blue jeans and a black zip up hoodie. She's usually quite optimistic, but her thirteen year old sister who she nicknames Rox died to the solar storm.
The slightly older Walker, who also goes by his name, Dante, has short curly black hair, dark brown eyes and tanned skin. He is eighteen and about 5 feet tall. He was wearing a black and fluorescent green Young & Reckless hoodie and black jeans, torn at the knees. He's the type of guy who always brings his (five) hoodies with him when he leaves home. He had a seven year old sister, and many friends including the Justins R and F, and a guy named Rob, who all died to the solar storm, but Dante tends to recover quickly and is done grieving about his losses.
Dante and Rachel are not a thing. They used to be neighbours, but before Rachel left for the meeting spot on Cape Breton Island, she warned Dante about the war about to start, and they left together. Rachel, Dante and Daph all went to the same elementary school, and Dante and Daph went to the same high school.
"Dante! Rachel! What's up?" One of the first aid Walkers looked up from their current task.
"There are..." Rachel started the sentence, but couldn't finish it.
Dante gulped. "We went outside to look around, and there were maggots everywhere," he finally said.
"What? Did you just say maggots?" The first aid Walker responded.
"Everywhere," Rachel nodded.
"We need to warn everyone!" The first aid Walker exclaimed.
Alan's POV
I was pinged. For the five billionth time today. I actually checked it this time.
It was a first aid Walker.
Uh oh.
The message read:
Alan it's an emergency come to the medical room now!!!
"Oh... something just came up, I have to go," I told Vi and Daph, who just finished their cans of Red Bull, and Daph had just put her mask back on.
"Can we come?" Viivi asked.
"Sure," I shrugged for the five billionth time today.
I ran up the stairs and to the medical room, the girls on my heels.
"What's wrong?" I asked the first first aid Walker I saw. I apologize for that sentence.
Two other Walkers, a boy who looked Daph's age, but if so, he must be very short to be eighteen, and a girl who looked maybe thirteen, looked up at me. "Outside, there are maggots everywhere," one of them said.
"That's a problem," I said worriedly. "I think we should get some AV-8s out there so we know how bad it really is, before we make any other moves."
The first aid Walkers nodded. A couple of them left with AV-8s in hand.
*10 min. later*
The first aid Walkers that left earlier burst through the door. They looked mentally scarred for life.
"Alan, it's really bad out there," one of them said.
"It's like your worst nightmare," another said, quivering.
"I'll go out and check for myself," I told them.
"But..." one of them said. "What about Viivi? What about Daph Walker? If something happens to you, what will they do?"
The Walker who looked about Daph's age got a strange look on his face. He looked at Daph, and she looked at him.
"Dante?" Daph asked excitedly. He nodded.
"Daph?" Dante asked. She nodded happily.
"Great to see you again," Dante sighed. "So, why are you so clingy to Alan Walker?"
"Oh, you didn't hear? I'm his sister," Daph explained.
Dante laughed, but Daph gave him a serious look, and he stopped laughing. "Oh, seriously? That's cool," Dante nodded wisely.
"Yeah, sort of like my childhood and teenage dream come true," Daph nodded.
"Nice merch, by the way," Dante said and flicked one of the valves on Daph's mask.
"Thanks, I guess," Daph replied, trying to look away.
"You know, I'll take your word for it. So, it's bad out there?" I asked a first aid Walker. They nodded, shaking.
I thought about the predicament I was in. We were in. Maggots are disgusting.
"Well, let's just try and make sure that only a few Walkers are allowed out to try and fix this mess," I suggested. The first aid Walkers nodded and got back to work.
Viivi, Daph and I left the medical room and walked back downstairs, but as I went into the main hall, Viivi pulled Daph aside.
Viivi's POV
I pulled Alan's little sister to the other end of the main hall. "So," I smiled, as if I won my own contest. "Who's Dante?"
"Just an old friend," she said and immediately looked away.
"Are you sure?" I smirked and raised an eyebrow.
"Okay, fine. Me and Dante have always been friends, but I've had a huge crush on him since fifth grade," Daph admitted. "But he doesn't like me back, so things are a little awkward between us. Especially since I have a boyfriend."
"Oh," I responded, trying to avoid an awkward silence.
Daph walked away, in search of Fiona I'm guessing.
I walked over to Alan and smiled. "So..."
*A few hours later*
Alan and I were just.......... doing some stuff...... you know what I mean........... and he gets pinged from the first aid Walkers again. Horrible timing.
The message said:
Hey Alan we just reprogrammed the entrance/exits so they will only work for first aid Walkers and you or anyone related to you by blood, we hope that works for you
He replied with "ok" and forwarded the message to his sister. Then he sent another message to her. It read:
Promise me that you won't go out there until we fix this mess or if you're with me
He almost instantly recieved a reply:
Ok I promise
He put his phone away. "Sorry about that."
We continued doing what we were doing.
