Matt
"So what are you applying for anyway" I ask, struggling to make my journey with Jenna a lot less awkward. I realize she's one heck of a thinker, because at the end of my sentence she's murmuring incoherently to herself, which is kind of cute, might I add. I try not to stare too long at her, and I reluctantly shift my gaze to an arguing couple at the end of our hallway.
"I'm applying for a job at amazon." She replies finally, looking up and meeting my gaze. I hold her gaze, and her eyes are filled with a mixture of hurt and anger.
"A job at amazon? Why's that?" I ask, tearing my gaze off hers.
"Why do you care?" She snaps rudely, and I wonder where I'd gone wrong. "Did you suddenly forget that I wasn't your type?".Well, that explains the little tap I'd heard on my door.
" You shouldn't have eavesdropped on our conversation " I say casually, taking longer strides to meet up with her scurrying feet.
"OH. I'M SO SORRY MATT MILLER. I SHOULDN'T HAVE EAVESDROPPED ON YOUR PETTY GOSSIP" She screams at the top of her lungs, creating quite a scene.
"It wasn't gossip" I mutter, hoping there's enough drama going on in the hallway for anyone to notice this one.
"WELL, YOU SURE DID TALK BEHIND MY BACK!!! AND WHAT'S THAT CALLED?" she asks, yanking at the collar of my shirt, which had been creaseless until this very moment. "This is ridiculous" I sign, shoving her gently into my room.
"What's the matter with you?" I ask, running my fingers through my hair. She really is a pain in the ass.
"SO NOW I'M THE ONE WITH THE MATTER?" She asks, jabbing a finger at me. It takes so much effort to not burst out laughing.
"Well, your the one screaming" I say with a chuckle, clearing a spot on my bed for her to sit. "Why do you care if your my type anyway?" Surprisingly, her voice comes off as a shrill, and I barely hear it.
"Because I want to be your type, Matt Miller". In that moment, all that exists is Jennifer Moore and Matt Miller, and before I can stop myself, I slam my lips into hers.
