Chapter 14: 24 Hours

Maze, Amenadiel and Chloe figured out that the place in which they were to meet God was the beach in Santa Monica.The same place in which Maze cut Lucifer's wings, were Lucifer sent his mother into a new universe and were Chloe kissed Lucifer for the first time. They arrived a few minutes before 4am and stood out in the sand, waiting for the all mighty to arrive. A light was seen from the sky as three large white horse came into view. The horses seemed to fly and gracefully landed exactly 5 feet away from them. Gabriel was at one end and Ramiel on the other, clearly guarding. Amenadiel bowed before his father as Maze looked at God with a deadly gaze.

God had a light gold robe with a velvet red cloak. He spoke gently, " I'm glad that you were all able to make it. Greating Chloe, Daniel, Ella, Amenadiel and Mazikeen". Maze's gaze didn't change, " My son Samael is home. I have decided that there is were he shall remain. Were he will be safe from any harm". Maze's blood boiled at that, " Excuse me! GOD! But you can't keep Lucifer there forever. I know him better than you and I know he will never stand for this!". God remained calm in his answer, " I know Mazikeen but my decision is done. I also know that you all have a special connection with Samael and that's why I will grant you all only 24 hours with him until I take him back." and in a blink of an eye he was gone.

Samael held onto Michael as they arrived at a building. His brother had told him that this place was called the City of Los Angeles. Sam took a look around but smiled with glee when he spotted the piano, just like the one in his room, in heaven. He ran to it and sat down. His fingers started to play a hip and calm melody. No matter what age he was, his playing was as beautiful as ever. He began to sing as his brother looked on, smiling at him.

"There must be some kind of way outta here
Said the joker to the thief
There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief

No reason to get excited
The thief he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
But, uh, but you and I, we've been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us stop talkin' falsely now
The hour's getting late, hey!"

(The team entered the Penthouse by using the stairs and stop in their tracks when they see a little boy who looked a lot like Lucifer. They did not make a sound but listened. )

"All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants, too
Outside in the cold distance!
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl"

His finger moved quickly along the keys as he slowed to a stop. The child's scent was familiar, Lucifer? Maze was the first to step out of the door, she twisted her knives, for there was another present. Samael looked at her and knew exactly who she was, a demon. Maze approached and the boy took out his wings and shield himself. Amenadiel stepped in, " Maze! You're scaring him", right then and there Michael stepped out of the shadows, " Hello Mazikeen. I see you haven't changed a bit. Hello Amenadiel. Hello humans. Come out, I won't bite". Amenadiel hugged his brother and looked down at his little brother, " Hello Sam. It's Me. Amenadiel". Samael opened his wings to his brother and hugged him. Maze lowed herself to the child's level and gave him a smile. She extended her hand, " Hi Samael. My name is Maze. I'm sorry if I scared you. I wasn't doing it at you. I was trying to protect you", Lucifer was hesitant on taking her hand. He looked into her eyes and saw love. He knew that he shouldn't trust a demon but something told him that he could trust her. After, a long moment he took her hand. Maze hugged him and tears soon came. Maze had never felt so alone since Lucifer was declared dead. She held her little devil close to her and promised him that she was never going to let anything happen to him again.

Chloe, Ella, Linda and Daniel had to approach Lucifer the same way Maze had done. For everything that was humanity, was new to him. Michael opened his wings, which cough the attention of everyone. " Father, God will be here in 24 hours for him. ( turned to his little brother and messed up his hair) Be a good little angel Sam and have fun. Remember, you can always call me if you need me", Sam nodded and said fair well to his brother. In a blink of an eye Michael was gone. Time was running at 6: AM.
