Chapter 15: Lucifer! Lucifer! Lucifer!

When Chloe and the team returned from a long car ride. A few unwanted visitors awaited them there. God stood in the middle of the room, along with Michael, Luz, Azreal, Amenadiel and Gabriel. Upon seeing God again, Chloe held on to Lucifer tightly everyone else tensed up. " It's time to go home my son", God said softly. Lucifer looked up to Chloe who was know crying as she held him closer. He did not know why she was crying if they had a great time but despite his age. He knew that it had to do with his leaving, that it hurt her. Michael had, had enough of this sobbing and marched up to Chloe. As Michael got closer, Maze jumped in front of Chloe only to be tossed to the wall. Dan and Ella didn't want to interfer with God's plans but no one takes one of their own. So, Dan took out his gun and Ella took out her rifle and made a protective circle around Chloe and Lucifer.

God told them that nothing would prevent them from taking Lucifer back. Ella and Dan started firing at God and the Angels but it did nothing. The bullets just bounced off. Michael and Gabriel tackled them both tossed them to the other side of the room. " Chloe, I'm starting to lose my patience. Give me back my son or I'll take back the gift that I gave you". Chloe's heart was split two ways. She couldn't lose her daughter but she couldn't renounce Lucifer as well. Amenadiel kneeled down, " Chloe. Think about your daughter. This is no time to be selfish. Lucifer needs father as much as Trixie needs you. You are not the type to take a child away from his family". Chloe cried as she made the hardest decision. She released the little angel who ran to Michael, scared of the resent crossfire. Michael carried his little brother and gave an angry look at Decker before flying off along side father and other siblings. Chloe ran to the balcony as she witnessed her little angel being taken from her. She yelled his name, hoping to see him flying back to her side. She she cried as she cursed the heavens for taking the man she loved.

That night everyone mourned the loss of Lucifer, including Dan. Sure Lucifer and him never had the best relationship but he always had Chloe's best intentions in mind. Ella couldn't understand why God would do such a thing. Even though his decision was good for a thing, forgiving his son and welcoming him back home but it also caused a lot of pain. No one ever asked Lucifer if this is what he wanted and knowing Lucifer. He wouldn't stand being healed in heaven. Linda knew that god wanted a fresh start and in doing so, erased his son's memories and turned him into a child. He might have taken Lucifer's memories away but that doesn't change Lucifer's decisions from being his own. Maze kicked Amenadiel's ass for not stopping his father. Even though there was nothing he could have done to prevent his father's plan.

Back at the station everyone stopped Chloe to tell her that they were sorry for her partner's death. It felt right even though he was still alive. It was as if he was dead. The station brought in a large framed picture of Lucifer, with the frame decorated with red and white flowers. Everyone was given a shot of Lucifer's favorite whiskey. Rick stood on the stairs with a heavy heart she delivered her speech, " I want everyone's attention because we have lost one of our own. Lucifer Morningstar was one of us and I got to know him as well as everyone here. He always got out of his way to help another and he always had a smile for every one of us. When he got Gin out of that burning building he was not thinking of himself, he was thinking of saving a life. That is something we should all admire and try to follow in his footsteps. He died in the line of duty but his sacrifice will be forever be remembered and honored. Hold up your glasses and let's drink to our fallen Civilian Consultant.... To Lucifer!". Everyone lifted their glasses " To Lucifer!", and drank down the aber liquid.

Chloe was placed on desk duty for four weeks because of her deep sorrow. She was out of it and couldn't handle a case yet. After those four weeks, Chloe was partnered to Dan. The case was about a girl who was found dead near a park. Chloe was the first to enter the car and she cried as she took something in her hands. Dan entered the car and sat on the driver's seat. He saw Chloe crying softly, holding an empty honey jar, " I took him on a car ride last night. This is the last thing he ate...". Sadness took over her as she remembered him sitting in her seat, licking the honey off his spoon. Dan took in a shaky breath as he drove to the crime scene. Dan got out of the car and joined Ella at the crime scene. " How is she doing?", Ella asks worried fir her friend. Dan looks as Chloe steps out of the car with dark sunglasses, " She pretends to be ok. Tries to be strong but she is not ok. Each time I say that we have a case she always looks to her side in hopes to see him there or hoping to see him waltz under the yellow tape. Not to mention, the other day she cried because she found the wrapper of Lucifer's chips inside her desk". Ella listened to him but told him that Lucifer's leaving had affected everyone. It was ture, Lucifer was a valuable member to the station.  Cases piled up and crime scenes became more dull and plain.

Then one night, when the moon was full. Chloe took a hot but hot as hell shower. She used enough hot water to
make the mirror foggy. After 40 minutes of hot water running down her back, Chloe finally turned off the steaming water. She hurried to dry herself and she lit two candles. With her finger she drew a pentagram on the mirror and she opened an old book that she found in the church of the dark lord. Flipping through the pages she stopped on page 66 which revealed the devil's prayer.

"O Mighty Dark Lord

By whom all things are set afire

Thy power be the path

Thy will be my desire

In hell as it is on earth

Praise Samael!"

As she said his name the candles turned off. Chloe looked at the mirror in hopes that her summons worked. Then Maze out of nowhere appeared behind her. Chloe screamed but was muffled by Maze's hands, " Quite down Decker. You know, these types of things don't work. You humans always complicate things. If you truly want him to actually get your message Decker ,just pray. Talk to him as you would normally do. It could be silent or out loud". Maze put her hands together, closed her eyes and Chloe did the same. Each said their prayers and now all they had to do was wait.

Sam was playing with his father when a ringing entered his ear. It was a loud whisper, two voices saying the same thing, "Lucifer! Lucifer! Lucifer!". The voices seemed familiar as if he had heard them before. He did not say anything to his father about it but did tell Azreal. Azreal had a hunch on who sent the prayer.

Lucifer grew up to his normal handsome self within a few weeks of being back in heaven but it was beyond normal. He was a soldier of his father, he had become everything his formal self despised. He did remember his 24 hours on earth with fondness but the voices in his ears were always there since that visit. Jane entered Sam's bed chamber and sang him a song as he slept. Her fingers went through his hair and her hands traced his face with kindness.

At the beginning of the song, Lucifer twisted and turned as his memories came flying back to him. When he woke up, he was a little confused but Jane soothed him. When his father came to see him that afternoon, Lucifer was not angered at his father for intervening with his life but grateful. Thanks to his father he was alive and Gin was out of harm's way. He made a deal with his daddy and it was time to pay up. He was a devil of his word and there was no going back.

Twice or five times a day he would listen to different prayers but the most constant prayers would always be from Ella, Chloe and Trixie. Once in a while it would be Dan, Maze, Linda or his brother Amenadiel.
It was always a one way conversation but how he loved listening to them. It was hard to tell how long it has been since his last visit to earth but all he knew is that he was missed.
