Chapter Thirty-two

Sage's PoV

Sitting up incredibly fast, my movements violent and unexpected causing the sleeping marksman beside me to wake up and pull a handgun on me "Sage..?" He asks after realising it was me who freaked out "what's wrong? Why are you crying?" He asks, lifting my hand I hover my fingertips over the tears that are streaming down my cheeks "I-.. I don't know..." I whisper, feeling his arms wrap around me I try to calm myself down, my jaw clenched "It's okay..." he whispers, staring at the bedsheets I close my eyes tightly before looking down.

Pulling my usual skin tight black shirt on I pull my jacket on soon after "You Ready?" Levi asks as he exits the bathroom I smile and nod "Come on nerd, let's go kick the nerds downstairs asses at this endurance test." I smirk, watching him laugh I follow him out of the room.

Standing with my shoulder pressed against the doorframe, Levi stood in front of me silently whilst Hugo, Balthazar and Amanda stand near Bonita and Karma "The endurance test!" Glancing over to one of the other task force members - Jeffrey of the Hunters Troupe "I'm going to ace this!" He beams, scowling I inhale as the governors enter with one of the head of galactic council, tapping my fingertips against my right arm, the metal echoing slightly as I look around at all the different soldiers and members of different task forces that signed up for this. One of the head of the galactic council clears her throat "Morning all, I am Madam Gina King. I will be the overseer of this test. This is Kian Murray, he will be holding the weapon in which your enduring." She explains, furrowing my brows I look around "This sword was infused with the blood of a demon, We call it Infernal." She says as she looks at Kian, looking to Levi I shake my head "This is... this is nothing." I mumble, Gina pointing to me "This is nothing you say? Lets see you say that when your on the floor crying in pain. A demon is something you shouldn't mess around with! They are evil, diabolical creatures." She says sternly, wincing I swallow a lump as I look down.

"If you manage to survive this, be sure to tell me how it feels." Kian says sternly as he draws the sword known as Infernal, a deathly black liquid begins pouring out of the sword's metal and onto the floor, Kian slamming the sword down into the ground causing the planet to crack, the black liquid moves through the cracks and seeps towards the edge of the room, soldiers struggling to keep themselves up fall to their knees, some gripping the sides of the walls screaming at the pain, whilst some lay flat out on their backs gripping their chests and heads. Looking to Levi who's on his knees gripping the wall I grab his hand "Levi!" I shout, picking him up I hold him to my chest "This isn't right." I growl "Right you are Human!" Looking down at a bundle of the black liquid, Kian, Gina and the governors watching in keen interest "Oh... Oh your not human.. Your like me but your not..." He says, scowling I clench my jaw "A demon definitely... but there's something else inside of you. How bizarre..." He whispers, inhaling I look down at Levi "A bealayion, The Demon dragon." I say finally, hearing him hum in interest he liquefies himself to take on the form of a human body "A demonic dragon... so do you have demon blood in you?" He asks, swallowing I look down "I do but I'm not like you. I have morals." I return "Morals you say? If I didn't have morals do you think anyone in this room would be alive, Hybrid?" He asks, looking down at Levi again who's breathing heavily "If you can control yourself Demon, Stop hurting my squad. Or else I'll make you." I growl, the demon chirping his form steps backs "Your a feisty little hybrid aren't you" He laughs, placing Levi on the floor as the marksman lets out a noise of pain I clench my jaw tightly before looking to the demon. 

"So what's your real name?" I ask as I scratch my jaw I stretch afterwards "The names Arzan. And you?" He asks, tilting my head ever slightly "Sage." I return, the governors watching in complete shock just like Gina and Kian "Sage the demonic dragon. You interest me, I do hope we meet again. I'll stop just because you asked so nicely" He laughs as the black liquid evaporates I look around the room, everyone on the ground curling over in pain, Leaning down I pick Levi up again "Are you okay...?" I ask the still conscious marksman who is wincing heavily "Not really... You was talking with the demon...?" He asks, his voice strained "Yeah..." I whisper, looking to the side when the door opens and the governors, Kian and Gina enter, Infernal, Or  Arzan rather rested on Kian's shoulder "Everyone here except you fails." Gina says as she points to me I frown heavily "You just put everyone through living hell." I growl, my embrace around Levi tightening as they approach me, the governors look slightly guilty, especially Natalia "Why did it look like you was talking with Infernal." She returns, Levi reaching for my face I inhale deeply and then exhale heavily "Because I was, and his name isn't Infernal, It's Arzan. It seems I can connect with demons despite only being a half-breed." I grumble, her eyes widening slightly "What did you say" She says sternly, scowling I tilt my head "I'm half and half...? Demon and dragon..? A bealayion?" I respond, Kian and her staring at me in shock whilst the four behind her whistle. 

"I'm sorry you didn't think to tell the council that we had just excepted a One in a million onto the frontlines!" Gina shouts as she paces around in the office, I hold Levi close to my chest "Nope. not just one, but two. This is Bonita." I say as I gesture to Bonita who's leant over gripping her chest "Are you really this hurt Bon? It was just a pure blood." I ask the goddess dragon who scoffs and lays on her side "TWO ONE IN A MILLION'S, YOU GOVERNOR BASTARDS BETTER START EXPLAINING!" Gina shouts now, the governors wincing as they lean back "Well you see...- Nope... I got nothing, we accepted them because of their strength and skill and thought they'd come in handy with things such as Juanita Roller.. Damion Goddard..." Natalia explains, Gina and Kian staring at them through half-lidded eyes "This isn't the end of this conversation. You two, with me now." Gina says as she points to me and Bonita I hold Levi to my chest tightly "I ain't going anywhere without Levi" I growl, watching her sigh she waves her hand "Fine bring him. Just follow me." She grumbles before walking out, I help Bon to her feet before picking up Levi."How you manage to have a demon inside of you constantly is beyond me" Bonita whispers as we follow Gina.
