Chapter Thirty-Six

Sage's PoV

Standing beside Levi as his family hug him, his mother reaches for my hand and holds it tightly "Take care Sage. Of yourself and my son" She smiles, returning the smile I nod "I will." I reply, Harley pointing to me "I know your telling the truth." She laughs, chuckling nervously I nod "Come on. I'll come visit you all when I next have a vacation" Levi says as he grabs my hand we go to leave but stop as Andrew approaches us "Your leaving..? Already?" He asks Levi who nods and looks to me "We have to get back to the frontlines, to our friends." He says, nodding I tighten my grip in Levi's hand "To get back to death? To your friends!? With this abomination!?" He shouts as he points to me, my jaw clenches as my eyes widen, Levi closes his eyes as his family stand and watch in shock "Abomination? I don't see an Abomination anywhere." Levi says finally after opening his eyes "That demonic moster beside you!" He shouts, inhaling I look down "Oh, Sage? He's not an Abomination." Levi says sarcastically to Andrew, I go to speak but stop as Levi raises his hand, watching the marksman walk towards Andrew "Andy. I'm going back to the capital, back to the frontlines - with my boyfriend who I love so very much, My boyfriend, the demonic dragon of Bealaye. A general of the frontlines. I'm going back to my friends, my comrades" He says sternly, watching as Levi reaches for his secondry weapon, a long rapier I fold my arms over my chest "Shouldn't you stop him?" Beth asks as she leans forward next to me I shrug "Levi has morals. He wont hurt him. He'll just teach him a lesson." I smile, the movement of him drawing his sword so fast he creates a gust of wind which blew our way. A small cut appearing on Andrew's cheek as Levi holds the rapier beside the blonde's head, his eyes wide as he stares at Levi "Don't ever call my boyfriend an abomination. And dont ever try to control my life." He growls before turning and walking back towards me "Ready to go babe?" I smirk, watching him nod he smiles and continues bidding farewell to his family.

Looking down at my screen I scowl slightly, the movement of the train irritating me "You look happy" Levi laughs as he lifts his head from my shoulder "I can't read this file properly, the train is too noisy and shaky" I grumble, hearing him laugh again he takes my screen out of my hand "We aren't actually back in the capital yet, stop getting worked up about work." He says, sighing I wrap my arm around his shoulder "Your so optimistic now." I hum, feeling him hit me I chuckle "We have an hour left until we return to the chaos. Let's get some rest" He says, nodding as he lies his head on my shoulder I lay mine on his head.

Author's PoV

Everything about Sage's Life was fantastic. Things were going right, His love for Levi was deepening, no one was trying to kill him at the minute, except for Juanita however she was currently on the down-low. As they walked towards the frontlines headquarters, hand in hand, back in their gear, Sage wearing his general badge on his jacket, Levi wearing his assault squad badge on his skin tight black t-shirt, a few soldiers watched them as they approached the building but they didn't care. By the time they reached the Governors office, the assault squad and Bon and Karma were already inside so they weren't worried about contacting the team.

Being with everyone again made Sage happy, People who actually trusted him, who wanted to work with him despite his past, his troubled history. As he stood there with Levi, the assault squad sat on the couches with Bonita and Karma, The governors sat their desks with Gina "Juanita dropped a message at the assault house a few days ago whilst you was both visiting Levi's family." Justin says, Sage scowling as he glances to Levi "The message read: 'I know about your life Sweetheart. I know of Levi Colhart.' and that's all that was left." Dior says, Sage's eyes snapping open as he stares at the ground "What is your relation with Juanita?" Gina asks as she walks towards Sage "We were in the Rhikan War together." Sage grumbles "She wants me to marry her." He continues, her eyes trained on the swordsman "Levi has to be protected at all cost. She'll kill anyone in her way. I don't care if its me, I will not continue if he's not put in protective custody!" Sage shouts as he points to Levi who's glaring daggers at Sage "If you think your going to fucking fight whilst I sit in a protected room You can think again!" Levi shouts as he grips Sage's shirt "I won't accept it!" Sage shouts now, flames radiating off of him expressing his anger "She's after you now! Because of me! I will not accept you being out in the frontlines whilst this is going on because god fucking dammit she wont stop until she gets what she wants! I am not letting you die!" He continues, his flames shifting into a dark grey, scales appearing underneath his eyes, claws emerging from his fingertips whilst wings appear on his back, his pupils become slit like dragons and fangs appear "He goes in protective custody." He says sternly now as he points to Levi who's staring with wide eyes like the rest of them except Gina who nods "Fine." She says.

Levi was escorted to a protected room in the south side of the headquarters, the restricted area of the compound, Gina and four guards walked him down a flight of stairs and into an underground room with a bed, a couch and a Tv "Your gonna lock me up down here whilst my boyfriend is out there risking his life!" He shouts at Gina who's scowls "That man loves you Levi. His enemy won't hurt him because she wants him, but you? Now that she knows you and him are connected, she'd kill you without a second thought. I won't allow you to get out and ruin Sage, because if you die Levi. Sage will most probably kill himself." Gina says sternly as she grips Levi's collar, the marksman staring at her with wide eyes "Your in protective custody from here on until we've secured or killed Juanita Roller." She says as she turns and exits the room without another word.

Sage's PoV

Pacing back and fourth, subconsciously scratching my jaw out of pure anxiety and frustration with the current situation. Everything was perfect, everything was fine, I had a castle built with the love of my life, I don't quite know how it vanished within seconds, a castle made of glass shattered with a single letter. Slamming my fist into the wall, Hugo stands "Sage, Juanita obviously has constant tabs on you." He says, closing my eyes I inhale and exhale heavily "A single sight of her, I don't care what information she holds. She dares threaten Levi. I'll..." I trail off, the squad leaning in slightly "What was that...?" Amanda asks, dark grey flames erupting around my body "I'll kill her!" I shout now causing them to jolt backwards.
