The room was silent, not a single word was breathed by either the governors or the assault squad, as Sage was being treated in the hospital room opposite them, Levi sat there, his hands covering his face, his knee shaking involuntarily as panic and dread rushed through his body, the others stared at the ground and walls, scared of what's going to happen to the legendary swordsman.

In the short time they all had known him, it was only natural they got attached to him. Despite his strange species and such, He's a good guy in general. It's a mystery how he got himself into this though, hearing Levi's name shocked Sage, he couldn't think straight and that's why he's currently laying in a hospital bed having critical surgery on his arm.

After a few hours, the surgeon and his team exited the room covered in blood, their eyes tired, the black rings under their eyes showing just how shattered they actually are "What..." Hugo breaths as he stands, approaching the surgeons he grabs the main surgeons wrists "We... had to remove his injured arm..." Hearing those words sent chills through all of the killers and governors bodies "It's been replaced with a temporary metal prosthetic for now, but when the time comes and he's well enough to decide for himself, he'll be offered a Military metal prosthetic due to him being in the frontlines." The doctor explains, relief washing over the group, they relax and lean down "is he awake...?" Governor Natalia asks as she walks towards the doctor and Hugo "No... he just underwent insanely painful and difficult surgery. He'll be out for a while." The doctor replies before bowing to them all and turning to leave.

Sage's PoV

Opening my eyes ever so slightly I look around, my jaw clenched tightly as I scan the hospital room, I go to sit up but stop as a clanking noise echoes through the room, wincing at the pain as I pull the cover off of me I stare at the metal prosthetic, my eyes wide and my face pale. Moving so I'm sat on the edge of the bed I run the pads of my fingertips along the cold metal, inhaling and exhaling I swallow a lump in my throat, my attention taken when the door opens and the nurse enters holding a tray of food "Your awake. That's good..." she smiles, her voice gentle and soothing, she places the tray on the bedside table before moving over to me "it was cut off..." I whisper, watching her nod I look back down to the prosthetic "They had to Sage... it didn't look good." She responds, tightening my left hand I sigh as I try to tighten my right hand too I close my eyes as I lean forward "You should eat..." She whispers before walking towards the exit I grab the tray of food with my left hand, holding back tears when the nurse leaves I shake involuntarily.

Laying on my side I stare at the wall, my left hand, my flesh hand gripping the bedsheets angrily, hearing the door open I close my eyes, pretending to be asleep "He's asleep..." Hugo whispers, Swallowing a lump in my throat I hear someone sit beside me, their hand grabbing my metal one "Levi, you should let him sleep." Hugo says, forcing myself from not looking to see Levi, his hand tightening in my metal one "I'm not leaving him." Levi mumbles, I hear Hugo sigh "Alright well... we'll all be back at the house. We'll be here tomorrow." Hugo says before exiting.

After pretending to be asleep for around fifteen minutes, Sage finally decided to 'wake up' his metal hand still entwined with Levi's, the marksman laying his head on the bed beside their hands, As Sage shifted up so his back is leant against the wall, Levi looks up with wide eyes, his hand letting go of the swordsman who stares at his lap "Sage.. are you okay?" Levi asks unusually softly, a worried expression on his face "I... have a metal arm..." Sage whispers, his hands gripping the cover "But... you can get a militaristic metal prosthetic!" He says, looking over to him with furrowed brows sage tilts his head "What?" He asks the marksman who points to the prosthetic Sage currently has "The doctor gave you this one as a temporary model. When your fit enough, He's able to fit you with a strong steel model prosthetic." Levi explains, Sage's eyes widening slightly "A militaristic steel prosthetic...." Sage whispers, his jaw clenching whilst he stares down at his temporary prosthetic.

Whilst Levi sat there, his right leg crossed over his left one, scanning over a book in his hand. Glancing up at Sage who's stretching his prosthetic, Levi jolts slightly as the doctor and Nurse enters the room slowly "Good afternoon, Sage, Mr. Colhart." Doctor Stayne says cheerfully as he enters, Sage drops his arms and turns to face the doctor and Nurse, Levi standing to greet the two more formally now "Doctor Stayne. Will I be getting my new metal arm anytime soon?" Sage asks impatiently, the obvious want to be back out in the field visible on his face sends a chill of concern through Levi "Actually yes. The mechanic of your new prosthetic has just finished and is currently en route to the hospital from Oshadow valley." The doctor responds as he checks Sage's wounds, the nurse stands beside them both smiling all pretty, irritation washing over Levi's face.

As Levi sat there listening to the doctor explain the new prosthetic Sage's receiving, The nurse desperately trying to get her hands on the swordsman's body 'checking' his wounds and vitals, Levi was starting to lose his mind. His left leg crossed over his right, his right hand rested in his lap whilst his left is rested on the arm rest "Well all in all, your recovery is unusually quick. What species did you say you was again?" The doctor asks, Levi choking on his own saliva as he sits upright, the three looking to the marksman in confusion, especially Sage who shakes his head and looks back to Doctor Stayne "Bealayion." Sage responds straightforwardly, the doctors eyes widening slightly as the nurses jaw drops "The dragon clan?" The nurse asks, a sigh escaping Sage's and Levi's mouth, the doctor raises his hand "don't press into it Layla." He says before turning, he bows to both Levi and Sage and then leaves, dragging Nurse Layla with him.

Sage pulled his shirt on reluctantly, he hated being too warm, due to being a flame wielder he got exceptionally too hot a large majority of the time. As he stretched out, he felt someone tap the small of his back and immediately he turned to face the smaller marksman who doesn't look impressed at all "Stop pushing yourself to recover." Levi says sternly, his arms folded over his chest now, sage's brows furrowed immediately "I'm not pushing myself." The swordsman responds, confused as to what Levi was so serious about "Don't lie to me Sage, I know you want to get out into the field again but if you push yourself you'll only get yourself hurt again." Levi growls, Sage's confusion being answered to immediately after. Before Sage could get another word in, the hospital room door almost came off of its hinges as Hugo, Amanda and Balthazar treaded in, bright smiles plastered on their faces "Greetings fellow assassins! It is I, your handler!" Hugo cheers happily, his arms wrapping around Sage's shoulders "I am so grateful you are alive!" He basically cries into the swordsman's healthy shoulder, Levi having to restrain a laugh at the irritated look on Sage's face.
