Chapter Thirty

Authors PoV

The cut through the air of Levi's bullet striking one of the targets directly into the temple sent him dropping to the ground within seconds, the civilians around them shocked and immediately jumping away "Good shot Levi, Balthazar, Amanda take the other two out and then let's get the hell back to Jistilen." Hugo says into the coms, the handler standing on the tower next to Levi's watching carefully "Roger that." They both day in unison before making their way through the crowds, Amanda's golden blonde hair standing out like a sore thumb whilst Balthazar blends in with his black hair.

The mission was over in an instant.

Both of the targets torso's were severed from their waists, The squad made their way back to Jistilen quickly - Levi missed Sage an immense amount which confused the hell out of him, usually he doesn't feel any form of missing anyone or anything, plus he didn't like being in the middle of space when he knows Juanita has her people after him and Sage.

Sage's PoV

Sitting in the office with the governors, my right ankle resting on my left kneecap, my arms folded over my chest as I yawn "You are glowing today Kageyama." Justin laughs, nodding I stretch "A good night of protecting Levi." I return, watching him nod he throws a thumbs up after winking at me "speaking of Levi, The man that attacked Levi and took on the look of you is indeed one of Juanita's men."  Heathcliff says catching the attention of us all, Dior nods and stands "Terry Challenger, an assassin with the impeccable ability to take on the form of anyone he wants to." She says, sighing I look down "That's dangerous. It's sad he's an enemy, he'd make a good soldier." Natalia murmurs, clenching my jaw I scowl "he tried killing Levi. I won't accept him." I grumble, the Governors shaking their heads "Nat's right Sage. Having him in our ranks would be helpful." Justin says seriously, clenching my fists I look down.

Exiting the headquarters, I look at Levi who's walking towards the entrance, his sniper slung over his shoulder, he stops and looks up at me as I stop and stare at him, unaware of Bonita, Karma and Leah who too are walking towards us I grab Levi's jacket pulling him into my chest I hug him tightly "Well done on your mission nerd" I laugh, watching him scoff he flicks my ear "Don't underestimate me, Duffus." He retaliates, turning to face the three who are approaching us "Don't you both look cute." Bonita smirks, scoffing I wrap my arm around Levi's shoulders subconsciously "What are you three doing back on Jistilen?"  I ask, Levi nodding as we stand opposite them "Well me and Karma are here because your here and we ran into Leah in ship we was in." Karma says, scowling I tilt my head "Because I'm here...?" I ask, Bonita pointing to her temple "Juanita's back and you didn't think to tell me?" She asks, wincing I look down "A declaration of war was put out. Sage you know you should've told her." Levi says as he looks up at me I roll my eyes before sighing and nodding "Don't you start Levi. I know I should've told you but you have to be a soldier to join the fight Bon, This isn't some fight where you can just jum-" I begin, being cut off as she shrugs "Fine, we'll join the frontlines." She says suddenly, scowling Levi leans forward "You do realize you have to go through an entrance exam, right?" He asks, the two nodding. 

Walking through the hallways of the frontlines headquarters, Bonita and Karma following whilst Leah walks beside me and Levi "So why are you here Leah?" Levi asks the mechanic who's practically skipping through the hallways "I actually came to do mechanical work on your arm Sage, but I've been accepted as an apprentice to someone called Elijah Dyer." Leah responds as she points to my arm I look down at it with furrowed brows "What's wrong with my arm...?" I ask uneasily, my eyes widening slightly as she holds two screws up in the air "I forgot to add two screws!" she says with a bright smile, my jaw practically on the ground as I stare at her "Leah!" I shout, watching her laugh as she continues on to the governors office Levi sighs and shakes his head whilst following her calmly. 

Opening the governors office, Heath, Dior, Justin and Natalia look up suddenly "Sage" Nat says as she stands, I pull Bonita and Karma in "Allow me to introduce you - This is Bonita Allard-Young and Karma Philips." I say sternly gesturing to the two beside me, Levi leans on the wall whilst Leah sits in the chair beside Levi "And who are they?" Justin asks, scratching my jaw I inhale as I point to Bonita "She is like me. A one in a million. Bonita Allard-Young the Divinity." I respond, their eyes widening slightly except for Dior who points to Karma "And him?" she asks, glancing to Karma who's surprisingly not wearing his armor "Karma Philips, Leader of the ninth Battalion on Varius." He introduces himself as he bows slightly, scowling slightly Levi pushes himself off of the wall using his shoulders, his arms still folded over his chest "They wish to join the Frontlines to help with the Juanita Roller situation." Levi says, glancing to my boyfriend who's now stood with his right hand rested on his hip "They will have go through the normal entrance exam." Heath murmurs, sighing I nod "Sage didn't." Levi retaliates, snapping my attention to the small silver haired marksman beside me "It's fine, we'll do your little entrance exam." Bon says, closing my eyes I tilt my head back. 

Standing at the edge of the barrier, leaning on it, my chin rested in the palm of my hand, Levi sits on the chairs with Leah whilst the four governors and two exam moderators stand down in the examination room with Bonita and Karma "Ladies first." Karma smirks as he gestures to Bonita who laughs and steps first "You may begin." One of the moderators say, scales forming underneath Bonita's eyes, Wings sprouting from her back whilst claws emerge from her fingertips she inhales "BONITA NO!" I shout at the top of my lungs as I lean over the barrier, the moderators and governors look up at me as she stands perfectly still "Do not interfere with the exam, General Kageyama." Heath says, growling I grip the railing unaware that my hands are burning up "You'd rather be disintegrated!?" I shout, Bonita glancing at me "Do not use your lungs inside Bon, You know this." I continue, Dior looking at us with furrowed brows "Inside? we'll just use the outside examination place." she says, inhaling I shrug. 

Watching as Bonita inhales, Karma steps back whilst the governors and moderators stand up in the watchtower, a bright white light emerges from her mouth, the brightness of it hurting me I look down "What the..." Leah whispers, Levi staring as he stands with Leah "Can you do that...?" Levi asks as I cover my eyes "I breath fire... I just haven't got control of it like she has" I reply, exhaling as the light fades I look over the barrier uneasily "Divine breath.." I grumble "She has dragon lungs just like me. She stays in the light to use it though." I explain. Watching as Karma swings his sword "His sword, the ability to pull the souls out of whoever he hits with it." I murmur, the glowing metal of his blue sword reflecting the sun "Both perfect candidates." I mumble, Levi and Leah sitting quietly and watching.
