Chapter One

Authors PoV

As the air stood still, not a single breeze blew through the Jistilen world, the atmosphere was silent and the only noise that could be heard was the creaking of the bugs hidden in the ground. It was unusual that the frontlines assault team would take a stealthy mission but this was a special request - an unknown species entered the atmosphere a few days ago and usually it wouldn't bother the assault team but the species has been stirring trouble in the town across of the capital and they don't want to spook whoever it is.

At this moment in time, Levi Colhart is positioned on top of a cliff edge, his finger straightened out across the trigger guard whilst he looked through the scope, his cheek rested on the dip between the scope and chamber "Levi are you in position?" Hearing Hugo speak into his ear He closes his eyes and inhales "When am I not." He respond bluntly, opening his eyes He looks through the scope as the targeted species wanders through the town streets He moves his finger so it's resting on the trigger now "Wait for my command Levi. We don't know if he's a criminal yet." Hugo says after realising the itchy trigger-finger Levi has gained after the last few seconds "Then figure it out. I wanna go home" Levi growls back, his brows furrow as Amanda's sharp and annoying laugh echoes through the intercoms "Always so dull Levi dear. Now onto a more interesting subject: have you heard about the solo swordsman that came to the Jistilen capital yesterday? Surely you've heard of him, Balthazar?" She asks the built swordsman who's positioned in Levi's eye-line "The Azure swordsman?" Balthazar asks, Levi's scowl increasing drastically as the target comes into Levi's sight perfectly, Hugo smiles to him from behind the stall before offering him something, as the two spoke, Levi's finger nestled on the trigger and the peaceful atmosphere was shattered when Hugo signalled the kill, Levi pressed the trigger and within a few seconds the bullet of the sniper ripped through the air and struck the target in the shoulder perfectly, pinning him to the ground which is when Amanda and Balthazar made their move cuffed the species.

As Levi slung the sniper over his shoulder, he stepped off of the train, receiving a few uneasy looks from passing civilians as they whispered about the status of the assault team, Balthazar and Amanda trailed behind Levi silently as Hugo soldiered on in the front, sticking his chest out proudly "Look its the Azure swordsman!" At those words, Levi's interest spiked and immediately he turned to look in the direction of that voice, Amanda noticing this she smiles and leans towards him "A famed swordsman peaked your interest, honey." She purrs.

The assault team barged through the crowd proudly, despite Levi's deadpan look he was interested in the swordsman and was eager to know who and what he looks like "Goodness me, looks like the assault team are here" a sly and smug voice purred as a crimson haired male flaunters his sword proudly "Don't wave that thing aimlessly. There are civilians around." Hugo growls as he walks towards the Male who winces slightly "But I'm the great Azure swordsman I can do what I wa-" He begins to brag before being cut off by a tall muscular Male with thick black hair "The Azure swordsman huh?" As Hugo, Balthazar and Amanda trailed away hauling all of their gear, Levi stood and stared at the two males with a skeptical look "That's right, the Azure swordsman, what's it to you?" The crimson haired Male retaliates to the tall Male "That title isn't something to flaunt around" he murmurs before turning and walking away.

Levi followed the black haired male silently, tailing him to his best ability until the male turned down an alleyway, Levi followed with his hand rested on the grip of his handgun, his eyes squinted ever so slightly as he prepared for the worst, It was a shock to Levi when he was thrown against a wall and a fiery blue flamed hand was raised pointed towards him "Why are you following me?" The dark haired male asked sternly, his azure eyes locked into Levi's dark grey ones "You looked ever so slightly skeptical when interacting with the so-called Azure swordsman." Levi responded bluntly, his eyes blank and expressionless "He was using a charm spell, he's not a swordsman at all. He's a mage." The black haired male hums as he drops the smaller sharp-shooter "You can tell?" Levi asks as the other male nods in response "Yeah, I can tell easily." He replies before turning and taking off down the alley "Hey Wait!" Levi yells as he runs towards the Male "If your offering to buy me dinner, I accept." The Male shouts.

As Levi and the thick black haired male sat with each other in the Dyce's restaurant a few civilians casted their eyesight over to them "Your name?" Levi asks bluntly, his expression blank as it always is "Sage Kageyama, And you?" The male responds immediately after scoffing a large majority of the food Levi offered him "Levi Colhart, of the frontline assault team. I'm surprised you don't know me." Levi responds as he gripped the strap connected to his sniper, Sage cocked an eyebrow and made a noise of confusion "It's my second day on this world, pardon me for not being interested in the assault teams mightiness." Sage replies sternly as he crosses  his arms over his chest "Second day on this world... what.." Levi replies, shock drowning his voice an incredible amount in contrast to his usually deadpan expression.

After paying the tab, Levi and Sage sauntered out of the restaurant, sage groaning at the amount of food he's ate in the last hour "What did you mean when you said it's your second day on this world?" Levi asks the tall male who's leant over holding his stomach tightly, a few people passing by whilst a group stood behind them unbeknownst to the two males "I-" Sage begins before being cut off by the group behind them "Lookie, lookie here Alyonie. Levi Colhart of the Frontlines assault team." One of the delinquents chirps as he gestures to Sage and Levi, Sage watching the criminals silently "Alyonie Stilt, the gang leader?" Levi asks sternly, the Male with a shaven head nodding and smirking "That's right." He hums before pointing to Sage who squints "And you... Sage Kageyama. The furious and Wrath-driven Azure swordsman Of Bealaye. The demonic dragon..." Alyonie breaths, Levi Looking to Sage with wide eyes, It was as if time slowed as Sage reached for his sword that's rested on the holster that's wrapped around his back "How do you know so much about me." Sage whispers.

Sage's PoV

As time slowed, my hand wrapped around the azure handle of my sword, pulling my arm with all my weight, I point the sword at the group of bandits, fiery blue flames erupting around my body and spiralling up along my limbs "Such beauty... such magnificence..." Alyonie whispers before grabbing his bandits arms and pulling them away I grip the handle tighter before sheathing it "don't follow them." I say to Levi who stares at me, my flames die down.

Authors PoV

As Levi stared at Sage, the famous blue flamed swordsman from Bealaye, tall and mighty in the setting sunlight that's creeping down the alleyway, the sounds of passing civilians who are most probably returning to their homes due to the time "Sage Kageyama... I thought I recognised that name..." Levi breaths immediately attracting the attention of Sage who's just let go of his sword "Don't make a big deal out of it. I just came here to apply for the position in the frontlines." Sage replies as he turns on the ball of his foot he sets off with Levi following closely "I'm a member of the frontlines assault squad. I can recommend you?" Levi presses, completely swerving the stereotype of a usually expressionless boy with no cares towards others "If you would." Sage responds immediately as he turns to face the smaller boy at a rapid speed he grabs Levi's shoulders tightly and with serious eyes that basically stare into his soul "I'll... I'll recommend you." Levi says after gathering his composure.
