Chapter Thirty-Five

Sage's PoV

Following Levi outside into the backyard where everyone is, grilling up food on a barbecue "Mom, is it okay if we stay the night?" Levi asks as he approaches Bethany, I look around "Your tall... and you look rough" looking down at a small ginger haired girl, I look around for Levi who's vanished "Uh.. I don't know what to say." I murmur, watching her offer her hand out she smiles "Hi, I'm Harley, the second youngest." She chuckles, shaking her hand I go to introduce myself but stop as she lifts my right arm, examining the metal closely "A metal prosthetic, you must get into all sorts of trouble!" She laughs, wincing I clench my jaw "It's difficult being a legendary general..." I respond, hearing her hum she shrugs "So whad'dya want with Levi?" She asks suddenly, jerking back slightly I scowl now "I don't want anything except to be with him." I retaliate, watching as she scratches her jaw she then folds her arms over her chest "I don't believe you." She says, growling slightly I glance to Levi who's now back with him mother "You haven't an idea, Harley. That boy I must protect with my life. He's the only thing that makes my miserable life worth living." I grumble, watching her smile she stands upright now "finally an honest answer." She chuckles before turning and walking away as Levi turns to approach me I sigh "Sorry I just had to go help my mom, did something happen?" He asks, shaking my head I wrap my arm around his shoulders "just an encounter with Harley..." I breath, hearing him laugh he nestles into my chest, his arms wrapping around my waist.

Sitting next to Levi at the bench, the food in front of me smelling incredible, the sounds of them all chatting to each other soothing "So, Sage. Tell us about yourself." Looking up at Levi's father, Lucas who's sat next to Bethany and Benjamin, Levi looks up at me with a strained smile "Uh.. Well You already know I'm a Bealayion, and the demon dragon and that I'm a general in the frontlines military. We, and by we I also mean Levi, are currently on the tail of Juanita Roller so that's interesting." I begin, Bethany raising her hands "We don't mean military related. Tell us about you as a person, what your life was like back in the day, what made you want to be in the military, what attracted you to Levi." She says, swallowing a lump in my throat I look down "I was exiled from my home planet for being a one in a million. Currently there are only Two one in a million's, Myself and my partner Bonita Allard-Young, the divine dragon. I was taken in by the Kageyama family and what made me want to join the Frontlines... Well, There's someone I need to take down. And what attracted me to Levi... I don't think I can answer that." I return, Levi's brows furrowing as his family stare at me "It's not something that deserves one answer. It's not something you can even put an answer on. It's like asking how life is created - you can't answer it can you?" I continue, watching them stare at me, Levi smiles "That's enough deep talk. Stop overwhelming my boyfriend." He says as he leans forward I glance over to him "Hey Mrs. Murray, I have that letter from Owen Milton!" Looking over to a tall scrawny blonde male who's holding a small bag full of letters and things "Oh Andrew" Bethany says, Levi looking over to the male he stands "Andy!" Levi chirps, attracting the blondes attention as he drops everything and runs to Levi, embracing him in a tight hug, scowling I clench my jaw, shrugging it off I lean back. 

Watching the two talk, I look down at my screen 'Gina King - Juanita has shown up again. Meeting when you get back - don't be late' Scowling I inhale and exhale uneasily "Great..." I breath, Looking back up to Levi who's walking over to the bench with the so called Andrew "Andrew, this is my boyfriend, Sage Kageyama." He says as he gestures to me, the blonde's pupils dilate as he practically death glares me "Nice to.. meet you." He says as he shakily holds his hand out I shake it reluctantly, watching hi carefully, Levi leans against me "You too." I return, holding my screen up to Levi he scowls now "A meeting when we get back?" He asks, nodding I close the screen before tucking it into my pocket "It's no big deal it's just Juanita has shown herself again, we need to devise a plan of attack." I say as we turn and walk towards the house, Levi raises his hand to his family "We'll be back in a second!" He shouts as we disappear into the house, feeling that Andrew's glare on me as we vanish out of sight. 

Pacing back and fourth in Levi's room, glancing over to the marksman who's sat on the bed "You don't think she knows where we are do you?" He asks, shaking my head I scratch my jaw "No, unless she's got someone following us, which I would've picked up. I have incredible detection skills." I explain, hearing him sigh he shakes his head and stands "It's not use thinking about it now. Gina said the meeting is when we get back, For now let's just enjoy the company of my family and this small vacation we have." He returns, smiling I nod, wrapping my arms around his waist I lean close to him, kissing him gently he wraps his arms around my neck. 

Gripping Levi's hand subconsciously as we exit the back door, My eyes falling on Andrew who's stood talking to Levi's family, I clench my jaw tightly as we approach them "What was that about? Everything alright?" Finn asks as he walks towards us I nod as does Levi "Frontlines Business but it's fine. It'll be sorted when we return." Levi explains, smiling when he leans against me I rest my jaw on his head "Your in the frontlines?" Andrew asks me, nodding I go to speak but stop as Levi's sister, Aimee jumps in "He's a general, The Azure Swordsman, well... The multicolored swordsman now" She explains, the blondes eyes widening as he stares at me "The demon dragon." He mumbles, smiling I nod, Levi gripping my hand as he prods my cheek "Your so egotistical" He scoffs, my jaw dropping as I bite his finger as he goes to prod my cheek again "Egotistical!? I'm not the one boasting about dating the demon dragon" I retaliate with a smug smirk, his family laughing as Andrew stands there glaring at us "Boasting! I never boast" He scoffs back at me, laughing I mess his silver hair up, causing him to groan.  

Pulling my shirt off I stretch "Man, It feel's good to get away from the frontlines" I groan, the bones in my back clicking as I wipe down my right arm, the metal shining brightly as it always does, Levi stretches in his bed "Too right" He chuckles, walking over to him I climb into his bed next to him "Your family is really cool. That Andrew guy didn't seem to fond of me though" I say as he moves so he's lied on top of me, His chin rested on top of his hands which are rested on top of my chest "I haven't seem Andy for ages, we grew up together so we've always been pretty close." He responds as he lays his head on my chest I place my hands on the small of his back "Can I ask you a serious question?" He asks, tilting my head I nod "I've known you for almost a year now. And I've known Bon pretty long as well. But I've never heard either of you talk about the tattoo things you have on your shoulder." He says, humming I look at the black evil smile on my shoulder "They aren't tattoo's. They are brand marks, One in a million ones from the king of our planet. An evil smile to represent how despicable we are." I respond, watching his brows furrow he sits up on me, straddling me as his hands go to my cheeks "You aren't despicable. sure you can be an absolute asshole but you aren't despicable." He says, smiling I sit up so my arms are wrapped around his waist "You were so emotionless when I first met you." I chuckle, watching him scoff he punches me in the chest "And then a stupid demonic dragon came an ruined that." He retaliates, laughing I move my right hand so its rested on his jaw "My greatest accomplishment" I breath, his cheeks tinting red ever so slightly.
