The recommendation took a little longer than expected to pass through the higher ups of the assault squad however when it hit them it hit them hard, after realising the identity of the Azure swordsman, the Governors became desperate to get a interview with Sage. Of course after interviewing Levi first, being the sniper of the assault squad and having met Sage, He possessed a lot of information on the unknown swordsman that's applied for a position in the same assault squad as Levi.
The sharp-shooter walked down the hallway of the Government building, his sniper slung over his shoulder like it usually is, a deadpan look plastered on his face as he ignores the stares of inferior soldiers "Colhart, good to see you again." As Levi's eyes fall on the four governors of the capital, Heathcliff Frye, Justin Bull, Dior Grape and finally Natalia Falit, Who are all sat behind their desks with papers stacked up higher than themselves "It has come to our attention that Sage Kageyama has applied for the position in your assault squad under your own personal recommendation." Heathcliff begins as Levi takes a seat opposite the four governors, his expressionless response quite clearly sending chills down their spines "This is true. I met Mr. Kageyama after returning from the mission over in Vindar, it was when I followed him I had come to realise his identity as the Azure swordsman when we encountered Alyonie Stilt and Sage Kageyama began to protect me." Levi responds honestly, no feelings present in his voice whatsoever as he spoke to the governors who nod and scratch their jaws in thought "Do you think he'll be an asset to your squad?" Natalia asks, staring at her Levi nods in response, receiving his own nod from her as she stands "The meeting is adjourned. I have come to a conclusion, Sage Kageyama will be joining the frontlines assault squad as another swordsman, under the careful watch of Levi Colhart." She says before turning and exiting the room without another word, Levi sat there with slightly wider eyes than usual before being handed the accepting form for Sage Kageyama.
It wasn't until Levi returned to the Assault squad's accommodation that he had realised what Natalia meant when she said Levi will be watching Sage, the man isn't born of this world, his identity is unknown, he could be a psychopathic killer for all they knew, it's quite obvious that the swordsman is somewhere present in the premises of the frontlines headquarters but what Levi wanted to know was where. It's a mystery that the swordsman had to show up on the same day Amanda was so riled up about him, The other assault squad members are quite clearly still in the dark about the situation on Levi's assumption as the sniper -wielder hasn't been swarmed by his squad just yet.
Somewhere deep in the Governors headquarters, Sage was silently making his way down the hallway towards Natalia Falits office with the gentle but tense help of four beat-soldiers, one wearing his uniform scruffily in contrast to his teammates who look like they would give up everything to become like the assault squad. Sage's hands nestled in his trouser pockets as he approached the office still without breathing a single word to the other soldiers who bow to him as soon as he reached the large hardwood door, with a effortless movement Sage knocked the back of his knuckles against the door in order to signify his arrival and before he could even clarify that the door opened revealing a tall white haired woman who's stood over by the window gazing out of it longingly "You must excuse my intrusion." Sage exclaimed as he entered, his hands left beside him to prove no weaponry was brought into the Governors office, she turns with a warm smile spread across her face and offers her hand out to him in which he shakes "Do not apologise Azure Swordsman, it is an honour to have you here." She responds softly before taking a seat behind her desk, Sage, not knowing how things like this usually pan out sits down on the chair opposite her desk "I, myself, accepted your application to join the Frontlines assault team, after having talked with Sharp-shooter Levi Colhart who speaks highly of you, I've put you under his watch. But there's something I must ask you before you leave for the assault squads accommodation." She explains as she leans on her desk, Sage knew what the question was before still gestured for her to continue "Why have you left Bealaye." She asks sternly, a minute of silence passed by between the two before Sage cleated his throat and sat upright now "I was exiled from Bealaye for my species." He says outright, no sugarcoating it or making it sound like a mistake "Aren't Bealayions all dragons?" She asks earning a lighthearted chuckle from Sage who nods and leans back "yes, but not everyone is the same dragon. It's common to have fire dragons, water dragons, you get it, the elements. Then you move up to the rare species, light dragons, dark dragons, poison dragons, metal dragons, ice and so on. Then you get the one in a millions, of course Bealaye doesn't allow these dragons to stay on their world for obvious reasons. There's only ever been two one in the millions, myself, and a woman named Bonita Allard. Bonita, from what I heard from my previous family, was born as a Divine Dragon. Myself, I am the Demon Dragon." Sage explains in full detail as she listens closely, her hand on her jaw signifying her interest in the situation "A demon dragon. And you won't go rogue? Kill a bunch of Jistilens?" She asks sternly, her eyes serious and somewhat cold "Let me ask you this, Falit. Would you rather have a super rare one in a million dragon in your ranks then have it as an enemy?" Sage responds as he stands, Natalia laughs and nods at his question as she too stands and walks around her desk towards the dragon boy "I suppose your right. But you will have Levi watching you. And that boy can shoot anything, it doesn't matter how far away or strong it is." She responds with the same cold and serious look she wore previously "I'm counting on it." Sage replies as he shakes the Governors hand she smiles.
It was a drag that Sage had to be escorted to the assault squads house, the soldiers looked at him like he was some sort of alien, and if we're being technical he sort of is, it's common for different species to move to different worlds, the inter-world alliance allows that, Jistilen is a world that allows any species on it as long as that species stays peaceful, ones that aren't is what the assault squad is here for. Of course there are worlds that aren't apart of the alliance, which is where the frontlines come in - a lot of worlds team up together to go and conquer violent and hostile worlds from violent and hostile species, or they conquer worlds that are under a strict dictatorship and free the civilians. As Sage followed the soldiers through the gardens of the frontlines headquarters, a few gazes casted his way from other soldiers and other squads, his eyes finally fell on the accommodation of the assault squad, a tall and clean looking house.
The soldiers opened the door for Sage which is another thing he didn't take too well, his brows were furrowed and his jaw was clenched as he walked into what he was assuming was the kitchen, four tough looking people sat there, a small blonde women gripping a tall muscular males hair in what sage assumed was anger "I'm sorry, who are you?" An average sized male asks Sage who looks to Levi who's now stood , attracting the attention of his teammates "Allow me to introduce, Sage Kageyama. Or as you may know him..." Levi begins as he sighs he gestures to Sage "The azure swordsman." He continues, the three looking at sage with shocked expressions and dropped jaws "That's right, the Azure swordsman." As Natalia Falit entered the kitchen, the four of the assault squad immediately jumped to their feet and stood to what sage assumed was attention "Governor Falit, a pleasure to see you." The average sized Male exclaims, it didn't really bother Sage that she was here despite the four acting as if she saved their lives, she turned to Sage with a smile and placed her hand on his shoulder "The Azure swordsman of Bealaye will be joining the assault squad. His application was flawless and with how highly Levi speaks of him, he will make a great asset to this squad." She explains, three of the squad looking at Levi with weird expressions.
As Sage settled into his room, his eyes wandering around the plain white walls, a corner desk tucked into the corner of the room, a locker pushed up against the wall opposite his bed, it wasn't his style but he dealt with it and sat on the chair opposite the desk, placing his azure blue sword on the desk Sage immediately took a cloth out and began cleaning the metal sword calmly.
Sage's PoV
As I cleaned the sword I received from Bealaye I kept a keen ear out, listening to the conversations of the assault squad who are still sat in the kitchen, discussing Levi's unusual interest in myself and how he has to watch over me. Jistilen was weird, nothing like Bealaye but it was a start, joining the assault squad was the first step of my plan and I wasn't going to let it fail, not again.
