Chapter 4

Eva~

I stare at myself in the mirror , my hair is in soft natural curls falling down my shoulders , my white linen shirt with black blazer and black pencil skirt .. the decent outfit for a big business meeting .

I glance around the room for my black heels and I found them next to the door , I quickly pick up my bag and the files that my dad gave me and said that it's important , then wear my shoes and head downstairs .

My dad was lying on the couch and of course wearing his pajama and glasses reading the news paper . I walk and stand in front of him without saying anything , I'm so nervous and I feel sick , I just can't just quit everything , he's is counting on me .

Dad glances up at me and smiles "look at you ! already looking like a CEO , I'm so excited and proud of you"  I smile at him , he really has big hopes . I will make it and prove to him I can do it ,for him , only him . 

"Thank you papa I hope I won't mess up today " I bend down to kiss his forehead and he kisses my cheek before I stand up .

"Honey you won't mess up , you just have to offer our conditions and then show them how we work everything out , don't worry big girl" he says and I laugh .

"Now you're calling me big girl ?" I ask shaking my head , he chuckles and says "just to lift your spirits now go and show them who's the boss" I nod and stand straight .

"Bye dad take care" , he smiles while waving for me .

I head out and find Ben is already waiting for me , I greet him and he smiles brightly at me . 

Ben drives through New York traffic while I go through the files over and over making sure I won't be forgetting anything , I'm having a meeting of partnership with Lucas Patterson .

Who knew that I'll be a business partner with the most person I despite , I just hope he won't intimidate me in this meeting so I won't mess up .

Ben pulls the car in front the large building of the Patterson's ,  He walks around the car and opens the door for me , I take a really deep breath and climb out , you can do this Eva.

The receptionist tells me that I should take the elevator to floor 30th where I can find a large conference room right in front of me . I nod and take the elevator .

When the doors finally open and I step out I can see the conference room full of employees and managers , some of them from our company and others are definitely from Patterson's . 

I straighten up and walk into the room , everybody stops talking and stares at me as I enter the room , some of them smiled , some of them stared like I was a piece of meat and others were just surprised , but what mostly caught my eyes is Lucas's reaction, 

His brows are pulled into a deep frown , his eyes cold giving nothing away , his hands are flat on the large desk in front of him while he stands at the head of the table , why is he looking at me like that ? .

When I stood still in my spot , Lucas walks around the desk and heads towards me , I gulp .. what is he going to do ? .

He smiles a tight uncomfortable smile "Miss Leonard what are you doing here?is everything okay ?".

I tried to speak , I think I swallowed my tongue .. I open my mouth few times and close it , damn it Eva you were fine with him few days ago why are you afraid of him now ? .

I clear my throat "I .. I'm here for the partnership meeting", he stares at me first then smiles as if i'm joking , he laughs a little and looks around before he says "and where's Mr.Leonard ? " .
