Did he just kiss me ? I catch my breath as I look at him scolding the employees ..I can't take in mind what just happened .
I walk away from him and the employees , I need to take a moment of silence after all of that .
"Evangeline wait" I hear a calm voice behind me ..oh no .. what the hell am I going to say to him ?? how am I even going to be able to look him in the eyes ? .
I turn around to face him not saying anything .
"You didn't say anything since ..you know ..I kissed you " he says muttering the last words .
"What am I supposed to say " I need to blame him so I would stop feeling shit about myself.
"you freaking took advantage of me being weak so you can kiss me ! " I say and I feel slightly relieved that now I can blame it all on him .
"What ? no ..I had no other choice ! you were passing out in front of my eyes and I had nothing else in mind to do " he says waving his hand in the air but his tune is not angry for my surprise ..he's just explaining himself .
"You didn't have any choice but to kiss me ?? what kind of choice is that ? you could have told me to relax and it would have been enough " I say and he raises his eyebrows .
"I told you to relax billion times and tried to comfort you but you were panicking so hard and if I didn't do that you were going to pass out ..and actually it worked"he says eying me ."I mean you're okay " he says in matter-of-fact tune .
We're at the end of the road ..I have no idea what to say ..I am okay thanks to him ..but kiss me ? ..oh god .
"That doesn't change anything between us " I murmur and he smirks .
" Is that what you're worried about ??" his tone makes me shiver "don't worry .. nothing has changed ..it's not like there was emotions in the kiss right ? " he cocks his head to the side questioningly .
"Of course not !" I say far too quickly and he tries to hold his smile ...why is he smiling now ?? weren't we fighting ?? ..he confuses me god damn it .
"See you at the airport " he says and he goes to the cafeteria .
And I go to my office again taking the stairs this time , I quickly enter the office and search for my phone and I call Dr.Singh ..it's funny that the last time he saw me I was a self-contained , successful marketing manager in one of the biggest companies .. and now i'm a lost loser that also happened to be a CEO that would ruin the whole company .
Did I just say that ? oh no ..I can't let Lucas gets into my brain ..I know who I am ...do I though ?? ..actually i'm not sure anymore .
"Eva ! " just the sound of his voice relaxes me .
"Sam ..I need to see you " I say desperate .
" Well hello to you too " he says and I smile .
"Sorry ! hello ...now can I see you this evening ? " I ask .
"Yeah for sure ..can't wait to see what the hell making you so desperate to see me ...is everything okay though ? ".
Yeah ..just my dad got sick and I became the CEO of the company and I have a partnership with a person that calls me names and because i'm stupid i'm believing them ,so I should be mad at him but instead we kissed today in the elevator ..did I mention that my dad is getting worse ?? oh and my step brother that I hate will be in my face forever ?? which means Flora will be able to come here anytime .
"Yeah everything is okay ..i'll tell you when I meet you " I decided to stick with this for now .
"Alright darling ..take care of yourself until the evening " he says .
