"Bye Papa" i say as i walk out of the door , on the breakfast we were very silent , i think my dad is still very upset with me about what i said last night and he has a right .. i seriously need to see Dr.singh i have so much to tell him .
I greet Ben with a small smile and get in the car , damn it today will be an awful day ...seeing Eric will bring out the worst of me but i need to control my emotions .
I keep going through his file until we park in the company lot . I go out the car and take a huge breath ..let's start this horrible day .
I walk in the building and straight to my office , I sit down and after a beat i hear knocking on my door . "come in " i murmur .
"Good morning miss Leonard " Lisa comes in with coffee in her hand , she puts in on my desk and hand me some papers .
"Good morning Lisa , thank you for the coffee ..what are those ? " i ask her .
"These are some contracts you have to sign before our trip to Korea " she says and i stare at her ..oh no ..the trip to Korea ..i completely forgot . i close my eyes and sigh .
"Are you okay Eva ? " Lisa asks me .
"Yes i am ..i'm just not in the mood to be with that bastard all day long ..have you booked for us ? " i ask her and she shakes her head .
"No , you didn't tell me which hotel to book in ..Mr.Patterson said he will tell me which hotel to book for us in after the interview with Mr.Nittson" she says and i nod .
"Okay , did you call the Korean company to make sure that they will send us a driver to the hotel or should we book a driver ? " I ask and she shakes her head again .
"Mr.Patterson told me to do nothing because he wanna discuss all the details after the interview " she says nervous that i'll get angry but i don't ...no emotions Eva ..no emotions .
"Fine ..please tell me when Mr.Nittson arrives " i say and put my hand flat in the air for her as a permission to leave .
Time passes and I keep staring at almost everytthing in this room .
I feel sick and my stomach is playing some kind of a war inside of me and I keep thrumming my fingers on the desk infront of me. Why do i feel like this? I've never experienced such feelings like these, I've always knew how to handle everything and always believed I can do everything that is asked from me, until today or until those files of Nittson came here .
And why would mother want to hire her son here while her husband is a rich man too? i mean it doesn't make any sense. I take a deep breath, don't overreact Evangeline.. don't overreact, I'm capable of everything and I've been in worse situations so this should be easy... yeah right who am i kidding? .
I slam my hand on my desk and start pacing the area behind my desk back and forth, suddenly there's a knock on my door and I walk there to open it, Lisa shows up smiling sympathetically at me and says "He's here" .
I've been thinking for straight an hour and half without noticing how the time passed so quickly, i look around and back at Lisa then nod, "give me a minute " i mutter and walk back to my desk , taking a big gulps of water from my glass then follow her out after taking a file for the meeting, keep your emotions shut and act efficient as you always do. I advice myself.
Before we reach the elevator Lucas shows up out of nowhere and stands beside Lisa and me "good afternoon ladies" he says staring straight ahead, Lisa beams at him and salute him but i keep my mouth shut, oh how much i hate you.
The elevator doors open and we step inside, throughout the drive to the 18th floor i noticed him looking at me by the corner of my eye, but i keep my blank mask and keep staring at the numbers of floors above the doors, trust me it's a long ride from the 30th floor the the 18th .
Finally after what seems like forever the doors open and the glass wall of the meeting room is right in front of me, also the ever charming junior Mr.Nittson is sitting there looking outside the window that shows the lake in the park behind the building.
I walk there and Lucas follows me while Lisa had to do other work in another floor. Erick turns around the moment we enter the room and smiles "Eva" he greets me all business look on show, I plaster a smile and shake his hand then he turns to greet Lucas " Mr.Patterson it is my pleasure to finally meet you"
Lucas smiles a huge arrogant smile and says "the pleasure is mine really" ,I'm tempted to roll my eyes but i busy myself organizing my files, few moments later the Marketing specialist joins us and i take another deep breath then we sit to start the most dreadful meeting I've ever been to.
"First of all and before everything ..you do know that this contract is temporary right ? " I ask and he looks at me .
" I do , Mr.Leonard has informed me " he says and i nod .
"Um Mr.Nittson ..you have graduated with honors from collage ..why did you accept a temporary job when you can easily have any long term ones " Lucas asks him and i'm glad he did ..it doesn't make sense to me either .
"Being in such a big company even if for short amount of time will help me gain experience that sure will help me a lot through my future career " he says and I smile god he sounds just like my mother ..and he has the ability to charm people just like her .
"That's so great " Lucas says ..he's so happy and pleased with him .
"Mr.Nittson you will not only be the marketing head in our company , Mr.Patterson finds that you're quiet capable to run the marketing section in the business that his company has with ours" I say and Eric's face lights up ..he can't even hide his excitement , I don't blame him .
"That's ..a-amazing ! it's an honor to me " he says looking over to lucas who smiles as well .
"Great ..actually me and Mr.Patterson have studied your file ..we find no problem in hiring you ..and we're betting that you'll rise this business up " I say and he nods "thank you ..i hope i won't let you down "
Lisa comes into the room with the contract in her hand so I take it from her and hand it to Erick.
"You can read the contract so we can discuss what you accept and what you don't " I say and he nods again opening the contract and reading it .
"I'm fine with everything in this contract " he says .
"Then if you don't mind ..sign it " I say handing him the pen and pointing at the place he should sign on , in the contract .
He signs then move the contract on the table back to me along with the pen , I take them from him and sign ..that's it ..he's going to be in my face forever ..until my dad comes back at least .
