Checking on Jess

One night Archie woken up from a deep sleep panicked he hadn't had this reaction since college. He told Veronica he needed to check on Jess he was very concerned. He got in his car and drove to Jug and Jess house's and knocked on the door Jughead answers and he said.

"Where's Jess? Is she ok."

Jughead said annoyed.

"It 1:00 in the morning and you are asking for Jess at this hour?"

Jughead hadn't realized that the ventilator Jess is on was signaling that it no longer working. Matt heard it and sees Jess struggle to breathe but she is so tired and it has been a long exhausting day.

"Daddy! Mommy is gasping."

Jughead and Archie ran to the bedroom and sees her tired, gasping and her face was pale she was nearly on death door. He checked the instructions and there was no extra battery pack as backup. So he called an ambulance, grabbed the kids and took her to the hospital as they had a ventilator she needed. Archie was thankful that he followed his instincts. Jughead tearfully thank Archie for being here.

"I am so glad you are here. I take back what I had said earlier."

Jess woke up still exhausted and sees where she is as she looked at Jug and Archie having no idea what just happened but she admitted.

"I don't want to know."

Jughead kissed her forehead.

"Get some sleep."

Jughead took the kids home and Archie stayed with her and held her hands gently as she sighed.

"Long exhausting day and I'm so tired and my mind is racing and..."

He scooped his sister up and let her rest her head on his shoulder and just like that, sleep took over. Archie gently looks over and she has not changed one bit except the bags under her eyes and as it reminded him of the first time he had rocked her to sleep when Fred got shot. Archie admit.

"Dad was definitely looking over you and thank you for the sign."

Then he gently laid down on the couch holding her gently and fell asleep.
