We had just finished our soccer game. The October breeze lightly touched my long brunette ponytail. I walked over to the bench with my bag and unzipped it, I find my water bottle, and take a sip of water. As I take another sip of water, I hear laughing from across the field. I close the top of the water bottle and hold it in my hand, and slowly turn around. I glance across the grassy area and see Kelsie, of course, flirting with Liam. My heart drops and I look down at my shoe. I notice a shoelace is slightly loose and crouch down to tie it, looking up at the two at the other side of the field. Kelsie makes some joke once again, causing Liam to smile and laugh. I sigh and look at my shoe, seeing it's tight enough. I stand up and reach for my water, taking another sip. This time, I make eye contact with her. She gives me a glare and looks back at Liam, telling him she will be right back. She begins to walk over to me, and she does not look happy. 'Shit', I think.

She reaches me and glances back at Liam, giving him the most fake smile I've ever seen, trying to hide whatever she was about to say. He grins and shouts over to her, "Kels, I'll be at the car." "Okay!" She shouts back, once again faking a smile. Liam jogs over to the parking lot and Kelsie looks back at me, showing her true emotions. "Now listen here, you little bitch. I've seen you sneaking glances at Liam a lot lately. Let me tell you something," she takes a step closer to me, her face in my personal space. "You can't have him. Sorry to break it to you, but he obviously likes me and will, let's see, NEVER, like you. Got it?" She steps back a little, making my heart beat calm just a bit. She repeats the last line, and I nod. "Good. Now for your own good, I would suggest you leave the games just as the crowds are. It would stop the temptations."

Just then, I look behind her and see Liam. We make eye contact and neither of us break it. Still looking at me, he shouts over to Kelsie, "Kelsie, what is this?" He must have overheard our conversation. I finally break the eye contact and grab my bag. I run and keep running until I'm completely away from them. I keep running until I'm at least two streets away from the school. It's then I remember my water bottle. "Fuck that," I say out loud. I start walking down the street and take out my phone and headphones. The music just begins to start when I hear my name.
