Karen's POV
"So who's this girl I keep hearing about?" Geoff asks me. I smile and say, "Her name is (Y/N). She's the girl he worked on that project with." "Ohhhh," my husband nods, causing me to laugh as his response. As I continue to fill him in on things, Liam walks in with (Y/N). Geoff does his usual teasing and I see embarrassment flash upon Liam's face. I feel bad for him, so I change the subject a little and ask if she was spending the night. After a while, it was settled, she was. When the two teens go upstairs, Geoff turns to me and laughs. "What?" I ask, grinning. "Oh nothing," he begins, "it's just how he reacted to everything." "Go easy on him, Geoff. This girl is different, and you will not regret meeting her.

After breakfast the next morning, I stand up and put my plate in the sink. "Liam, would you mind doing the dishes for me?" "No, not at all," he looks up from his plate and stands up, bringing his own things with him. "I can help too," (Y/N) chimes in. "That would be lovely, thank you," I smile and receive one back. I glance over at Geoff and notice him looking between the two teenagers. I roll my eyes and smile to myself. (Y/N) joins Liam at the sink and I excuse myself into the living room. I sit down on the couch and hear footsteps coming closer. I see my husband and grin. He joins me on the couch and turns the TV on.

"So, are those two official now or what?" Geoff asks me, still looking at the TV. "No," I shake my head even though he can't see the movement, "they aren't dating. I think they're taking everything slow and becoming friends first." "Friends my ass," Geoff laughs and rolls his eyes, glancing at me, "I bet they've had their moments already." I raise my eyebrows in confusion and eventually get what he means.

"Honey, I think Liam is trying his best to take things slow. He doesn't have a great past of girlfriends. (Y/N) gives me a feeling that she is perfect for him, and he's perfect for her." "I agree with you, I just don't think this 'not official' crap will last long."

Your POV
Liam finds the dish soap and turns the hot water on, beginning to fill up one side of the sink. I reach my arm across him and grab a plate, patiently waiting for the sink to be filled. Liam turns the water off and puts in some soap, mixing the two components together and setting the container on the counter. He grabs a plate of his own and finds the sponge. "Ready?" He asks me, grinning. "Sure," I laugh and grab my own sponge.

As we start cleaning the dishes, I feel Liam's eyes on me. I look at him from the corner of my eye and raise my eyebrows. "What?" I laugh. He laughs too and looks down at the plate he was currently washing. "Nothing," he responds. I shake my head and laugh again, setting the plate I finished cleaning in the dishwasher.

"Stop!" I squeal as Liam splashes me. We had just finished washing the dishes. I was cleaning up the counter with a towel when I feel water on my neck. "Liam!" I say when I feel more water dripping down onto me. I hear his deep laugh and look at him. "What are you going to do about it?" He smirks. I raise my eyebrows and glance at the sink, grabbing the little hose by the cold water faucet. Liam's eyes grow wide and he raises his arms to block his face.

"No, (Y/N)," he says, trying to defend himself. I just laugh and hold down the button, spraying him right in the face. "How do you enjoy the water, Mr. Quarterback?" I laugh as water droplets slowly fall from his brunette hair and onto his nose, eventually rolling farther down to his shirt. "Oh, I'll get you back," he says, taking the hose from me. My eyes grow in shock and I begin to run in the opposite direction, just to be pulled to his chest and sprayed. "Liam!" I squeal again. He laughs and drips the remainder water from his hair onto me. "Ugh!" I get out of his grip and hear footsteps coming our way. Shit.

Geoff's POV
Karen and I hear loud noises coming from the kitchen. We decide to check it out and walk into Liam and (Y/N) dripping wet. Liam holds the hose to the sink and looks at me in embarrassment. "Oh hey Dad....," he bites his bottom lip. (Y/N) looks at the floor, which I notice was covered with some water. "What happened in here?" I ask, half annoyed and half amused. "We just finished the dishes and...," Liam begins to say, setting the hose back in its place. He touches (Y/N)'s shoulder and she finally looks up from the floor. Her eyes land on Karen and I and she looks away again.

I was now only amused. What were these two doing? They clearly shared some connection. I notice this as I continue to watch how the two respond to the situation and to each other. "You two should get changed and then clean this mess up," Karen tells them, an amused grin escaping her mouth. I glance at her and she nods. We look back at the dripping wet teenagers and watch as they slowly head back upstairs. I let out a laugh after I decide it was safe to.

"What the hell happened?" "I don't know," Karen answers, laughing herself. "Just another thing to prove my theory," I tell her. She rolls her eyes and looks at the mess in our kitchen. "I can just see this connection with them. You didn't see it at dinner Thursday night, but there was something there," she adds. I nod, "Yeah, I notice something too." "I just want him to be happy." "I do too, Karen, I do too."
