"So, Princess. Wanna dance?"

You smile, "Sure."

Making contact with his hand, he intertwines your hands together. Quickly spinning you around, then slowly swaying side to the side.

The music in the back, being muffled from where the two of you stood. The moon casting upon the gardens, the stars twinkling, and the lights from inside being the only things illuminating the grass.

For someone you just met, Varian was a good dancer. "Where did you learn to dance?" You ask.

He chuckles, "My mom and me use to dance a lot. She loved music and would teach me how to waltz."

That is so cute. Was this guy trying to make your heart beat out of your chest? Smiling, "Use to? Does she not have time to dance with you anymore?"

You would understand, if that was the case. The king and queen would be busy with kingdom matters, rarely ever spent time with you. Which made you reach out to Rapunzel, confining in her.

Varian looks down, a sad smile was now placed on his face. "Not exactly."

"Oh," you felt bad. Of course, you did. But you were confused, as well, why would he tell you something, like this. It was a rather personal thing to tell someone, you just met. "I'm sorry, but why are you telling me this?"

He shrugs, "I trust you. Plus, your a princess. Would be rather rude, if I didn't tell you."

You roll your eyes, "It can't just be, because I'm a princess. You just met me, trusting me off the bat would be weird."

Varian sends you a grin. Dipping you suddenly, you feel his hands grip your waist tightly. "Okay, fine. Maybe it's because your really pretty and I want to know you better." He pulls you up, going back to swaying side to side. "Can't really do that, if I don't open up first."

"I guess so."

It goes silent for a few seconds, the noise and music from inside being the only thing heard.

"Let's start with a question then. What's your favorite color?" Varian spoke. A boyish smile on his face.

He was so childish sometimes, you loved it. "Really? What's my favorite color?" You raise an eyebrow.

"Yeah! Don't you want to get to know each other more?" Varian asks.

His eagerness makes you smile, "Yeah, I guess I do." You tell him your favorite color, giving him a question in return. "What do you do as a hobby?"

Varian replies quickly with, "Alchemy. I am self-taught." He says with a confident grin.

You laugh, "Oh yeah? Maybe you can teach me sometime?"

Eyes lighting up, "Or maybe, I can teach you now?"

You don't have time to question it, because he grabs your hands and leads you back into the castle. Jogging through the endless amount of hallways and corridors.

"Where are we going?" You question. Hand on your dress, so you won't trip.

Shoes and heels clicking on the floor. "You'll see!" Varian replies, the cheeky grin never leaving his face.

You finally stop in front of two big doors. "We're here." He opens the door, revealing all types of machinery and experiments.

"Sorry about the mess," you turn to look at him. Varian's scratching his neck, blush light on his cheeks.

"It's fine. This is all so amazing," You look around astonished.

Varian picks his gaze from the ground. Looking at you, "You really think so?"

You smile at him. "Of course. This is-" Getting cut off by something nudging your ankle.

Looking down, you see a raccoon. Lightly pushing his head against your foot. "Aww, who's this?"

Varian doesn't answer, just diving right in to grab the raccoon. Scolding the animal, "Ruddiger! Oh my god, no, don't do that! That's the princess, we don't do that to royalty, alright?"

Chuckling, "It's okay. Ruddiger was it? He's adorable." You move closer to Varian, petting the raccoon on it's head. "Aren't you the cutest thing?"

"Trust me, he isn't" Varian says. Sticking his tongue at Ruddiger, when the animal gnaws at Varian hand. "He's such a trouble maker."

Ruddiger was squirming in Varian's arms. Making his goggles fall from him head, landing on the bridge of his nose. The animal jumps out of his hands.

You laugh, lifting Varian's googles from his eyes. Smiling, when you lock eyes.

Varian looks away, blush showcasing his freckles. He clears his throat, "Anyways, want me to show you around?"

The whole night was spent with Varian showing you his machines. Laughing as he tells you stories about accidental explosions he caused or slip-ups that happened when he built his machines.

You were definitely going back to Corona. And it wouldn't anyone's business, if they see you head towards Varian's lab.
