Varian had something that defies the laws of science. He tried to explain it the best he could, without resulting in anything other than a scientific explanation.

They told him to give up on trying to find the reasoning. They. Varian had a little devil on his left shoulder and an angel on his right.

He tried telling Rudiger about it, but the raccoon just tilted his head sideways in confusion. Varian wouldn't tell his dad about it, because he didn't want his dad to think he was a nut job.

The angel introduced himself as 'The Principality Aziraphale' and the demon 'Crowley.'

They helped him with daily things, like whether or not he should tell his dad about an experiment.

Crowley had said, "Might be better if you keep that to yourself, kid."

Nodding, "Better be best if we clean up the mess quickly, dear boy." Aziraphale replied.

The angel and demon had agreed with one another, on many topics and aspects in Varian's life. The only topic, which they hadn't agreed upon would be you.

Varian had met you in the park, he was collecting ingredients for his experiment.

You came up to him, asking, "Why are you picking leaves up? You know there are nicely grown flowers over there." You pointed out at the flower garden. Which was not far from where you were standing.

"I don't need flowers," Varian said. He looked at your puzzled expression. "Oh! No, what I meant was that I need these leaves for an experiment."

"What experiment?" You ask

Varian was caught by surprise. No one usually asked about his experiments, he would always keep them to himself. Rudiger being the exception.

"It's about the multicellular membranes a leaf has. Maybe if I apply the cells of a leaf to an insect, it could either do some damage to the insect or adapt it." Varian happily said. He was excited to tell someone about his project.

After that day, you spotted Varian more and more at the park. You'd usually be there to feed the ducks or to walk around.

You flash Varian smile, "Hey Varian!" Seeing him blush, his cheeks turning a cute pink.

"Uh, hey (Y/N)!" He says, looking slightly nervous. Varian's eyes darted away from yours, sheepishly scratching the back of his neck.

The smile on your face, turned into a confused one. "You look like you want to tell me something. Do you have something to tell me, Varian?"

Varian seeming stressed out by your question, answered suddenly. "I-, uh, I like you!" He shouted out.

You turn to him in surprise. "Varian-"

Varian's face contorted into pure horror, he paused for a second. The angel on his shoulder went into full panic.

"Okay! No! That's too soon! You just met her a week ago. Crap! She's looking scared. You should have came prepared with a poem, a haiku or maybe hug? You know?"

As his shoulder angel panicked, Crowley whispered something in his ear.

Out of nervous, Varian did what the demon said. "I could have killed you and hid you under a rug!"

"What the heck!" Aziraphale says. Hitting the demon roughly on his arm.

Varian was looking more anxious. Eyes darting everywhere, except to you. The angel and demon were both busy yelling at each other.

They stopped fighting, turning towards you when they hear you chuckle. "Varian, I like you too."

Sighing in relief, Varian said, "Oh, thank god."

He ignored Crowley's comment on, "There's not need to thank god here, kid."

Continuing, Varian stated, "I'm sorry about that whole hiding you under a rug thing. That would be stupid." He paused. "I mean! I wouldn't do that to you! Not just to you! What I meant to say was, I wouldn't do that to anyone at all!" Varian sighs, giving up. "I was just really nervous."

Mentally rolling his eyes, when Crowley sarcastically commented, "Really? I couldn't tell, kid."

He was grateful for Aziraphale, who said, "Crowley, dear, now is not the time."

Varian turned his attention back to you. "Yeah, it was kinda easy to tell. But you can make it up to me. Take me on a date to the bakery?" You flash him your best puppy dog eyes.

Varian laughs, "Of course, M'lady." He dramatically bows, offering you his arm.

You take his arm, intertwining it with yours. "Thank you, my good man."

The both of you walk off to the bakery. Laughing and arms linked together.

"Aw, angel, would you look at that! Varian actually has some moves!" Crowley stated, turning to look at Aziraphale.

Aziraphale smiled, "I never doubted that he didn't." The angel stopped, thinking for a second. "Now, if I recall, I believe someone betted that, it would take them both 4 weeks to get together. It's only been a week, Crowley, dear."

The demon sighs, "Alright, dinner at The Ritz, again?"

Nodding, Crowley takes Aziraphale's hand. The two disappearing.

Meanwhile, Varian and you were at a table by the window. Talking about the current project that Varian was working on.
