Walking in Corona felt nostalgic. He's been gone for so long. It's nice to see nothing changed. Or, so he hopes.

Pulling the hood down, he blends in with the crowd. None of them aware of the escaped criminal walking among them.

Getting lost in the scenery. The loud chattering surrounding him, the people, the food. It made him feel like an innocent kid again.

"Oh my god!"

He looked down to see, someone picking up some spilled apples. Hurrying to put them back in the basket.

"I am so sorry. I didn't see you there." Varian helps them pick up the apples.

They chuckle. He swears he's heard that sound from somewhere. "It's perfectly fine. No one notices me anyways."

Helping them get the last of the apples. Varian holds onto their forearms, getting the person back up. "Aw, come on. I'm sure that's not true."

The person looks up at them. Smiling wide, "Anyways, thanks for helping me pick up the apples."

Shit, it's you. He hasn't seen you in a long time. Varian missed you so much.

Would you even be excited to see him? Would you tell the guards right away? Would you run from him?

"Hey, are you okay?" Varian hears you say.

"What? Uh, yeah. No, yeah, I'm fine." He rapidly shakes his hands around. "It was just the right thing to do. Chivalry is not dead, my good madam." Varian bows dramatically.

He hears you laugh. He's missed that laugh. It made him never want to leave. It made him forget. Why did he even leave in the first place?

"Well, I sure hope not. It was you, after all that made me drop my basket." You point a teasing finger at his chest. Jabbing it lightly at him.

It was nice to joke around with you more. He missed doing this. He missed playing around with you, laughing whenever.

Varian remembers all the times you had asked him to tell you about his inventions. How your eyes would light up, when he asked you to help him with an experiment. It was utter bliss.

"How about I make it up to you with lunch?" Varian asks. This could be a way for him to see what he's missed. Talk to you more, and see how you've changed.

He sees your smile, "Sure."

Laughter was heard throughout the shop. You and Varian sat at a table, near the window. Cup of hot chocolate in your hand, when you asked him, "So, why are you here in Corona?"

"Mhm?" He began to panic. Varian didn't want you to know it was him under the hood. "Just some family business is all."

"Oh? Are you going to visit some family?" You question.

Varian looks down. Shaking his head lightly, voice quiet. "Just my dad. It's been awhile since I've seen him."

He looks up to see your smile. Surprised to see you reach down and hold his hand. "I'm sure, he's going to be happy to see you."
