[19. Safe With Him]

Shoto's POV

I felt someone tapping my shoulder, I opened my eyes and almost froze whoever was waking me up.

"Fuyumi... what the hell?" She shushed me and pointed beside me, Nova was snuggled up against my chest. "You'll be late to school if you don't get up." She left my room and I sighed "What time is it?" Nova groggily asked "5:45 am." She groaned "It's too goddamn early." "I usually go on runs but I think I'll just spend that time with you." I kissed her forehead and laid on my side so I could cuddle into her.

"This is something I could get used to." I said, she was already back asleep.

A week later

Nova's POV

I heard my dad talking to someone in the living room as I was getting ready for school, I had completely miss-placed my tie. Looking around my room like a mad man because I didn't want to be late to school, "Where the hell is it!?" I was really frustrated, I had it yesterday but where did I put it after I got home?

"You do know it's hanging on your dresser, right?" I looked at the door frame and then he turned around very fast once he saw my shirt wasn't buttoned yet "Like you haven't seen my hero costume, literally the same thing." He was very hesitant but turned back around "I also did look at my dresser, but now it's magically there." I grabbed it and started to button my shirt that I forgot to button earlier.

"Why are you here?" I asked because I didn't know anyone was walking with me to school. "I thought I'd come by and walk with you." He sat on my bed which was a mess, the covers were in a ball along with the Iron Man blanket on top of the ball, my room was also messy, clothes everywhere, books and comics too.

"My room compared to yours says that I am in fact a tornado." He chuckled "You should hurry if you don't want to be late to school."

"You're going to see your mom today?" He nodded "I think it's time I see her." He squeezed my hand "You'll be okay, I'm sure she'll be happy to see you." I could tell he was scared but he calmed down "She'd love you." I smiled "I'd hope so, but you need this time with her. She's your mom, not mine." I frowned after I said that "You okay?" He asked "Nothing, just remember to tell her how you feel."

Everyone got their agency requests and everyone was choosing, but something weird happened. I got one request, I wasn't even in the Sports Festival! How?! "Aoki got a request!? She wasn't even in the Sports Festival!" You could hear the loud smack from Aimi slapping Minetta.

"Who is it?" Everyone looked at the board "ENDEAVOR?!" I looked at Shoto and he had the most shocked face "Congrats Ms Aoki." Aizawa said, I looked back at Shoto and he looked at the paper he got with tons of heroes but then he read one and stopped reading the rest "Guess we'll both be there." He whispered and had a small smile.

"Aizawa!" Everyone was headed to lunch but I had a question that couldn't wait, probably because I'd forget. "Ms Aoki, please use Mr Aizawa, I'm your teacher." I rolled my eyes "What is it?" He asked "How did you do it?" He acted as if he didn't do anything "Do what?" "You asked heroes if they'd include me, even though they have never seen me fight. Thirteen and Endeavor are the ones who know the way I fight." He sighed "I did, it's no special treatment but I can't have someone with so much potential falling behind." He walked off and I smiled "No special treatment my ass."

I walked past the classroom again and saw Shoto waiting, "Why didn't you go with everyone else?" He looked up from the ground "I wanted to eat with you alone." He said shyly "I know the perfect spot." I grabbed his hand and lead him to the roof.

"We aren't allowed up here but it's very calming up here." He chuckled at the fact that I've definitely been caught before up here, you could see everything around the scene.

"Are you sure you want to go?" He asked as he hugged me from behind "Sho, I have to, I can't fall behind." I knew he was worried about a villain attack happening and me getting hurt again "Promise me you won't go towards danger." I turned around to face him "I can't promise hon." He looked down at me and kissed me then went to my freckles "Shoto!" I laughed and I felt him smile as he kept kissing them "It tickles!" He pulled me closer from my waist and I smiled up at him "I can't help myself."

So, we got caught on the roof after we ate, now we're running from my grandmother.

"SHOTO, GRAB MY SHOULDERS." He grabbed on and I teleported us to the classroom and I ran to the trashcan and vomited and he did the same thing after me.

We both sat on the floor on the wall and after a few seconds we bursted out laughing, "She was so angry!" Shoto said "She's fast for an old woman!!" I leaned my head on his shoulder as we laughed "Her tiny legs are surprisingly fast." "I didn't expect someone so old to be so angry and fast."

We sat in comfortable silence as we calmed down and just leaned against each other, his hand was on my prosthetic one, I couldn't feel his hand but I saw it. "How have you really been since the attack?" He asked and I teased up "My brother said he had asked about your arm and you said it was nothing. Sorry about that, he's oblivious sometimes."

"I've been okay, I guess. I still sometimes wake up covered in sweat because I had seen it happen in nightmares a lot. My dad said I woke up screaming a couple of times but I don't remember that happening." He looked at me with worried eyes "I don't really like talking about it." He nodded and didn't ask any further, "If you need anything, I'm here, always." I closed my eyes and just focused on his breathing as he put his arm over my shoulder.

I felt safe with him. It feels like home.
