[20. I'll Go With You]

Shoto's POV

"You'll be okay." Nova held my hand while standing in front of me "You sure you can't come?" I asked and she chuckled "Do you really think you need me there?" She asked, I nodded, she sighed and gave in "Fine, I'll go with you."

We stood in front of the hospital and my nerves were through the roof "Sho." Nova held my hand again and squeezed it "Everything will be okay."

We walked up to the front desk and I told the lady who I was and she told us the room.

Once we stood in front of the door, my breath was shaky and I didn't know if I could do this but Nova reassured it was going to be okay, she made me feel better again. I took in one deep breath and knocked on the door, she opened the door and when she saw me her eyes had tears in them "Shoto." I hugged her and she cried into my shoulder.

"Hi mom." I said and she pulled away and smiled up at me "You've grown so much, so handsome too." She then soon saw the girl beside me and lit up "Oh come in." She let both of us in and analyzed Nova with a smile "Mom, this is Nova Aoki. My girlfriend." She smiled very wide now "You're gorgeous." Nova blushed at the compliment "Thank you Mrs Todoroki." "Oh please, call me Rei."

She turned back to me and the three of us sat down, I told her everything that's happened over time and she apologized so much. I also remembered Nova will hear some things for the first time.

"I met Nova at the entrance exam." Mom turned her complete attention to Nova once I finished telling her everything and she seemed very eager to get to know about us, I could tell she noticed Nova's arm but she didn't mention it. "So, how'd you two know you liked each other?" She asked and Nova blushed, so did I.

"After the U.S.J. Attack, Nova was so brave and selfless, she wanted to protect everyone there." Mom frowned, "I saw that on the news, wasn't someone injured?" Nova looked away "Yes but it wasn't either of us." I was lying but I knew she didn't like the topic so I changed it "So, how have you been doing?" I asked and she looked at me "I've been well, how have you and the other two been?" She asked "We've been okay." She smiled "I'm glad."

"We should get going, it's getting late." I said and looked at the time "Oh yes, but before you leave I have to talk to Nova dear."

Nova's POV

Shoto left the room and I turned to Rei "He seems happy, I'm guessing you're the cause?" She asked "I'm not sure I can be the cause of someone's happiness but I hope I make him happy." She smiled and pulled me into a hug "Please know you and Shoto can visit anytime, I'd love to get to know you more." She said and I nodded "I'll let him know."

"Have you told him yet?" She asked but I didn't know what she was getting at "Tell him what?" I asked "That you love him." I blushed "I-I haven't ye-yet." She smiled "But you do, don't you? I can see the way you look at him." I looked at her "Y-Yes but I don't know if he's there yet." "Trust me, he's there."

I was walking hand in hand with Shoto as he walked me home. I was still thinking about what Rei had said to me, I didn't realize I had stopped walking until Shoto pulled me out of my thoughts "You okay?" He asked and I looked up at him "Yeah, just thinking." I said "What about?"

She looked into his eyes and squeezed his hand, I want to tell you I love you but I'm not sure it's the right time.

"How much of an idiot you are." He looked at me so dumbfounded "You- you didn't just-" I walked ahead of him "Oh I did!" I laughed and he walked up behind me "So mean." I smiled "You should've known that by now."

Shoto held my hand as we walked and he obviously was thinking too.

"Hey Dad!" I walked in after I took my shoes off and Shoto was behind me "How is my favorite kid!" Dad hugged me "I'm your only kid." He chuckled and turned to Shoto "How's my favorite future son-in-law?" We both blushed "Dad!" I said and Shoto chuckled "I'm doing fine, how are you?"

The two started a conversation and I walked into my room so I could change into something more comfortable, and locking my door as I changed.

I walked back downstairs and my dad was showing Shoto my baby pictures.

"OH NO NO NO!!" I snatched the thing right out of his hands "No baby pictures!" Shoto shook his head as he chuckled "I let my sister show you mine, now it's your turn." I so badly wanted to teleport him out of my house but he just gave me the most innocent looking face, I gave in "You're an asshole." I handed it back to him as I sat right beside him.

"What's the story behind this one?" He asked and pointed at me with a group of children, I smiled "I spent a summer with my parents when I was four and I made a few friends during that time."

I looked at the picture and saw that my mom was in it along with my dad "Who's that?" Shoto asked and I was hesitant "That was my wife, she looks different now I guess since you asked that." Dad said "O-Oh... sorry for-" I shook my head "No, you're fine. That's what being in a relationship is right? Learning about each other's past and present." I flipped the page.

"Ah! There's me, Kirishima, Luce, Riku, and Aimi!" We were wearing these horrible school uniforms "God I hated that uniform."

No ones POV

Shoto listened to Nova talk about the picture but then he looked up at her from the pictures and just starred at her, he couldn't hear her anymore.

Nova's dad went off to grab his camera though they didn't know that.

She stopped talking as soon as she realized he wasn't listening but looking at her, she looked up at him confused.

"Sho? You alive?" She asked and he looked into her eyes, snapping out of it.

"I love you, Nova."
