A/N this chapter is dedicated to Exequinne thank you for encouraging me to update another chapter this weekend!
Before I knew it, it was New Years Eve and I have a huge dilemma on my hands. Every year I spend New Years with Zeke, Aria, Jess, and some other friends. We play games all night and watch the ball drop. This year I am with Ash. He wants me to spend the night with him. I invited him to hang out with us, but he said he didn't want to hang out with my friends. He only wants to spend time with me. But I love game night and my friends. I have no idea what I am going to do. I never thought that I would want to ditch my friends for my boyfriend, but here I am considering it.
What kind of girlfriend would I be if I told him I was going to spend time with my friends? But on the other hand what kind of friend would I be if I ditch them for a boy? What am I going to do? I really wish that Ash would step out of his comfort zone for one night and do something that I want to do. Plus I do not understand why he's so uncomfortable, he's friends with Jess. So what if others are there?
I give Ash a call so that we can try to work through this.
"Hey babe, what's up," Ash answers.
"Why don't you want to go with me to Zeke's?"
"I don't feel like they would accept me."
"That's not true. You know my friends and family would start to accept you more if you started acting like my boyfriend and not someone who is ashamed to be with me."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"You've never wanted to meet my family and you always say no when I invite you to hang out with me and my friends."
"That's not true. You never invite me to hang out with your friends and family."
"I do too, I've invited you multiple times to hang out with Aria and I with her boyfriend and everytime you came up with an excuse as to why you could not join us."
"I don't remember that."
"How convenient," I mumble. "I have made my decision. I'm going to Zeke's. You can join me or not. It is your choice."
"Have fun." He grumbles and hangs up the phone.
Wow, he just hung up on me. He's mad that I'm not spending New Years with him. I gave him an opportunity to spend the night with me and have fun but he turned me down. Before I'm going to stay up all night I decide to take a nap before I go to Zeke's.
I wake up just in time to get ready for our game night. I take a shower, get changed, and pack up all my games. Aria comes to pick me up so we can go to Zeke's for the night.
"Thank you for picking me up babe," I chime.
"Anytime. Is Ash coming tonight?"
"No, we had an argument today. I'm not very happy with him right now."
"What was it about?"
"He was mad because I'm ditching him for you guys. Although, I did invite him. I don't know why he was so grumpy today."
"He's always grumpy."
"With you, he's not grumpy with me," I argue."Yeah, yeah."
"I'm sorry I'm just frustrated with him. He isn't taking a chance to hang out with me and my friends. He says that he doesn't think that you guys would accept him. Which is crazy he hasn't even tried to be friends with you guys."
"No he hasn't," she agrees.
"Okay, I don't wanna talk about this anymore."
"That's fine hun."
