"Wuuuaarrggghh!" Haneul cried out loudly. Woozi rushed over and picked her up. "Shhh!" he cradled her gently, but Haneul only cried louder. "What's wrong, Haneul?" Woozi asked, concerned.
"Come here," S.Coups said, coming over and taking Haneul from Woozi.
"Hyung—"
"She's feeling uncomfortable. Look, she wants to be walked around," S.Coups explained as he walked around the room. Haneul immediately stopped crying.
Woozi pressed his lips into a thin line. "Hyung, I thought you hated humans," he whispered to himself.
Haneul grew day by day. It had been almost a year since she started living with the vampire family. She had grown particularly fond of Sofia, even though Sofia had to go back and forth between her house and the mansion.
Besides Sofia, Mingyu, Vernon, and Jun were also attached to her. Everyone knew that Haneul couldn't stay too far from Mingyu. Vernon and Jun, who often helped Sofia out, knew a lot about Haneul.
One evening, everyone was eating dinner at the dining table, including Haneul. While the others were eating raw steak with blood, Haneul was eating her porridge. S.Coups glanced at her porridge. "How can she eat something as disgusting as that?" he asked.
"What's wrong with it?" Jeonghan asked as he wiped the leftover porridge from the corner of her lips. "She still looks cute."
Haneul reached out and softly patted Jeonghan's face with her tiny hands.
They all squealed in excitement. "Her small, chubby hands are so cute!"
S.Coups sighed heavily. *These dummies,* he thought as he placed his cutlery on the table and stood up.
"Hyung?" Jun looked at him.
"I'll be in my room," S.Coups said, bowing slightly before walking past Jeonghan.Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Haneul reaching for a wine glass filled with blood.
"Haneul, no!" Jeonghan shouted, turning quickly from Vernon to her.
Just before the wine glass could topple over onto Haneul's head, S.Coups grabbed it firmly. However, a few drops of blood still fell onto Haneul's pure white face.
S.Coups looked at everyone at the table. "How many times do I have to tell you not to play around during meals?"
The room fell into complete silence.
S.Coups glanced at Haneul, who was blinking innocently at him. "She's a mess. Clean her up," he ordered before heading upstairs to his room.
Mingyu was about to stand up, but Jun stopped him. "I'll do it."
"Thanks," Mingyu replied.
Jun squatted in front of Haneul, looking at her intently. "She's not a mess. She's a princess." He gently wiped the blood from her face with his thumb. "There. My princess is all clean."
Haneul looked up at Jun with her bright, round eyes."Aww... Isn't she cute?" Hoshi asked with a wide smile, adoring Haneul's sincere expression. "But I don't understand why Coups hyung hates her so much," Minghao suddenly remarked.
Ten heads turned toward him.
Minghao played with his food. "What? It's true. I mean, yes, she's human. We all hate humans—"
"Ahem!" Mingyu cleared his throat.
"Well, except for you, of course. She's human, but she doesn't know anything at this age. She doesn't know we're vampires," Minghao explained.
