Chapter 8

S.Coups and Mingyu walked down the hallway, catching the attention of every student they passed. The students whispered in awe, "Look at them!" "Omo! They look like manga characters." "How can anyone look so perfect?"

Ignoring the murmurs, they headed straight to the school office before proceeding to the infirmary. Mingyu spoke with the teacher in charge while S.Coups watched over Haneul, who was sleeping. Even from a distance, he could feel the heat radiating from her body.Mingyu nudged S.Coups. "We can take her home now. I'll carry her," Mingyu offered.

"No, you carry her bag. I'll carry her," S.Coups replied, his eyes never leaving Haneul. Mingyu nodded in agreement.

S.Coups carefully slid his arms under Haneul and swiftly lifted her petite body into his arms. *Her body is burning up!* He turned to Mingyu. "Ask Vernon to contact Sofia immediately. We need someone to take care of her." Mingyu simply nodded in response.

Minghao hurriedly opened the front door, panic in his voice as he saw Haneul in S.Coups' arms. "Haneul-ah! Is she okay?" he asked, worry etched on his face.

"Sofia?" S.Coups asked as he headed upstairs.

"She's on her way with her kids," Minghao replied.

"Get her to Haneul's room as soon as she arrives. Do you understand?" S.Coups instructed, narrowing his eyes at Minghao, who quickly nodded, "Order received." With that, S.Coups carried Haneul to her room on the second floor.

Minghao turned to Mingyu. "What happened? I heard the school called."

"She just has a high fever. They said she fainted," Mingyu explained.

"She'll be fine, right?" Minghao asked, his worry clear.

Mingyu gave a soft smile. "She'll be okay."

"And you and Coups hyung? Are you guys okay? The sun didn't hurt you much, did it?" Minghao asked, concerned.

Mingyu shook his head with a smile. "The sun didn't hurt me too much. I'm fine."

Minghao nodded. "Glad to hear it."

Within half an hour, Sofia arrived at the mansion with her kids. "What happened? Where is she?" Sofia asked, her voice filled with concern.

"She's in her room. I was told to bring you to her right away," Minghao informed her.

"Understood. Take care of the kids for me," Sofia said, leaving her children with Minghao before rushing upstairs to Haneul's room.

Woozi entered the living room and noticed Sofia's kids. "Is Sofia here?" he asked, and Minghao nodded.

"She's with Haneul. She's got a high fever, so Coups hyung called for her," Minghao added, and Woozi nodded in understanding.

Upstairs, Sofia was busy wiping Haneul's body with a damp towel, her concern growing. *Her fever won't go away. What could have caused this?*

Sofia rushed out of the room and into the living room. "Do we have any ice? I need more," she asked urgently.

Woozi stood up. "We have some," he offered.

Sofia shook her head. "I think I'll need more, but I can't risk her seeing your power, Woozi oppa. Can someone go buy more ice?"

S.Coups appeared from the shadows. "What's the problem here?" he asked.

Sofia bowed slightly before responding, "Haneul's fever won't go down. I've been wiping her with water, but her body is so hot that the water evaporates almost instantly. She needs to be placed in ice."

"How much do you need?" S.Coups asked, his tone serious.

"About three bags, enough to fill half the tub," Sofia estimated.

S.Coups nodded and turned to Mingyu. "You're coming with me. The others can't be out in the sun."

Mingyu was already heading for the door. "Woozi, Minghao, watch the house and assist Sofia if she needs anything," S.Coups instructed. Both nodded in agreement.

"Sofia, stay with Haneul while we're out," S.Coups added, and Sofia nodded.

Ten minutes later, S.Coups and Mingyu returned with four bags of ice. They headed straight to Haneul's room, where Sofia had already half-filled the bathtub with water.

"Just pour the ice in. Can you help me carry her?" Sofia asked Mingyu.But before Mingyu could move, S.Coups stepped forward. "I'll do it. You handle the ice," he insisted.

"What? Why so suddenly—" Mingyu began to question but was cut off.

"Just do it, Kim Mingyu," S.Coups commanded, his eyes flashing red, revealing his pureblood nature. Being from a family line a level below S.Coups', Mingyu bowed his head in submission. 

"Yes, sir."

S.Coups rolled up his sleeves as he approached Haneul's bedside. "Haneul, we're going to put you in ice water. It might be cold, but it's for your own good, okay?" Sofia gently explained.

Haneul weakly looked up at her. "B-But I'm o-okay..." she replied in a hoarse voice.

"No, you're not. Your fever is rising, and I'm afraid it could affect your brain. Just hang in there, okay?" Sofia reassured her, stroking her hair. She then looked at S.Coups. "Please be gentle with her."

S.Coups nodded silently and, for the second time that day, scooped Haneul into his arms. *Her body is even hotter than before! What could be happening to you, Haneul?* he thought, concern etched on his face.

They carefully moved to the bathroom. Mingyu stood by the door, watching as S.Coups gently lowered Haneul into the cold water. Immediately, she cried out in pain.

"C-Cold!" Haneul tried to get out, but Sofia gently pushed her back in. "No, you have to stay in a little longer," Sofia said firmly.

Haneul began to shiver. S.Coups looked at Sofia with concern. "How long does she need to stay in there?"

"Just a little bit longer," Sofia replied, checking Haneul's temperature. She then turned to Mingyu. "Can you get me a few towels?"

"Sure," Mingyu responded, leaving the room.

"She can come out now," Sofia said after a few more minutes.

Without hesitation, S.Coups lifted Haneul out of the tub, holding her close despite his shirt getting soaked. *You're going to be okay,* he thought, looking down at the shivering girl in his arms.

Mingyu returned with several towels, and they quickly wrapped Haneul up. "You can lay her on the bed now. I'll take care of everything else. Thank you for your help," Sofia said, ushering S.Coups and Mingyu out of the room.

S.Coups blinked in surprise. "Did she just push us out?" he asked Mingyu.

Mingyu gave a half-hearted smile. "It seems like it. You should go change," he suggested, noticing S.Coups' wet shirt.

S.Coups nodded and walked away, leaving Mingyu watching after him. *Is it just me, or are you worried about Haneul, hyung?* Mingyu thought to himself.
