Haneul threw herself onto the bed and stared at the ceiling. "Why? Why couldn't he answer that?" she sighed heavily. She glanced out the window. The sun was up, and it was bright outside. She yawned widely. *Why am I suddenly so sleepy? *she wondered, grabbing a pillow and placing it over her face to block the sunlight.
*Damn the sun. It's so hot! *She got up from the bed and closed the curtains. "That's better." She threw herself back onto the bed, and slowly, she drifted off to sleep.
She woke up in the late evening, her face covered in sweat, and she was panting heavily. *What was that?* she thought, placing a hand over her fast-beating heart. "Calm down, Haneul. It was just a dream," she said, trying to soothe herself. She climbed out of bed and decided to take a shower.
Afterward, Haneul went downstairs, where Joshua, Jun, Minghao, and Wonwoo were gathered.
"Oh, hi, princess," Jun smiled. Haneul walked weakly toward them and took the empty seat next to Jun, laying her head on his thigh. "What's wrong, princess?" Joshua asked. "I had a bad dream," she replied. Jun's slender fingers played with her wet hair. "It was just a dream, princess," Jun said calmly. "But it felt so real. I was sweating so much when I woke up," she said.
Minghao turned to her, "Do you want Wonwoo to look into your dream? He's—" "Yah!" Wonwoo quickly covered his mouth. "What? Is it about your power?" Haneul asked. Joshua frowned, "You know?" he asked.
Haneul sat up from Jun's thigh. "S.Coups oppa told me about it. So, what's your power, Wonwoo oppa?" she asked.
"It's nothing like S.Coups hyung's power, but I can read people's minds, and I can control dreams too," Wonwoo answered timidly. Haneul smiled, "That's so cool! I've always wanted to read people's minds."
Wonwoo shook his head, "It's not as cool as you think, Haneul. Sometimes, it gets too loud. You hear voices everywhere. But I've got my power under control now, so I only read certain people's minds at certain times," Wonwoo explained.
Haneul turned to face Jun. "Jun oppa, what about you?" she asked. "I can control time. I can go to the past, but the future is my limit. And I can stop time," Jun said proudly. "Shua oppa?" Haneul asked.
"I can heal people, and I can do this too." Joshua directed his hand toward the wilted flower on the coffee table. After a moment, the flower bloomed again, looking fresh.
Haneul's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow! That is so cool. What about you, Minghao oppa?" she asked, turning to Minghao.
"I can control shadows. Should I show you? But I'm afraid you'll freak out," Minghao said. "I want to see it!" Haneul said enthusiastically. "Okay then." Minghao stood up and went to the corner of the room. He switched on the standing lamp at the corner. He looked down at his shadow. Slowly, a dark solid figure emerged from it.
Haneul unconsciously clutched Jun's sleeve. He chuckled, "It's okay, princess." "But it doesn't have a face," Haneul said. "I can give it one, but it'll look scarier than this. Should I?" Minghao asked. "No!" Haneul quickly replied. Minghao laughed. "Oppa, can I touch it?" she asked. "Go ahead," Minghao nodded.
Haneul got up and cautiously approached the shadow. "Don't be afraid, Haneul. This guy's going to be around a lot in the future," Minghao reassured her. Haneul nodded hesitantly. She reached out her hand, and the shadow did the same. She finally touched it and shook hands with the shadow. Her expression softened. "It feels so fluffy," Haneul said with a small smile. "That's because I want it to be that way. I can make it have spikes, or make it taller—whatever you want," Minghao smiled.
"Nah, this is more than enough," Haneul said, then hugged the shadow tightly. "It feels like a human-sized teddy bear. I love it. This could be my cuddling partner."
"What about me? Don't you want to cuddle with me anymore, Haneul?" Jun asked. "No thanks. I like this better," she replied without hesitation. "What?" Jun said, disappointed. Haneul just giggled.
Haneul, Mingyu, DK, and Seungkwan were in the kitchen, preparing dinner—or breakfast, for some. Haneul was making her signature dessert: bread pudding. DK was preparing seafood stew and rice, Seungkwan was plating kimchi, and Mingyu was making water kimchi stew for everyone.
"Seungkwan oppa," Haneul called. "Yes, princess?" he answered without turning around, busy with his kimchi. "What's your power?" she asked. Three heads turned toward her.
"Well, S.Coups oppa told me about you guys having powers. I've seen S.Coups oppa's power, and I've seen Minghao oppa, Jun oppa, Shua oppa, and Wonwoo oppa's. So, what about you?" Haneul asked.
Seungkwan cleared his throat. "Well, I can walk through things and see through them." "What? Really?" Haneul asked excitedly. Seungkwan nodded, "That's how I knew you were still awake when you locked yourself in your room, princess," he answered. "You need to show me," Haneul smiled. "Maybe later, princess," Seungkwan smiled.
"DK oppa?" Haneul turned to him. "My power isn't as strong as the others', Haneul. My voice—that's my power," DK told her. She looked at him, puzzled. "DK hyung has a loud and high-pitched voice. When he screams, he can blow up a tree or even crack a building," Seungkwan explained on DK's behalf. "That is so cool," Haneul smiled. "It's nothing," DK said, rubbing his nape uneasily. Haneul just smiled.
"Mingyu oppa too. One day, I want to see your power. You can't really use it in the house, right? Thunder indoors? That's a no-no," Haneul smiled. "You knew?" Mingyu asked, and she nodded eagerly. "S.Coups oppa," she smiled.
"You spend a lot of time with S.Coups hyung, huh?" DK said. "Well, he just doesn't want me to disturb you guys," Haneul said.
*But I thought he hates Haneul*, Mingyu thought.
