Chapter 37

"We've been walking for almost two hours, hyung! It's going to be morning soon!" Woozi groaned. "Calm down, will you?! We'll find place soon." Jeonghan scolded him which made him kept his mouth shut at once.

"Oh?" Haneul stopped abruptly as she saw something deep in the forest. "What's wrong Haneul?" DK asked her. "There's someone there." Haneul answered him. Everyone went to a dead silent until Hoshi spoke, "What are you talking about, Haneul? There's no one here, except for us." He said. "No, I'm positive there's someone there." Haneul was sure of what she saw. "Be alert, guys. We don't know what's out here with us." S.Coups said waved his hand, reducing the amount of fireballs that were used to light up the surrounding.

Everyone was on their guard. "But I don't sense anything." Joshua whispered. "There! I saw him!" with that, Haneul ran towards the pitch black path. "Yah, Haneul!" S.Coups yelled. "Let's go!" Mingyu was the first one to run after her. "Kim Haneul!" Vernon called her.

"Seungkwan, use your power!" Jun shouted to Seungkwan. "I'm on it!" Seungkwan answered. As they were running, Seungkwan scanned the whole forest, as he can see through things up to approximately 3km ahead of him. "I couldn't see her!" Seungkwan said.

"Look carefully! She can't be too far!" S.Coups was mad. "Hyung, I really can't see her!" Seungkwan said. Before S.Coups could threw his tantrum, Seungkwan continued. "I see her!! Follow me!" Seungkwan was now leading the others as he ran ahead of them.

"Haneul!" Seungkwan called her. She turned and looked at him calmly. One by one, the others appeared from the dark. "Yah, Haneul!" S.Coups went to hug her, "Don't run off like that, you idiot! It's dangerous!" S.Coups scolded. "But I saw that grandpa walked into that house."

S.Coups and the others frowned, "Grandpa? House?" Minghao asked. "Coups-ah, your fire." Jeonghan said. S.Coups created few fireballs around them, enough to light up the dark.

Right before them, was an abandoned house, more like a mansion. "Wow, what is this house doing here?" Jun asked.

"I don't know but that Grandpa wants us to come in." Haneul told her. "Haneul, what Grandpa? We see no one!" Woozi said. "Trust me oppa. He told me that we can stay here for tonight." Haneul said before she took few steps towards the mansion.

S.Coups quickly grabbed onto her hand, "Stop right there, Haneul." He looked at her worriedly. Haneul laced her fingers with his, "Trust me, oppa. Come with me and you'll know that this is the best place we can stay for tonight. Besides, it's almost morning. They can't be in sun." Haneul said, reminding him about the others.

S.Coups just let out a heavy sighed, "We'll stay here for tonight." He told them. "What if they attack us again?" Vernon DK asked. "Don't worry. Let me, S.Coups hyung and Haneul stay on guard. You guys have some sleep first. We'll look around the place when morning comes." Mingyu told them.

"Sounds like a plan. You're okay with that?" Minghao asked Haneul and she nodded eagerly. "I don't mind. We can see better when it's morning. So just rest assure and leave everything to us." Haneul smiled.

"Okay then, let's go inside." Hoshi said. S.Coups led the way as he was the first one to open the door. The old door let out a loud squeak. The house was dark. S.Coups waved his hand and few fireballs created to light out part of the house. The boys entered the house and looked around. "From what I see, this house is a lot bigger than our home." Jun looked around. They were at the living room and it's big. From where they're standing, they could see the stairs to the second floor. "I agree." Joshua nodded as he looked around the living.

Vernon nestled the furniture. "There's so much dust in here. I feel stuffed inside." "Let me help with that." Haneul waved her hands, creating a mild wind in the living room. Specs of dust floating in the air.

"I'll open the window for you." Woozi went to a window and pushed it open. "Thank you." Haneul channeled the wind to blow outside through the window, carrying the dust.

"Much better." Wonwoo inhaled. "For now, just sleep on the couches and floor. We'll explorer the perimeter." Mingyu said. "Okay. Wake us up is you're sleepy. We exchange place." Seungkwan said. Mingyu, Haneul and S.Coups nodded. One by one, the boys fell asleep on the couches and floor. S.Coups reduced the light source while Haneul make sure to keep the room ventilated with her wind.

"So should we take a look outside? Or should we stay inside?" Mingyu asked them. "I'll say inside. We have about two hours before the sun rise. It might be dangerous to stay outside at this hour." S.Coups said. Mingyu nodded, "Sure. Should we go in group?" he asked again. "I say we go separately. This is a big house. We can explore more if we each go to a different place." Haneul suggested. "I'm okay with that but does S.Coups hyung let you wonder alone?" Mingyu looked at Haneul before he looked at S.Coups.

S.Coups looked at Haneul. "Make sure to shout as loud as you can if anything happen, or give us a sign." S.Coups reminded her and she just nodded. "Very well. We'll go outside once the sun rise. Here." S.Coups created fireballs and gave three fireballs to each of them. "Watch your steps." S.Coups reminded them. Mingyu and Haneul nodded.

Mingyu decided to explore the ground floor while S.Coups and Haneul will explore the second floor. S.Coups decided to go for the south part of the floor while Haneul explored the west part of the floor.

Haneul entered a room. It was a normal looking room; furniture covered with white cloths, pictures of the wall were covered with dust and broken glass window. Haneul looked around the room. "Hmm? Nothing's weird in this room." Just then she stopped in front of a portrait. She cleaned the dust from the surface. It was a picture of an old man.

She stared at it for a while before realization hit her. She ran out from the room and headed towards the south part of the floor, where S.Coups is. "S.Coups oppa." She called him from the hallway. S.Coups walked out from a room, "Yes?" "Can you come with me for a while?" Haneul called him. Without saying anything, S.Coups went to her and she led the way back to the room she was in a moment ago.

"I found this picture of an old man. He looks exactly like a man from my dream." She spoke to S.Coups. He frowned, "You had a dream?" he asked and she nodded, "For a while, yes." "And you don't even bother to tell me?" S.Coups stopped walking and so did Haneul. "Come on, it's not serious. It's not like the other dreams. That man didn't even look bad." Haneul said. "Just come and I'll show you. You might know him." She continued to walk and S.Coups followed closely from behind.

Once they entered the room, Haneul hurriedly went to the portrait but weirdly, the portrait wasn't there. "So where's the picture?" S.Coups asked Haneul as he looked around the room. Haneul looked around the room in puzzle. "I-it was h-here when I left the room." Haneul freaked out. "Are you seeing things, Haneul?" S.Coups asked. "No! It's here! I'm sure of it. I even cleaned away the dust." Haneul then thought of something. "That's it! Look at my hand. I still have the du-" Haneul's eyes quiver when she saw her hands were clean. There's no sign of dust or sign that she cleaned something.

"Wh-What? I don't get it! It was here a moment ago! I'm sure!" Haneul said. S.Coups looked at her, "Haneul, you must be tired. You should get some rest." He tried to grab her hand but she pulled away. "No! I'm sure it's here!" Haneul looked really puzzle. S.Coups slowly walked up to her and pulled her into a comforting hug.

She blushed hardly. "Op-Oppa!" "Calm down, Haneul. You just being tired." S.Coups said. "But-" "I believe you. If you say the picture is there, then I believe you. If you say it's not there, I believe. So stop worrying too much." S.Coups calmly said. Haneul clutched onto his shirt, "I know you don't believe me...but thank you for saying that." Haneul thanked him. "Anything for you." S.Coups kissed her head before he pulled her closer and let her rested her head on his chest.

Outside from the room, Mingyu's fist tightened. He closed his eyes for a moment before he opened his eyes again. *you blew your chance, Kim Mingyu. She's your sister. She's Coups hyung's mate.* he thought. He breathed out calmly before he pushed himself off the wall and headed downstairs.
