With and Without You (A Jordan Knight Fanfiction)

Chapter 5

Jordan got home that night and couldn't wait to see her again. He was surprised how much he liked this girl. She was amazing. For some reason he wanted to get to know her better. He didn't understand his feeling this way, she was leaving, she'd be going back to Texas at the end of the week. He'd probably never see her again. But all he wanted was to know all he could learn about her before she left. The craziest part, he knew there would be no sex. He'd never tried this hard with a girl when there wasn't at least a strong possibility of sex in the end.

Jordan picked up the phone and dialed her number. It was late, but Angie had her line, no chance of waking her parents. Angie answered on the first ring. When she heard it was Jordan asking for Vivian she laughed and said "I knew setting you two up was a good idea. Hold on I'll take her the phone."

"Hello?"

"Hi Viv. Its Jordan. I know I just saw you, but I wanted to know if you'd like to go out tomorrow"?

She smiled and did a little happy dance  since she knew he couldn't see her. "Yes, I'd like that."

"Okay then I'll pick you up at 7:30. Sweet dreams beautiful." And be hung up.

Vivian got into her bed and couldn't help but smile. She thought about Jordan. His smile, his adorable dimple, his gorgeous eyes. Then she thought him singing to her on the beach tonight.  She was really impressed, he was so good. He gave her goosebumps when he was singing to her. He looked directly into her eyes and she melted. She wanted to know more about him. He was a senior this year, she wondered if he planned to go to college next year. She wondered if he'd be around this summer whe she came to visit again.  Would he want to see her again? Why did she feel so anxious about whether or not he'd want to see her again this summer, she just met him. It shouldn't matter to her.  She's only going to be here a few more days. Then she's going to be back home. But she knows that she is coming back for the entire summer if she wants to. She hopes he'll be here this summer. She goes to sleep thinking about the possibility of seeing Jordan again this summer. 

When Vivian went into the kitchen the next morning her dad told her he  wanted to spend the day together. He wants to go look at a couple of colleges. He'd like for her to consider going to college in Boston.  She always thought she'd either go to SMU or UT. Those have always been her top two school choices, but then she never thought going to an out of State school was an option.  Now that her dad was making it clear that she could go to  college in Boston she wasn't sure about where she wanted to go. She was now really excited about how her dad wanted to spend their day together.

The first campus they visited was of course her dad's first choice for her,  Harvard. She thought it was a little out of her league.  But she really liked the campus.  They did a whole tour, it was a lot of fun.  She felt like it was a little too much for her.  Her dad wanted to drop by MIT but she decided against that.

Next they went to Northeastern University. It was nice. But she had really wanted to just check out Boston University. She was happy it was next on her dads list.  She loved this campus it was awesome. They were in the quad halfway dome with their tour when she saw him. Jordan! He saw her at the same time.  A huge smile spread across both of their faces. He jogged over to where she and her dad were standing.

"Hey Vivian".
"Hey Jordan. What are you doing here"?

He said, "I'm checking out the campus,  I'll be going here next year. What are you doing here?"

"My dad and I are just looking at a few campuses. He wants me to think about going to school in Boston after graduation.  I'm not to sure about it though. It's so far away from Texas. But we'll see. It can't hurt to apply. And keep my options open."

Jordan finds himself liking the idea of her moving to Boston for college. Then realizes he's getting excited about something that isn't for sure. And it wouldn't even happen for another year,  she's only a junior in high school. He can't believe he's thinking about the future and spending time with this amazing girl in that future. What had gotten into him? He didn't know but he didn't mind it. He wanted to get to know her. He really liked her. She seemed special, different.

Seeing Jordan at BU and hearing he's going here next year suddenly made it her first choice of schools. She looked at Jordan when her dad mentioned wanting her to move to Boston. His eyes  slighted widened in surprise, as if it was a good surprise.  She thought she noticed the corners of his mouth twitch slightly as well. Oh my God, she thought, he likes me!! He's thinking about me going to his school and likes the idea!!  It thrilled her to think this amazingly gorgeous guy liked her, even though he knew there would be no sex. Her heart fluttered in her chest and she couldn't help but smile. She wished her dad wasn't here, she really wanted to kiss Jordan right now!

Jordan hung out with Vivian and her dad for a little while longer, then he told Vivian he'd see her at 7:30. He kissed her on the cheek and was off. Vivian felt heat rise up in her face. She was lost in thoughts of Jordan's lips when her dad cleared his throat. She looked at her dad and he was grinning at her. "What Dad"?

"Oh nothing sweetheart. It's just I think someone has a crush" he said. Vivian felt embarrassed. "Dad I do not have a crush on him".

He laughed, "Vivi my sweet girl, I was talking about him. But...I think its a mutual crush. Tell your old dad the truth, do you like this boy? Is he being nice to you and treating you like a lady should be treated"?

"Daaaaaad stop!!! Yes he's very nice to me. He's a real gentleman. And he's so talented, he's a singer. He wants to sing professionally one day. I swear he'll be famous one day. He's that good. I think I'm definitely going to apply to go to BU. Do you think mom will be okay with it if I decided to go to to college in Boston? I mean I've never been away from her". Vivian did worry it would hurt her mom if she moved to Boston after high school.

"Listen Punkin Doodle, your mom will be fine if you decide to come live in Boston after high school. You've got to decide what you want for yourself,  okay. Make your decision based only on what you want".

She smiled at her Dad's use of the nickname he called her. He hadn't called her that in years. "Dad, you haven't called me that in years. I almost forgot how much I've missed you since you moved up here. I'd like to be able to see you more. I'll think really hard about going to school up here. Its be nice to see you every day." She wraps her arms around her dad and almost cries thinking about how much she misses him.
