my soul ripping
my tears I hide
behind a mask of happiness?can you see me crying

all alone
in my room?can you see me
holding that knife
my salty tears further stinging
the wound?can you see me
hugging my pillow tight
wishing that your words
would stop playing in my head?can you see the tears
I hide so well
behind my mask
of smiles?can you see the scars
on my skin
on my soul
on my heart?can you?
if you can't,
dont assume.dont assume
that I'm always happy
that I'm fine
that I can take your punches
in the form of wordsdont assume
that I'll still stay by you
even if you try to test
my boundariesdont assume.
it was your assumption
that you're worse off than me
that made me feel so small, so uselessand it was your assumption
that made me
end things.once and for all.
