rose-tinted glasses

I'm not really co fident about this poem but I'll throw it out there anyways. Hope you enjoy!

ok, now back to the poem:

you gave me rose-tinted glasses
that made me see all the good in you.
but in reality, you were a conman
tricking me into giving you my heart.

why did I believe you
and put on those glasses?
because of that mistake
I was blinded from then on.

those glasses took away my eyesight
took away my judgement.
in the end, I misjudged you.
I horribly misjudged you.

you broke me to pieces
smashed my heart into smithereens
tore my soul apart
and for the first time,
removed my glasses.

my eyesight was back.
my judgement was back
and finally, finally
I saw you for who you really were.

you were a trickster
tricking me, manipulating me
With your lies
leading me to a dead end
a death trap.

you were a wolf in sheep's clothing
pretending to be nice to get what you want
I was just too stupid
to see the wolf in you.

I was too stupid
too blind
to have seen
the monster in you.

I was too stupid.
and maybe my stupidity
led me to my downfall.
one that I will never get out of.
