Narrator's POV:Dianne felt the soft glow of the summer sun rise onto her skin, the fine gap in the curtains resulting in a beam of warm light cascading into Joe's room and landing on her face. She opened her eyes properly only to find herself blinded by that very beam, causing her to close her eyes promptly once again, after all, being blinded by the sun is never the most sought after way of waking up. In her half awake state, Dianne felt a sudden amount of relief flood over her, the feeling of guilt and the feelings of hatred she harboured within her for too long, pretty much behind her now that she knew that everything between her and Joe would be okay. On the train home yesterday, she couldn't help but fear for what she was coming back to, as the journey she took on the train yesterday afternoon was almost an exact replica of the one she took home from Liverpool a month prior, and we all know how that ended up. But thankfully, that was all behind her now; and Dianne was one again in a place in her life that could only be described as a sanctuary. With a warm and loving home, her boyfriend who she loved all too much, amazing friends that came along with a spell bounding career and a feeling of happiness in her bones, Dianne felt herself harbouring a sense of calm and relaxation which she had struggled to feel since she left home at 19 and headed off around the world on tour.
Allowing herself to indulge in a few extra moments of sleep, Dianne took the opportunity of being off of tour to spend quality time with her boyfriend, whether that was late at night over dinner, or bright and early in the morning when the two of them had just woken up. Or more when she had just woken up, after all, Joe was never one for waking up early. In recognition of her boyfriends all to predictable habits, Dianne rolled over onto her side, moving her head to its usual place where Joe's chest should have been. However this morning, the absence of Joe's strong, yet comforting, body resulted in her head dropping quickly onto the cold sheets below - startling the tired red head, forcing her to wake up properly this time. The white glow of the bed sheets, and the missing boy from them instantly making the room seem cold and slightly less inviting to stay in. Stretching every muscle she possibly could, all of them being tired and achy from tour, Dianne made her way out of bed, across to Joe's wardrobe pulling on one of his oversized hoodies and her own shorts that were lying on the floor where she carelessly chucked them after taking them off last night. As she left their room, Dianne was instantly drawn downstairs into the kitchen after the smell of eggs and some sort of breakfast concoction being cooked form Joe's kitchen. Heading down the steps quietly, and carefully, Dianne headed into the living room to find Joe's back turned to the door, his attention focused on something deeply. Seeing an opportunity to get her own back after every time Joe had made her jump in the past, Dianne sat down quietly on one of the bar stools and waited for the right moment. As Joe moved to get something out of the fridge, she took her chance.
"MORNING!" She yelled, causing Joe to flinch and spin quickly around to her. As the bubbly red head began convulsing in giggles at the fear stricken look across his face, Joe couldn't help but smile at the imminent joy that was brought back into his house so early in the morning. It reminded him of the times that he and Byron used to joke over breakfast, and now he was so grateful that even after Byron had moved out, Joe still had someone to joke with in the early mornings.
"What is wrong with you?" Joe questioned still in shock at the scare of his life.
Still laughing uncontrollably, Dianne failed to answer his question, so instead, Joe walked around the kitchen island and up behind the giggling form of his girlfriend. "You, Miss Buswell are cruising for a bruisin' at this rate I tell ya." Joe retaliated jokingly as he pressed his body onto her back, as his arms snaked around her shoulders, placing a soft kiss on her temple.
"I'm sorry Joe, but you've been with me for too long now, I've finally begun to pick up your tricks. You don't even know what's heading your way." Dianne replied now that she was composed. Joe chuckled lightly as he stayed clung onto Dianne, smiling at the fact he now had what could only be described as an apprentice for his pranks - someone to teach how to scare the shit out of your friends and then not have them call you for 48 hours after. "You're very cuddly this morning aren't you Mr Sugg." Dianne said, not so secretly enjoying the feeling of his body wrapped around hers. "Is that okay? Or would you like me to stay at least 10 meters away from you for the rest of the day?" Joe questioned sarcastically. "No you can stay," Dianne began, "However you might want to leave for a few moments at least." "And why would I want to do that?" Joe questioned squeezing her tighter. "Because I can smell your eggs burning." Dianne quipped before turning to see the shocked look on Joe's face for the second time that morning. "Oh shit!!" He replied before leaving Dianne's side and rushing back round to turn off the hob.
