A/N Hey people, sorry it's such a late one! Hope you enjoy it, please let me know what you thought about it below. Thank you xx

Narrator's POV:

Their day had continued much in the way that it had begun. The continued amble around Mykonos town was taken in small, slow, gentle steps along the rocky facade of the cobbled streets and large steps that resembled the sort of thing you expected to find on the set of 21st century re-make of a Greek legend film. The mountainous steps they had to take to get to the windmills had definitely taken a toll on even Joe and Diannes fit and able bodies, their muscles for sure feeling the effects of what ended up being a much more physically exerting walk into their surroundings than they were anticipating. The collection of blisters and scratches on Diannes feet, which had only just begun to recuperate after 6 months of tormentuous pounding whilst on tour, had definitely not been helped by the dusty pathways attacking her, with no protection other than the open toed sandals she bought on a whim at the airport on their way out of the UK. But all in all, the smile Joe had managed to put on her face from the moment that she had woken up, never failed to waiver throughout the day.

But now Dianne laid awake, the gentle blue glow of the cave pool seeping under the blind, as if it were an emergency exit. But that gentle glow was not what was keeping the red head awake that night. Laying on her back, the soft white covers cushioning her weary muscles, Dianne's head was refusing to let her fall asleep that night. His words were flowing through her head as fluidly as the blood in her veins. 'Don't you be getting any ideas now... haha absolutely no way!' Dianne knew that in his own head, Joe's words were completely innocent. She knew in her heart that the two of them wanted the same things in life - marriage, kids, their future years spent with someone that they love, making memories every day with that would last a life time. And despite the intended innocence of his words, they managed to cut Dianne's damaged heart like a hot knife through butter.

Deciding that sleep was a lost cause, the admittedly tired red head quietly clambered out from under the covers, attempting not to wake Joe who was slept peacefully on the other side of the bed, the warmth of their location forcing him to turn his back to her - closing off his body to any form of contact between the two of them. But Dianne's heart was not effected by what a couple of weeks ago would have almost definitely hurt her. Instead she found herself grateful that she could escape him so easily. As she threw the covers back onto the bed, she tiptoed her way across to their joint suitcase pulling out what she soon found out to be one of Joe's suit shirts that he had brought with him. Wrapping it around herself to keep her modesty, she inhaled the scent of his aftershave that remained on the collar from when he wore it to dinner the previous night. That very scent had been printed into her brain since the first week of Strictly, almost a year ago. Remembering as she used to watch him as he secretly spritzed himself with the potent liquid, thinking that she couldn't see him. Only now had Dianne realised that the meaning behind his repetitive action was much more important to Joe than just keeping himself fresh after running through a high energy Charleston routine fro the 20th time. It was to impress her.

Even the slightest, most unimportant things when they were dancing were important to Joe - such as the smell he exuded to the girl he was trying to so desperately impress, both on and off the dance floor. And despite waiting until week 5 to make any sort of move on Dianne, she realised only in the months after training and the competition had come to an end, that even since day 1 of knowing her, Joe's held stares and subtle actions were his own way of showing how much he wanted her. How much he felt like he needed to impress her. His own way of showing that there was a girl in his life who he wanted to be his. But now that he had her, and was certain that she wasn't planning on going anywhere, Dianne couldn't help but feel as if Joe had stopped trying.
