Everything I do, there's a problem
You always seem to find it
You nitpick the unnecessary
And know how to kill my vibe;
I wished you stopped listening to all the outside voices
And let me be me
But you rather the restrictions
And to confine me to constraints.
Constraints of what's deemed normal
Of how I should be
It's what you're used to, it's what you've been taught for years
I can't blame you, you're really not the main person to blame
And yes, if I were in your shoes, I possibly could understand the shame.
To accept something different
It may be hard.
I love you, I really do
But honestly, I'm sick and tired of trying to reach a compromise with you.
