In which Charles and Jug are not related and falice never had a kid, because Charles is Alice and Hal's. Also Polly is the eldest child, and there are two years between each Cooper kid. imagine the way they call each other lovey the way Colleen calls Erik lovey and LOVE especially in their birth vlog video. 🥰 also I'm sorry if this makes no sense lmao.

Jughead only decided to join the band because he owed them all some favors.

They'd been best friends since grade school, and his family had always taken him in as a kid if his father had fallen of the wagon. Jughead, Charles, Archie and Kevin were all the same grade.

The band was Archie's idea, obviously. Kevin had joined along because he had years of theatrical training and his singing was amazing. Archie liked playing the guitar, and he had quite the nice voice.

Charles had been groomed since he was a child that a gentleman knows the piano, and so he'd gotten really fucking good at it, and that was a great skill to have if they wanted to actually start a band.

The drums just came naturally to Jughead. They were in the back, not a lot of people noticed the drummer and so it was the perfect spot. He could sing too, but he'd never tell anyone that. English and music were the only subjects in school in which he got A's, though he told everyone he got C's. Music was a secret talent that no one needed to know he possessed, so during their first practice when they all called their instruments and Jughead had been shrugged, "I can play whatever, but honestly, those drums are mine."
.

When Archie said, "hey! We should start a band!"

And Kevin and Charles followed with, "bro! We have to start a band!" And, "fuck! Why haven't we started a band yet?!"

He really had no other option than to comply

This was back when they were 14, and now they were 17, and they were really fucking good.
.

As they all tried their instruments for the first time, Archie had called, "What do you mean you can play whatever?" He laughed.

Jughead rolled his eyes and had stepped behind the drum set. He sat down behind it and flattened a palm out toward Kevin, "sticks, please."

Kevin shuffled to go get the drumsticks from the floor in front of his feet and handed them over. Jughead sat down fully, cracked his neck in both directions before he examined the sticks. He looked at them for ten seconds before he switched what stick was in what hand. He twirled the left one once before he started playing. He did one of the original drum solos you often saw at concerts.

When he was finished, he put the sticks down and headed toward the piano, he gave Charles a look at which the blonde boy backed away from the instrument. Jughead steadied his hands above the keys before he started playing a rather complicated Coldplay song. Charles whistled through his teeth in shock before Jughead decided he was finished and started walking toward Archie with and easy smile.

"The only thing I can't play is the guitar," he scratched at the back of his neck awkwardly, "we could never afford a real one growing up so I can only play the ukulele."

Archie's face was awestruck.

"Okay guys! This is the last practice before we play our show tonight! Let's give it all we got, okay?" Charles called out the the rest of the boys. All of them nodded and went away from the little snack bar with the mini fridge that Fred has set up for them in the garage, and over to their respective instruments.

Fred had been their biggest supporter since day one. He even soundproofed the garage when Archie told him the wanted to start a band and use his garage as their rehearsal location.
