"Sundance, wake up. I don't have time for this." I heard. It's like a worm in my ear. He won't shut up. "Go away Jer..." I groaned. "Okay, cya." Jeremy laughed and left. My head was ringing.

I sat up and put my hand in my hair, then (for a little motivation) threw a pillow across the room so I could get up and put it back. I turned my radio on and heard one of my favorite songs play (Girlfriend- Avril)

No, it's not a secret
Hey, hey
You, you
I want to be your girlfriend

It was a banger, honestly. I smiled at the song choice and grabbed my toothbrush and outfit and went to the bathroom to change.

I can see the way
I see the way you look at me
And even when you look away
I know you think of me

I placed a chain necklace upon my neck so it sat in between my collarbones and did my makeup and walked downstairs.

"Come on, let's go!" I ushered Elena. All that was on my mind was seeing my friends. "Give me a minute!" My sister scoffed and grabbed her backpack and began walking. I put my earbuds in and followed my sister. "Where is Jer?" I questioned. "He went off to smoke. I swear I'm gonna-"
"Elena, chill. He is coping." I snapped. It got quiet again.

"Originally discovered nearly 5 centuries ago, it hasn't been over Mystic Falls in over 145 years. Now, the comet will be its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration. Are we bothering you, Mr. Salvatore? Ms. Gilbert?"

A voice snapped. I lifted my head and saw Elena and Stefan, staring into each other's eyes. I chuckled when Elena's cheeks turned pink and she turned away. Stefan looked over at me and looked me up and down. I felt my jaw drop. "You belong to Elena, you little tool." I playfully mouthed. He smirked. Oh boy.

The bell rang and I was the first one to sprint out the door. I ran into Matt and walked alongside him. "Hi, Matt." I smiled. "Hey, Sun. Everything okay?" He asked.
"Yeah. How has everything been? I've missed hanging out with you. You can be cool...when you want." I teased, laughing. Matt was confused but went along with it. "Thanks, I guess. Everything has been good. What about you? Has Seth bothered you?" I forgot about that...
My throat went dry. "O-oh. No." I shook my head. "If he does, tell me. I'll kick his ass."
"Thanks, Donovan."

We walked outside and were soon approached by Elena. Matt's eyes lit up and it felt like sparks had just ignited within him. It felt awkward between the exes so I shuffled away from the two and sat down at a bench.

I grabbed a black journal from her backpack and flipped the pages open and began writing.

Elena suggested I journaled instead of getting blacked out drunk like I usually do for a coping skill. Hi, I'm Sundance. Wow, this is annoying.

I'm sitting in front of my sister and her ex and my sister's boyfriend is on the bench in front of them as well. That's awkward. Speaking of awkward and annoying, I hate being left out and being in third place. I could be hanging out with literally anyone for hours and if Elena were to walk over, it'd be about her in an instant. I'm her shadow. But she deserves it. I agree with society and it sucks. Elena is sweet and kind and her smile lights up the room. She's protective and perfect in every way. I just wish that perhaps I could be Elena for a minute. A minute of being adored. A minute of knowing I am visible. A minute knowing I have boys circling me. A minute of pure love.
