♡-find someone that loves you better than I do, darling, I know...'cause you remind me every day, I'm not enough, but I still stay-♡
We were quiet as we got in. I laid down in the backseat and drank a blood bag or two while staring at the roof of the car. My heart ached so much it was unbearable. It feels like I'm walking on a wire and one wrong move will have me falling into a pit of my own personal hell. One wrong step and I could be a female version of Klaus. "Is she asleep?" I heard a British voice asked lowly. "Nope," Stefan replied, popping the p. "She likes you, you know." Klaus shrugged. Anger boiled through my veins. "I hear you, you raging asshole!" I spat. "Really? Incredible. I thought this foot of distance between us would keep your nose out of things." Klaus chuckled sarcastically. Stefan let out a long, heavy, blow. "Can you both just shut up?" He suggested. "Fine with me," I mumbled back. Klaus slammed on the brakes and I went flying forward, reminding me of the car crash. I took a deep breath and slapped the back of Klaus's curls, then got out. Klaus didn't really care at this point. He was used to my sassy attitude and such.
We were back at the warehouse and Stefan and I were waiting for the proper moment to reveal ourselves to this "Rebekah" they knew.
It was silent between Stefan and me I. All I wanted to do was wrap him into a hug and comfort him but it seems nearly impossible now. The blonde paced by the door. He stopped at locked our eyes. "Is it true?" He asked, hinting towards what Klaus said. "I have no idea what you're talking about," I replied, taking my bottom lip in between my teeth nervously. "Sundance..." He sighed. "Stefan..." I mocked. He nearly cracked a smile. "Please just answer my question."
"Go to hell, Nik!" A lady yelled. "That's going fantastic." I changed subjects. "Sundance!" Stefan tried to redirect my attention. "The weather is amazing, really. I mean, the clouds seem to be gloomy and making wrinkly shapes, kind of matching your forehead." I laughed quickly. He glared. "Brought you a little peace offering. You can come in." The British tone boomed. Stefan walked past me and into the warehouse, then went towards the monstrous voice. I followed, just in time to watch as Klaus helped Stefan remember again. "Now you remember." He said.
It was like a lightbulb went off in his brain. He looked back at a lady, around his height (maybe an inch or two shorter) with light blonde hair and blue eyes. She was frail and looked like a model. Her face gave off a sense of bitchiness and attitude.
Stefan held her hands and smiled at her. "Rebekah." He breathed out. Klaus stepped in front of him. Stefan took a moment but remembered their past too. "I remember you. We were friends." He said, almost in a puzzled manner. "We are friends." Klaus corrected. "And who is she?" Rebekah looked me up and down. "Well she," I sassed, stepping to Stefan's side, ", is a friend of Stefan's. Sundance is my name actually." I crossed my arms. Stefan smiled at my sassiness. "Rebekah. I advise you to back off, Sundance or your time with us will come to a halt." The blondie smiled sarcastically. Sharpay Evans bitch.
"And now the reason you're here." Klaus cleared his throat and looked at his sister. "Gloria tells me you know how to contact the original witch." He continued. "The original witch?" Rebekah frowns, confused. "Gloria. What do you have that Gloria needs?" Klaus asked, annoyance in his voice. She touched her collarbones, looking for a necklace. My eyes slightly widened and I looked at Stefan. Elena's necklace.
He bit his tongue. "Where's my necklace? What did you do with it? I never take it off!" Rebekah screeched, searching her casket. "I don't know. I didn't touch it." Klaus yipped, putting his hands up. "We need to find it, Nik. Now, I want it back!" His sister screamed. "Tell me that's not what she needs, Rebekah!" He demanded. Damn. They are both loud.
I held my ears. "Why don't you both shut the hell up?" I suggested. They sent me a glare. "Just a suggestion," I mumbled. "I want clothes, Niklaus," Rebekah said in her shrill voice. I nearly laughed and walked out of the warehouse. Stefan caught up and opened the backseat door for me. I smiled at him and got in. He sat next to me. "You okay?" He whispered. I crept my hand into his and stared at our fingers. I nodded.
He seemed nearly uncomfortable with our hands like this. I pulled mine away and faced the window. Rebekah and Klaus joined us and she enjoyed most of our blood bags. Asshole. I guess I'd be hungry too if I was in a casket for 90 years so I can't really complain.
We were soon in a clothing store, drinking champagne and going on our phones while Rebekah was trying on dresses and other items. "There has to be more to this dress." She complained. "It's the 21st century, Rebekah. Live a little." I sassed. Klaus let out a laugh. Rebekah walked out in a short black dress. "So women in the 21st-century dress like prostitutes, then. You know, I got dirty looks for wearing trousers." She frowned. "You walked so short dresses could run, hun," I smirked. "You wore trousers so women today could wear anything." Klaus continued. "And what is this music? It sounds like a cable car accident." She looked up at the speakers. "It's dance music," Stefan explained. "People actually dance to this?"
We nodded. "Are we done?" Klaus groaned. "And why are you so grumpy?" Rebekah asked. Her hair was swept to the side, showing her somehow-blonder highlights. I swear I nearly went blind from looking at them. "I needed one thing from you for my witch to find out why my hybrids are dying, one thing. Your necklace. And you lost it." Her brother fired back, clearly frustrated. "How could she keep track of it if she was lying in a box, Klaus?" I snickered. Rebekah raised her eyebrows and turned to Stefan. "What do you think?" She asked. "I like it." He answered dishonestly. I chuckled. "What? I said I like it." He threw his hands up in defense. "I always know when you're lying." Rebekah stomped and went back into the dressing room. "I need fresh air. Care to join, Sundance?" Stefan asked, getting up. I was nearly shocked but agreed. We walked out and into the streets. A certain curly-haired brunette motioned for us to walk over. Hint: she looked like my sister. Mhm. Katherine.
"What the flying bee sacks are you doing here?" I asked. She shrugged. "You two seem cozy? Forgetting about the love of your life at home?" She sassed back, looking at Stefan. "That's none of your business. You know if Klaus finds out you're in Chicago, you're dead." He fired. "Happy to know that you still care. So tell me if I'm wrong...Rebekah's necklace that Klaus is looking for...That's the necklace that you gave to Elena." Katherine smirked. "They don't know where the necklace is. I just have to keep them from figuring it out. I have it all under control." Stefan promised. "Goodbye, Katherine." I scoffed. "Please, tell me you have a better plan than that. You do. Come on, Stefan. You're not the diabolical type. Whatever you're planning, it's not going to work." She crossed her arm. "Well if the high-class psycho bitch can't figure it out, we are doing something right. So once again, goodbye." I turned around. "Don't get too cocky. Klaus is smarter than you. He's smarter than everyone. And I've heard about that sister of his. Be careful. She'll ruin you two." Katherine called. "Happy to know you still care." Stefan shot back.
