Jenna helped Elena and Sundance into their dresses. Elena looked like Katherine. Sundance resembled Claire in her pink 1800s styled dress. Elena had a tan version of hers.

Sundance brushed her hair and curled Elena's, then fixed her eyelashes and brushed her teeth. "Let's go!" Jenna called.

MYSTIC FALLS HIGH SCHOOL

Elena and Sundance walked over a hill and looked down at the boys. They curtsied and smiled. Damon's jaw dropped at the similarities between Sundance and his ex-girlfriend.

FLASHBACK

"Where are we going, miss?!" Damon called, running through the forest. "You'll see, my love. Just a little farther!" His girlfriend called. He chased her down, thinking he was victorious when in reality, she allowed him to win. Damon grabbed Claire's waist and stared into her eyes while they both giggled like idiots. "Oh, how sad my dear sister would be to find out you're chasing after me." Claire held Damon's cheek. "Brainwashed fool." She said quietly. Damon's eyebrows furrowed.

NOW

Sundance and Elena walked down to the boys and stood across from them with a smile. "You look amazing," Stefan said to Elena. She smiled. Sundance stared at her dress. "Ready, Lena?" She asked. "Actually, uh, can I talk to you two?" Stefan asked. Sundance nodded and followed him.

He told them about the possibility of John being their father. "John?! Is that even possible?" Sundance looked at Elena. "There is no proof, but he dated Isobel when she was a teenager and he was the one who brought her to your dad's office for the delivery," Stefan said. "My whole life we've never liked this man. I..." Elena held her head. "Sorry, I'm sorry. I just...I wanted to tell you before Damon dropped it on you on some typically inappropriate way.." Stefan sighed. "No, I'm happy that you told me, I just...I really hope that it's not true. What I am supposed to do? Do I just...confront him and say "are you, my biological father"?" Elena looked up at her boyfriend. "I guess when you're ready." Stefan frowned. "I'm never gonna be ready. Stefan, I have enough problems with the family that I actually care about. Jeremy hates me, and why wouldn't he? My journal gave him every single reason to." Elena looked down. Sundance walked away to process the information.

Her uncle is her father. Her mother is a vampire. It all seemed surreal. "You look ravishing." A voice said. Sundance looked at Damon. "Thank you, Damon. You too." She forced a smile. "So he dropped the bomb?" Damon brought up. "Yes, Damon. He brought up the fact my life has flipped completely upside down and inside out in the past year." Sundance nodded. She let out a breath. "Sorry, uhm...yeah. Yeah, he mentioned it." Sundance said calmly. "You look like Claire." Damon admired quietly. "Hm?" Sundance looked at him. "Claire. You look like her in that dress." Damon said. "Really-" She was interrupted by Elena and Jeremy arguing a few feet away from them.

"Just don't! You can't fix this that easily; something like this doesn't just get fixed." Jeremy said, storming off.
"Come on, Lena. We have a parade to get to." Sundance whispered.

"Let's give a big hand to the Mystic Fall's high school Marching Band!" Carol Lockwood announced. The marching band and cheerleaders walked out, doing flips and drumming. "And for a little local history, Mr. Saltzman's students have recreated Virginia's Battle of Willow Creek." Carol clapped. The float arrived in the street with Jeremy and Tyler in it. They waved to the crowd and pretended to shoot at each other.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome our stunning Miss Mystic Falls Court and their handsome escorts," Carol said happily.

Elena, Stefan, Caroline and Matt, Sundance and Seth, and the rest of the Mystic Falls Court and their escorts laughed and waved to the crowd. "This is Caroline Forbes, Miss Mystic Falls. Aren't they beautiful?" Lockwood smiled. Bonnie smiled and waved at Elena and Sundance from the crowd. They smiled and waved back to Bonnie. Damon walked in front of Bonnie and stopped, smiled, and waved to them as well. Elena rolled her eyes and looked away. Sundance giggled and looked away. Elena looked at Stefan waved to the rest of the crowd.
