SALVATORE BOARDING HOUSE

"What's going on?" Zach Salvatore, a distant nephew to Stefan and Damon Salvatore, questioned after Stefan Salvatore burst into the home. "Someone else was attacked tonight, Zach, and it wasn't me." He ran to his room and stared at a crow, perched on the railing to his balcony. "Damon." He growled.

A man took the crow's place. "Hello, brother." The man said.
"Crow's a bit much, don't you think?" Stefan stepped closer. "Wait till you see what I can do with the fog." Damn chuckled
"When'd you get here?" His brother asked. "Well, I couldn't miss your first day at school. Your hair's different. I like it."
"It's been 15 years, Damon."
"Thank God. I couldn't take another day of the nineties. That horrible grunge look? Did not suit you. Remember, Stefan, it's important to stay away from fads."
"Why are you here?"
"I miss my little brother." Damon lied, keeping his smirk apparent. "You hate small towns. It's boring. There's nothing for you to do."
"I've managed to keep myself busy."
"You know, you left that girl alive tonight. That's very clumsy of you."
"Ah. That can be a problem...for you."
"Why are you here now?"
"I could ask you the same question. However, I'm fairly certain your answer can be summed up all into one little word...Elena. Well, and Sundance but you seem pretty uninterested in her. Sucks too. Gorgeous. Oh and those perfect eyes that turn a beautiful gold under the sunlight. That's adorable. She's almost like Claire...Elena, however... She took my breath away. She's a dead ringer for Katherine. Is it working, Stefan? Being around her, being in her world? Does it make you feel alive?"
"She's not Katherine. Neither is Sundance. She isn't a toy for you to chew up and spit out."
"Well, let's hope not. We both know how that ended. Tell me something, when's the last time you had something stronger than a squirrel?" Damon challenged. "I know what you're doing, Damon. It's not gonna work."
Damon stepped closer to his brother. "Yeah? Come on. Don't you crave a little?"
He pounded on his brother's chest.
"Stop it, Damon." Stefan growled again.
"Let's do it. Together. I saw a couple girls out there. Or just, let's just cut to the chase, let's just go straight for Elena. Or even the little twin, yeah?"
"Stop it!"
"Imagine what her blood tastes like!" Damon screamed again.

Stefan began to lose it. Veins became apparent under his eyes, as red bled through. He had blocked this part of him out for so long. How could he control this?

"What are you three doing home so early?" Aunt Jenna sat up from the couch and looked at Elena, Jeremy, and I. Jeremy ran upstairs. "Drunk..." Elena pointed at Sundance. "Drunk and high." She pointed at the staircase. "Tattle tale." I pouted. "Sundance Soul Gilbert, what the hell were you thinking?" Jenna stood up and crossed her arms. "Nice, you are acting like a parent. Cool. Try being more concerned next time, y-yeah?" I walked upstairs closed my door. Maybe that was a bit harsh. I sent an apology to aunt Jenna's phone and grabbed a towel. I then took off my necklace, putting it against my mirror.

After a long shower, I changed into a sports bra and basketball shorts and laid down in my bed. It felt heavenly after today.

I heard the door open, so out of concern and pure curiosity, I got up and stumbled downstairs. I sat on the staircase and listened to Stefan from the doorway.
"You know, for months, that's all anyone's wondered about me. If I'll be ok." Elena whispered.
"What do you tell them?"
"That I'll be fine."
"Do you ever mean it?"
"Ask me tomorrow. It's warmer in the house. We can talk. Would you like to come in?" Elena asked.
HOTTIE ALERT.

I ran upstairs and changed into leggings and slipped on a gray v neck t shirt. Stefan and Elena were in the kitchen, drinking wine and grabbing snacks. I walked in, rubbing my head for effect. "I need Advil. Hey Stefan." I waved, grabbing the bottle of medicine. He smiled. "Hey, Sun. Aren't you supposed to be asleep?"
"I'm not a baby." I frowned, swallowing a tablet. "You're sobering up. Go to bed." Elena instructed. "Have fun. Don't make too much noise." I winked and ran upstairs. I hope I made things awkward, sissy.
