"So any idea of where you'll go?"

Stefan Salvatore asked his brother. They stood on the porch of the Boarding Home. Emptiness laid in the air.
"I don't know. London, maybe. See some friends." Damon lied. He knew he didn't have anyone but his brother.
"You don't have any friends anymore, Damon."
"You're right, Stefan. I only have you. So, where are we goin'?" Damon looked at his little brother. "We are not going anywhere. I'm gonna live my life as far away from you as possible." Stefan scoffed. He walked away. "But we're a team! We could travel the world together. We could try out for "The Amazing Race"." Damon exclaimed. "Mmmm, that's funny. Seriously, where are you going? Because we are not staying in this town."
The doorbell rang. Damon and Stefan glanced at the door and back at each other. Stefan went to the parlor and opened the front door. Liz Forbes stood, expectantly, outside.
"I'm here to see Damon." She explained
Damon walked over.
"Sheriff. What a surprise." He greeted.
"Sorry to bother you, but we need to talk." Liz sighed. "Come in." Damon let her in and lead her to the courtyard

"Um, I hope you understand the secrecy. Stefan doesn't know about this yet and I'd like to keep it that way." Damon nodded
"Of course, kids are too young to be brought into this." Forbes nodded. "So, what do you need?"
"There's been another attack. A female victim, her throat torn out, completely drained of blood. It fits the pattern."

"I'm sorry. I don't understand. I thought we solved that problem when I...staked the blond one." Damon said, confused. Was his brother finally drinking from veins?
"I'm thinking she must have turned someone. Or multiple someones. I don't know. The story for the town is another animal attack but I'm not sure how long we can keep lying to them. The council is in an uproar. We thought we were past this." Sheriff frowned
"So, uh, what do we do?" Damon asked.
"You're the only one who's ever taken on a vampire. We were hoping you could tell us."

Sundance, Seth, Bonnie, and Elena walked down the halls of Mystic Falls. They stopped in front of Elena and Sundance's lockers and looked down the hall. "Caroline and Matt?" Seth questioned. "Anyway, I gotta go. See you later." Seth smiled and hugged Sundance, who hugged back and messed up his hair.

"Did I miss something?" Sundance asked, looked at Matt and Caroline. "They've been hanging out," Bonnie informed. "Kind of weird, don't you think?" Elena put her scarf away.

"She needs someone nice like him, as opposed to a homicidal vampire like Damon." Bonnie shrugged.
"Yeah, how are you doing with all that?" Elena asked.

Elena had told Sundance all that happened after Bonnie left.

FLASHBACK

Emily: Stefan.
Stefan: Hello, Emily.
Emily: These people don't deserve this. They should never have to know such evil.
Stefan: What do you mean evil?
Damon: Emily. I swear to God, I'll make you regret this.
Emily: I won't let you unleash them into this world.
Stefan: Them? What part of the story did you leave out, Damon?
Damon: What does it matter?
Stefan: Emily, tell me what you did.
Emily: To save her, I had to save them.
Stefan: You saved everyone in the church?
Emily: With one, comes all.
Damon: I don't care about them. I just want Katherine.
Stefan: I knew I shouldn't have believed a single word that comes out of your mouth. This isn't about love, is it? This is about revenge.
Damon: The two aren't mutually exclusive.
Stefan: Damon, you can't do this.
Damon: Why not? They killed 27 people, and they called it a war battle. They deserve whatever they get.
Stefan: 27 vampires, Damon. They were vampires. You can't just bring them back.
Damon: This town deserves this.
Stefan: You're blaming innocent people for something that happened 145 years ago.
Damon: There is nothing innocent about these people, and don't think for a second it won't happen again. They already know too much, and they'll burn your little grand witch right next to us when they find out. Trust me.
Emily: Things are different now.
Damon: Don't do this.
Emily: I can't free them. I won't. Incendia!
The pentagram Emily carved into the dirt around her was then set ablaze, and flames created a wall between Bonnie and Stefan, Damon, and Elena.
