KlausSeeing Sundance again was overwhelming. She had changed, not only form, but personality wise. When I last saw the girl, she was broken and was on the edge of ending it all. Drowned in the depths of a bottle
or two of alcohol, she had told me all her sorrows and burdens. She explained to me the suicide pact she had with herself and how she felt as if she was crashing. Her greenish eyes held a glimmer of hope as she told
me these things. She wanted to be healed. Through out the night, I found myself wanting to nurture her back to a beautiful flower, not kill her as expected.Needless to say, she isn't the same
person she was a year ago. Her hair was longer and seemed healthier, along with smoother skin. She had a bright smile and her eyes weren't as sunken in as last time. Though still short, she had grown a few inches and used that to as much advantage as possible. Now standing in front of her, I saw how much she truly grew. She was trying to be brave. "What do you want?" She asked, putting a hand on her hip. She glared at me. "Now love, don't play hard to get when you're trapped." I chuckled. I grabbed onto her wrists and sped to the classroom I taught in earlier today. She flinched at the contact, indicating she was uncomfortable. I sat her down at a desk and stared at her. I made her look into my eyes and compelled her to stay until she hears me say otherwise.
I tracked down Elena and her witch, then cleared my throat and ran over to them and panted. "He got Sundance! Klaus got Sundance." I said, gasping for air. Elena grabbed Bonnie. "What?!"They exclaimed. "Follow me!" I waved them towards me as I began running down hallways and back to the other side of the school.
"Wait...this doesn't seem right." Bonnie said suddenly. I couldn't hold in my laughter. I turned around. "I just had to get away from that dance. The sixties, ugh. Not my decade. I mean, whose call was that, anyway? I much prefer the twenties. The style, the parties, the jazz." I rambled. Elena cut me off. "Alaric, where's Sundance?" She asked. "Ah, I almost forgot." I smirked, opening the door. "Come on out now, love." I called. Sundance got up and glared. "Fuck off." She hissed as she rammed her shoulder into my side. She hugged Elena and Bonnie.
"Wanna tell them or shall I?" I offered. Sundance turned towards Bonnie and Elena. "Klaus." She mouthed. Their faces dropped. She turned away from me and mouthed something else. "Just relax, girls. I'm not here to hurt you. You're not on my hit list tonight." I hummed and turned towards Bonnie. "But you are."
I started towards Bonnie but she threw me against the wall with her powers. Ouch, you twit.
I got up and dusted off my knees. "Now, did I mention that I knew a witch? You're gonna have to hit me a lot harder than that." I snickered. Sundance grabbed Bonnie and Elena, then sped away.
Sundance's POV
I ran down the hall until I met faces with Damon. "Klaus is possessing Alaric. I'll get Elena out of here and tell Stefan." I offered. Damon's eyes widened. "Go. Now!" He strained. I grabbed Elena again and listened around for Stefan. I followed his sound and joined him in a hall.
It felt like time stood against us in that moment. I told Stefan everything and led him to the hallway we were in previously . We ran until we reached the cafeteria. Inside, lights flickered as Bonnie pushed herself to the max in order to kill Klaus. I banged on the door. "Bonnie, no!" Elena cried.
Bonnie groaned in pain as she fought Klaus. Lights began start bursting, sending a shower of sparks raining down. Elena screamed. Stefan tried to open the doors but he couldn't. Bonnie looked at us with a smile. Klaus got up and Bonnie faced him. Suddenly with a jerk of her body she bended back and fell on the floor.
The doors flew open and we crowded around Bonnie. Sobs escaped our mouths in disbelief that yet another loved one of ours is gone. Bonnie Bennett was dead.
I clutched onto her hands and held them, whispering sweet sorrows and regrets. I should have been there for her. I should have stayed. I shouldn't have left her.
"No! No. No, no, no, no, no! Bonnie, you cannot leave. Bonnie, please, no! No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!" I begged.
It felt as if my heart was being twisted into knots. I began coughing from inhaling tears and scooted back. "Stefan, get them out of here. I'll deal with the body." A voice said. Elena and I snapped our necks at Damon. "What do you mean, deal with it?" Elena demanded.
My heart ached in this moment. It felt as if the world pushed me against a wall and ripped my heart from my chest. "The sheriff can't know about this. Last thing we need's another mysterious death." Damon mumbled. "This is Bonnie, Damon! This is Bonnie!" I argued. "Get her home. Now. So I can clean this up." Damon looked at Stefan. Stefan helped Elena up and wrapped her in his arms. She sobbed on his shoulder. "Jeremy!" She sniffled. "I'll find him." Damon promised. Stefan looked at me pitifully. He grabbed my arm gently and helped me up. "No, Stefan! We can't let her go!" I sobbed. "Shhh...Come on." He hugged me tightly. It calmed me down a bit, but nothing could stop the tears from flowing.
Elena and I were now sitting by a warm fire in the Boarding Home. Stefan came in with two mugs of coffee. I shook my head and stared at my hands. I can't drink when Bonnie is supposed to be here to celebrate the success of Klaus's death. But she isn't and Klaus was not dead.
Losing a friend is like losing a family member, especially when you've grown up around that friend. Bonnie and I have had our differences, but she was like an older sister to me. She looked out for Elena and I, then died in the process. This was our fault.
Before I knew what I was doing, I rushed to the door and sped out with my vamp speed. I went to Wickery Bridge and laid on it, looking up at the stars. I found a bright one and thought of Bonnie. I sat up and curled myself into a fetal position. A car stopped in front of me.
"Sundance? What are you doing?" A voice asked. It was a girl from my Math class. I stared at her. "I'm mourning." I hissed, standing up. I sped to her. "Don't be scared. Don't scream. Just one bite." I compelled. "Just one bite." The girl repeated. I sank my fangs into her neck and let the blood flow into my mouth. It disguised the pain with an overwhelming sensation of hunger.
I drained the blood from my classmate and threw the body in the water.
My parents died here..that isn't right...
I went under and took her body out. What am I?
I sat for hours with the girl, just until I heard sirens. I sped to one of the ambulances and snuck behind one of the men. I grabbed him and dug into his neck. It went blurry as I killed again, again, and again.
I listened to the news as I showered the next morning. I compelled myself a house and kept the owner as a servant so no one could come in. The reporter explained the animal
attacks that left the citizens dead. I scoffed and turned the water off. I changed into my freshly washed clothes and opened the front door. Bored out of my mind, I went to the Salvatore home."Honey, I'm home!"
