"Renjun, Gina, do you think it will look right?" Taeyong was hanging out balloons in the local culture house. Him and Garry were preparing the annual party, Renjun came to help. He took Gina and Jungwoo, so now Jungwoo was drawing some strange dogs on the balloons, they weren't really reminding a dog, but Renjun had learned a long time ago to accept Jungwoo's strangeness fully.

Gina was coming to visit quite often lately. Renjun was trying to avoid physical contact with her at all costs, but they were taking a lot, she turned out to be witty and nice, each day he was learning to rely on her and concentrate on the little things only, getting up, eating meals, meeting Gina, meeting Taeyong, no future plans involved, just here and now.

"Renjun it will be our night," whispered Gina coming to him kissing his cheek.

He saw Taeyong observing him so he pulled her closer pecking her lips quickly, she gigged. Taeyong was smiling when he glanced back at him.

As long as Taeyong was happy Renjun could work on convincing him to go back to Jae, to leave Garry, it was possible, he reminded himself looking towards the old man. Renjun has never seen him and Taeyong acting anything more than friends around each other, but he guessed Taeyong wanted to avoid it at all costs.

"After the party we're swimming out with my yacht from pier 17, all of you are invited!" said Garry sending them a wide smile.

"Can my boyfriend come too?" asked Jungwoo.

"Sure," Garry gave him thumbs up.

"I had no idea he's gay," whispered Gina leaning at Renjun.

"Is it bad?" he asked.

"No, just... strange I guess," she shrugged.

Renjun shrugged to walking to Taeyong helping him to hang out the balloons. Despite spending a lot of time together they haven't been really close, their relationship formally polite, nothing more.

"Renjun will you go to the shoe shop with me? I need nice high heels for the night?" asked Gina.

"Not too high," said Taeyong winking to her when Renjun felt heat on his cheek.

Ok, she was a few inches taller than him in flat shoes, but still it was ok.

"I will," he said ignoring his father's comment.

"Sorry I just wanted her to make you feel like a man," said Taeyong nudging his arm.

"Aha..." Renjun bit his lip.

Taeyong was so weird, really.

Like a total stranger, not the guy who had been singing self-composed lullabies to him.

Renjun finished his decoration work quietly then left with Gina to the shoe shop, Taeyong dropped them off with his cool car.

"Have fun kids, let me know when to pick you up," he winked.

"You don't need to bother sir, it's near my house," Gina waved.

"Renjun, this is an amazing woman, keep her," said Taeyong winking again before driving off, Renjun's insides crumbled.

He turned towards the shop quickly following Gina inside. They were walking along shelves with shoes and boxes, he was keeping her side with his head low when she suddenly squealed.

"O! Look this super hot model, I think he's from the same country as you!" Gina grabbed his arm pointing at a huge poster behind the middle aisle, where to his horror Renjun saw a large photo of Jaemin.

"Yep," he muttered fleeing as if all the air had left his lungs.

"I always wonder, why aren't guys at my school so hansome," she sighed. "Anyway what do you think about this pair," she grabbed some glittering sandals stretching them towards him, but he was frozen watching Jaemin's poster, the beautiful eyes, the smile he missed like daylight.

"Renjun hey!" she poked his arm.

"Auch!" he jumped back.

"Stop being sad, I think you're also very handsome don't worry," she pecked his lips then walked to a pouf trying the sandals on while he was still standing there, a wave of poison in his belly exploding with sharp pain unexpectedly.

Renjun sat down next to Gina feeling so odd.

"Are you ok? You're pale?" she caressed his cheek.

"Yes, nice shoes, they're pretty on you," he whispered when she blushed.

Yet she spent the next two hours trying on new and new pairs, when he was trying the hardest to not to look at the poster that seemed to pierce through him from the wall seeing through his lies, making him feel like the smallest boy on the planet.

The rumor of voices was painful when Renjun entered the culture house ballroom assisted by Gina. She was holding his arm tightly, her super short black dress catching attention of most men in the room. She had curled her dark hair up in a nice way putting on make up, she was definitely as pretty as Daisy at the red carpets where she was showing off with Chenle. In a diffident situation Renjun would be eager to let the girl in, he would make photos of them, sent to Chenle to brag about his girlfriend.

"Renjun it's great to see you," Garry came to him putting a champagne glass into his hand. "For my Taeyong's son and his amazing girlfriend," he said drinking cheers.

It was hard for Renjun to swallow the bubbles down.

It's not your Taeyong, it's Jae's Taeyong, he wanted to shout but he bit his tongue as always.

"We're so happy to be here," Gina smiled brightly.

Renjun nodded when Garry invited them over to his table.

Taeyong was nowhere to find, he came late wearing a velvet jacket, he smiled wider noticing Renjun coming straight to him.

Thank you so much for your support. What do you think about Renjun's reaction to Jaemin's poster? What will happen at the party? Will Renjun be able to confront Taeyong? I can only say the next couple of chapters will be real rollercoaster ride and you are not prepared😅😅 so I hope you'll stay with my characters. I'm actually really excited to share that part of the story with you.

Also happy Chenle day 🎂 🐬

Much <3
