Jae's lonely life seems stable and dull until he finds out his son has run away from his boyfriend to fulfill some mysterious plan that might break two people meant to be or bring two back together.
"Really, really ugly," she giggled. "Isn't it funny, they really are our town's top tourist attraction."
"Very," Renjun tried to sound anything but sarcastic, but failed when crossed the street towards a small supermarket.
"It's here, everything's here is not really far," Gina placed her hands in her pockets.
"How can I go to this annual party?"
"I can go with you if you like," she sent him a glance that made him uncomfortable.
"Ok," he shrugged.
If she could lead him to Garry he will convince the guy to allow him to see Taeyong, this as at lest was a plan.
They entered the shop and when they left twenty minutes later she helped him to carry the groceries he had bought for breakfast.
She was actually bringing him to his teenage days. Back then he had a hopeless crush on Daisy but Chenle started to date her instead, he wasn't jealous anymore, ok maybe just from time to time. If life had turned out the other way and Daisy would have kissed him, he wouldn't have been here, he wouldn't need to be here, to try to get behind some walls.
He glanced at Gina realizing she was his chance, if Taeyong will agree to meet him she was a chance. She didn't know who he was nor was she aware of Jaemin being his, so he just needed to keep it that way.
"Do you have time this evening?" he asked so suddenly.
"Sure, do you like bike rides? I can borrow you may brother's bike," she blushed a little tugging her hair strings behind her ear.
Has he ever figured it out for real, if he was gay, or straight, or bi, ok no straight obviously as him and Jaemin... but he had liked girls only before he had met Lucas in LA.
"Thank you it was a lovely morning," he said when they stopped in front of her house.
"I can help you to carry it inside," she pointed at the bag he took from her now holding three big ones.
"No I'm fine, see you around 6 p.m.," he smiled to her then ran to his house, his heart uneasy.
He opened the door storming the kitchen to find all three boys sitting there.
"You went for shopping man, you're great!" yelled Lucas jumping to him to grab the bags.
"Will we not starve here?" asked Jungwoo with big eyes.
Jaemin was serious watching him so Renjun looked away, he hoped he hasn't seen him and the girl, the fog was tick fortunately. She has just helped him to carry the bags, told him how to meet Garry, he was only a little nice.
"Guys please stop arguing," begged Lucas watching Renjun and Jaemin.
"Do you har me speaking?" asked Jaemin in a dry way.
Lucas just shook his head when he walked to Renjun helping him to prepare breakfast.
"Who is this girl?" asked Jaemin.
It was 6 p.m. and Gina was waiting in their garden with two bikes, Jungwoo and Lucas were playing badminton in the grass when Jaemin was eying the newcomer up skeptically.
"She's a local, she knows Garry, Taeyong's lover," whispered Renjun.
"Can't you just go and knock to his gate, make it quick and go back home? Why to play some games, it won't lead anywhere?" asked Jaemin.
"You see, you don't understand that I can't do it!" Renjun tensed.
"Ok, do it your way!" Jaemin shouted then walked into the house slamming the door in an extra loud way.
"Hi, pretty girl, hi!" Lucas was waving to Gina who became all shy when Renjun approached her.
"Don't bother with them," muttered Renjun grabbing the bike handle still trembling from anger.
"Why was the boy arguing with you?" she asked.
"He's my... older brother, you know how older brothers are," Renjun blushed.
"I know, you don't need to tell me," she rolled her eyes. "I have three older brothers."
"Oh!" he looked at her stunned.
"So let's go, don't let your brother spoil your day," she rolled her bike towards the road.
"Have fun!" Jungwoo waved to him so Renjun waved back crossing the street while trying to forget how betrayed Jaemin must feel.
It was dark when Renjun and Gina left the bikes in her garage, they had made a long circle around the village, talked a lot, actually Gina was talking a lot Renjun rather listening.
"It was so nice, I hope to see you tomorrow," she smiled shyly.
His hands were trembling.
"Bye, have a good night," he waved awkwardly before running out of the garage then all the way back to the neighboring house.
He sneaked inside cautiously hoping they're asleep, at least Jaemin, but he heard some strange noises in the corridor so he stopped turning around to figure out some shapes in the darkness. There was a very tall person, definitely Lucas pressing someone against a wall making out firecely. Wait, wasn't that someone Jungwoo, Renjun felt a flip.
