Michael leaned against Lucifer's side and took a deep breath of the cold night air. He was too tired to care about the fact that Lucifer had his arms wrapped around him. He was too tired to tell him not to rest his chin on Michael's head. Far too tired to tell him that he was, under no circumstances, completely comfortable in his arms and that made him uncomfortable. Instead he just let Lucifer have his moment. No need to ruin it, right?

"How long do you think it'll be before Adam wakes up and realizes that we left him alone with Alfie?" Michael asked. Lucifer chuckled and took a deep breath of Michael's hair. Michael didn't think his hair smelled good considering he spent most of his time at school, practice, and the hospital. He probably smelled like Axe body spray, grass, and cleaning supplies. Which was better than sweat, but still not great.

"I don't know, good thing Alfie didn't notice," Lucifer said. "The one good thing about that kid being blind."

"I don't think we should be making jokes about that," Michael chided, even as he hid his own giggle. So maybe it was a bit funny. Then again, they had been through a whole hell of a lot as a group, and they deserved to make a couple of jokes.

"I'm suprised you're here with me," Lucifer said.

"What, on the roof of the hospital? I break the rules on occassion, Luce," Michael said.

"Doubt it, Mica. You're a rule follower, guaranteed," Lucifer teased. Michael shifted in Lucifer's arms so he could look him in the eyes.

"I am not," Michael said seriously.

"Prove it," Lucifer said. "You've never taken a serious risk in your..." Lucifer trailed off as Michael pushed himself out of the eldest Novak's arms and approached the edge of the building. He looked over the edge. The building was at least twenty stories which meant he was very, very high. He cleared his throat. So maybe he had a small fear of heights.

Michael shot Lucifer a defiant look and then climbed up onto the ledge of the building.

"What the hell are you doing, Mica?" Lucifer said, clearly shocked. Michael grinned.

"How's this for taking risks?" Michael asked, taking a step back so the heels of his shoes were hanging off the edge. "One slip, and I'm a human pancake."

"Okay, so maybe I was wrong about you," Lucifer said with one of those wicked grins that sent chills down Michael's spine. He climbed off the pipe they had turned into a strange sort of bench with blankets and approached the ledge, climbing up. He grabbed Michael's wrist and pulled him a bit away from the edge, still holding onto his wrist after. Michael didn't bother telling Lucifer to drop it.

"I think I'm full of more surprises than you'd think," Michael said, returning Lucifer's smirk.

"Oh, are you?" Lucifer asked teasingly. "Come on, while we're up here we might as well do something," Lucifer said as he leaned in close enough for Michael to feel the eldest Novak's breath on his lips.

"What did you have in mind?" Michael asked, suddenly short of breath. Lucifer leaned in a bit closer and Michael internally panicked. Was he going to...

"This is what I need," Lucifer said as his arm snaked around Michael's waist to grab his phone from his back pocket before pulling away. Michael took a deep breath, that was half relief and half disapointment. He really needed to figure out what it was he wanted from Lucifer.

"What do you want with my phone?" Michael asked. "Because if you throw it over the ledge, so help me God, I will kill you."

"Don't use my father's name in vain," Lucifer said seriously. "What's your phone password?"
